Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Blitzkrieg 4
Thanks to the pincer attack plan, which is divided into two fronts as such, victory was firmly secured in the bag.
The first line of battle is carried out by Aldrich, who occupies the area of the Dectus elevator, and then begins his march towards the direction of the capital of the kingdom Leyndell.
The second front was carried forward by the combined forces of Kristoff, Tiche and Lansseax. They advance with speed from the capital Leyndell towards the Dectus elevator.
Both expeditionary forces are right in the central city of the southern zone, which will be used as a stronghold to launch a combined assault on the northern zone.
...Aldrich pov...
"Now I understand why they were surrendering en masse. anything to say?"
"I enjoyed it."
"Of that there is no doubt Lansseax, I only have to look around and I can tell how much you enjoyed it."
I don't doubt that this method was quite convenient and efficient, but was it necessary to destroy the whole damn gate?
Perhaps noticing my thoughts, Kristoff slowly approaches with his face lowered, just as if he is to blame for the whole situation.
"My lord, I..."
"No, Kristoff. I already expected you couldn't control her, but Tiche is another story."
Kristoff is not weak at all, Godefroy despite everything was still someone part of the golden lineage and yet Kristoff still managed to defeat him.
The situation is that Kristoff seems to be someone who follows orders to the end, avoiding getting into any trouble that doesn't fall under those orders.
Basically if he is ordered to, he will do it without batting an eye. Conversely, if there's no order for him to fix it, he just watches from a distance if it's too much of a nuisance.
"I did it, but I didn't expect her to have so much resistance."
"Hahaha yet another demonstration that if it were one on one, I would always win against any of your lackeys and Tiche."
Watching as Lansseax acts in a manner full of haughtiness, while pointing his finger at me, I begin to doubt what I've heard.
It's not preference, but who I fight against is all about Tiche... She's a total beast when let loose and if the RNG helps, obviously.
With such thoughts and doubting about that RNG thing, he uttered the biggest of my doubts.
"Did you let him win, Tiche?"
"Hey!"
"I was certainly limited due to my combat style, which is cemented in lethality, but it was still his victory."
Ignoring the trembling soldiers in the vicinity, as enduring Tiche's voice is not for everyone, he observed the two of them and their reactions.
Strangely a rare understanding began to form between Tiche and Lansseax, it's not me imagining things, something strange is going on here... I can feel it.
...Some time later...
"The forces in the northern area already know about us."
"Too fast, isn't it?"
"Not too fast, but impossibly fast."
Overlooking the opinions flying back and forth, I remain silent and watch as Kristoff places wooden tokens representing troops on the map.
Looking at the numbers, it's easy to notice that at least 70%~80% of the total troops in the west are in front of us.
"Someone must have informed them of our movements."
"There are no traitors among our ranks, Tiche. I have trained them myself and forged them in character, all so that they will be extremely loyal to our cause."
"Perhaps you are both right. During our clashes, I managed to sense that something was watching us from afar, just as during the dominula campaign."
Cutting off Tiche and Kristoff's words, I watch as Lansseax squints his eyes and struggles to remember something, then blurts out an important piece of information.
It was one of the possibilities, but it is a futile move and something Ranni would never do, if my memories of his personality are true.
The situation is that even if we delay further in the conquest, it doesn't really benefit her at all. This will only get me out with professional troops, battle hardened leaders and a territory clean of dissidents.
"This doesn't seem to be Ranni's method of action, I don't see any benefit here besides buying time."
"Certainly, but we're only looking at what's in front of us. Maybe she's doing it for something else."
Kristoff, proving to be a natural leader, quickly escapes the thinking mold and looks at the bigger picture.
"If she's using a distraction trick, it means her plan is easily countered."
Being a great assassin, Tiche quickly begins to correlate the threads and form a situation in her head apparently.
"Never mind! We just need to increase the speed and finish here fast, then we can take care of her. In the face of power, no trick works!"
I'd like to agree with Lansseax, but we're talking about Ranni "The Lunar Princess". A demigoddess, absolutely rational, expert in magic and very good at secret plots.
"We will go ahead with what is currently planned, today we rest and tomorrow we will move forward with all our might".
"Understood, my lord."
"Well said Aldrich, strength can do anything!"
"As you wish"
...Elsewhere...
One spark, it only takes one spark and the entire capital of the kingdom, Leyndell, will begin to burn to its deepest foundations.
It may be an exaggeration, but the people currently living in Leyndell, don't think so and a certain amount of reason they have.
"What are you doing here, witch?"
Inside the meeting room, formerly Queen Marika's room, a confrontation was taking place between two wills.
The first was Al's, he takes a seat at the highest area of the meeting table and continues to wear Aldrich's appearance, giving him a regal countenance.
"That's the way to talk to your queen, Aldrich doesn't seem to be doing his job well."
"I will not allow you to disrespect her!"
Ignoring Al's outburst, just as if it was an expected reaction, the second person takes the seat at the low end of the table.
She is Ranni, at least one of his puppets, making her look as she always does. With blue skin, four arms, long bluish hair and dressed as a witch.
"Well, I still have more than enough time to get everything ready. You can keep trying to resist, but you'll only achieve a civil war."
Finishing speaking with absolute confidence, Ranni rises from her seat with absolute grace and leaves the meeting room, leaving a furious All behind.
"This is a problem, a big problem... It was too unexpected the way he acted."
Calm had returned to Al's face, no perhaps he has never lost it, for he is not a living being in the exact sense of the word.
"What are we going to do?"
Shattering the silence with her cold voice, the Night Maiden who always remained silent behind Al, asks the million dollar question.
"I can tear that puppet apart, but everyone knows he's in here. A single day that he doesn't make a public appearance and we'll have a civil war on our hands."
"I'll continue to keep an eye on his movements."
"Thank you."
With those last words, silence once again reigns in the room and everything returns to normal.
