Chapter 91: Grave
Staring at Wyatt as he and climb through the rubble of what was once a bookstore, he picks up many picture books and basic science and engineering books, although we are taught much on the first floor each world still needs to develop unique creations to itself if for no other reason than to not let others realize your weakness easily.
I watch as he flips through them and looks around checking out the once tall buildings and the many broken screens and phones long abandoned when people were running for their lives.
Soon we get to a suite that was clearly not in use at the time of as it was still semi-clean despite the dust settling over it after so long with no one to clean anything here, we decide to rest here tonight instead of at the base and we hunt some monsters to eat as we know which are and are not poisonous.
As we lie together on the bed all I could dream of that night is my siblings who have without a doubt fully grown up and became far more than I ever could in that world, I wonder if they even still miss me or remember me.
Wyatt
I stare at the building collapsed in curiosity as they were clearly so large and tall yet somehow had stood straight up without any type of energy aid, although towers exist, they run on energy to remain so tall and formidable yet despite the surge of creatures and being built of subpar material they clearly had some that still withstood the test of time even now.
I stand on the top of one as a bunch of vulture's swarms around us and try to kill me when I see Aadi leap up and land on here with me to kill the vultures and once we are nearly done some type of flying device can be heard.
Aadi seems to understand something as he shouts in a strange language I have never heard before to the ones in the device.
The flying contraption lands and point the things I have seen be called guns at us, but it is clear they are useless as they have no energy imbedded in the contraptions and won't be able to break through the natural barrier people with energy have on their skin.
I see a pained look in Aadi's eyes as he begins to speak as I stare at the people now in front of us and notice how they looked just like void people with black hair and eyes along with their features making me wonder if they had some of our blood in them but that is absurd.
Whatever Aadi said seems to have made them lower their weapons as they let us into their flying contraption and take us to a place with thin walls made of some type of stone material most likely to keep monsters out.
I see the people here looking seconds from deaths doorstep, even the children look like they would drop in any second and I can see a distinct lack of anything in Aadi's eyes making me wonder what is happening right now after all Aadi is an even more sympathetic person then I for such things, yet he isn't showing anything.
Soon we come to a box room barely fit for life much less someone as powerful as us to be put in for good diplomacy.
I watch the thin wooden door close and turn to Aadi awaiting the explanation, and it is a shocking one as he informs me this is in fact his home world only a few years after the appearance of tunnels.
But the bigger problem is the fact the tower thought his world was a good stage for our country to be for the further floors meaning his planet still must be in play more than we had originally assumed which isn't too strange after all his world was much more technologically advance than ours so them finding a way to other planets quickly isn't too strange.
Aadi has not been in his world since he was 10 years old, now 35years old he has been a part of our world longer than his own so if it has changed, he wouldn't know how things have progressed all we know is how things were so many years ago not now.
I think on how things must have changed in his world as it is hard to be certain how it could have changed since he was in it.
Maybe it was time to try and find Aadi's world using his wristwatch as the military spoke of doing in the past, after all although Aadi doesn't have his world's energy in him doesn't mean the things on him don't it is simply less energy than they are certain would be enough to open a portal there.
Although I have spoken against doing so in council meetings now it may need to happen for safety reasons if the towers hint his world will play a role is anything to consider.
We need to be ahead of this if it is a threat and make friends if we may need their aid for a reason, it is hard to say which for now.
We go to bed with thoughts on our mind squeezing on the bed together making me barely able to hold myself back from going to far as despite all the time together we haven't gone all the way.
I would not disrespect him by not marrying first despite his claims our world doesn't find a problem with it his world does, and I do not want him to have any form of phycological shadow in the future because of my impatience so we shall wait till our marriage.
That morning, he imprints the language, and it is a strange feeling having such different languages than what is on our planet in my mind.
We leave our room and head to the place Aadi says we need to register to get basic rations and to find out information of this area like other major bases and who is currently in power.
I see the rations and hold my anger in as I see the lack of shock in Aadi's appearance showing things must not have been much better in his own time by food standards.
I remember the story Lucian told me about how he cried trying chocolate cake and wonder if it was the first time he ever tasted it, I had known his original world was one in a state of war and on the verge of collapse but nothing showed it as badly as now staring at the barely together pack we have as we leave the base to kill monsters and find the rest of the team.
We walk out of the wall and as we walk, I can see bodies not yet properly buried on the verge of erupting with negative energy along with many signs of what must have been people trying desperately survive only to be trampled by monsters.
This isn't a home or city it is a grave one that is only short of erupting and destroying even more lives.
