Elven Legacy

Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Realm Auction House

"I'm content, Prince Elif; just watching you fight against Birger was more than enough for me to understand the gap in our strength." Said Eyvor as she eyed the large fissure directly beside Birger with slight disbelief.

"Well, that's fine. So now that the little spar is over, let us continue what we were doing before." Said Elif, quickly trying to leave the castle, hoping not to get caught by Marcus.

Once we finally left the royal grounds, I sighed in relief and decided to strike up some conversation now that I was no longer worried about father, though someone beat me to it.

"I'm curious, Prince Elif. How come we never saw Princess Elaine?" Asked Eyvor, finding it slightly weird how they hadn't met Elaine.

"She is currently learning how to cultivate with my mother, and from how excited she was to finally be able to cultivate, I doubt we'll see her for the rest of the day." Answered Elif with a chuckle, as that's exactly how he acted on his fourth birthday.

"And what about you two? Either of you got any siblings?" Asked Elif, causing Eyvor's face to show slight hatred while Birger didn't have any reaction.

"I'm an only child, but I have many cousins; however, I would prefer not to talk about them if that's fine with you." Said Eyvor calmly, though you could hear the anger held within her voice.

"Not interested in them anyways; what about you, Birger?"

"I'm also an only child. Though, if you don't mind asking Prince Elif, where are we headed?" Replied Birger while asking his own question after having looked out the carriage windows.

"Ahh, yes, I'd figured since you both were considered special guests, I should take you somewhere special, and that place would be the Auction house. However, I do apologize in advance if that place turns out to be boring, as I, myself, have not visited the Auction house." Said Elif as he started fanning himself with the quạt tay while looking out the window.

"You've never been to an Auction house, Prince Elif?" Asked Eyvor as she subtly tried to get to know Elif.

"I did plan to do so, but after my experience at the Gambling leaf, I figured the Auction house would be the same, so I didn't bother wasting my time, though hopefully, my assumption was wrong." Answered Elif, sounding annoyed at having merely mentioned the Gambling leaf.

After that, none of us talked much; we observed the outside while enjoying the quietness, though, after some time, we eventually reached our destination.

"We've arrived at the Auction house, Prince Elif." Stated Mandy from outside the carriage.

"Well then, let us go, shall we?" Said Elif with a smile as he stood up and exited the carriage, followed by Eyvor, Birger, and Illumia.

The moment I stepped out of the carriage, what looked like a giant castle appeared before me, with an imposing presence, and though it couldn't be compared to the royal palace, it was still an elegant structure.

"Quite an extravagant Auction house, much better than the one I visited." Commented Eyvor while inspecting the building before her.

"Well, it's expected as much, considering it's the famous Realm Auction house." Said Birger after having fully stepped out of the carriage.

"What's the Realm Auction house?" Asked Eyvor while following beside Elif.

"The Realm Auction house is the biggest Auction house organization in the OverRealm, with them having at least one Auction house in every Immortal territory. However, that is not the same regarding a Divine or Ancient territory." Answered Elif while the group walked past various people of varying statuses before entering the realm auction house.

When we arrived inside the auction house, the same thing happened as when we were outside, everyone stopped before looking in our direction and began murmuring, though because of our statuses, we were all used to being the center of attention wherever we went, so we didn't let this bother us.

"Prince Elif, Prince Birger, Young Mistress Eyvor! My deepest apologies for my late welcome and poor reception. Allow me to introduce myself, I'm the current manager of the Realm Auction House, and I'll be attending to you three, so if there is anything you need, ask me." Said a beautiful human woman with a veil covering her face as she bowed before them.

"Lead us to the Royal booth." Said Elif with a wave of the quạt tay.

"Please follow me then." Replied the human woman, quickly turning around and leading the way.

A short while later, the five of us arrived at the royal booth; it looked identical to the one at the gladiator cage; however, there were three thrones positioned in the middle instead of one.

"The contents of the items that are going to be auctioned off today are in the pamphlets placed on the table, and if you need anything else, I'll be right outside the door." Said the human woman with a bow before closing the door.

Sitting down in the middle throne, I levitated the pamphlet into my hands and began flipping through the pages, seeing if there was anything somewhat interesting, though just as I had predicted, there was nothing that I couldn't just easily get from the treasury; however, it seemed today was a special day for the auction house as they were auctioning off a mysterious item; still I didn't get my hopes up.

"Hmm, Immortal uranium, heavenly osmium, nine-leafed spiritual clover, it seems they are auctioning off some rare items; I might need to acquire these." Muttered Birger, sitting to the right of Elif while reading the contents of the pamphlets.

"I must agree with you on that, especially the nine-leafed spiritual clover, something incredibly beneficial for us Fairies. What about you, Prince Elif? Anything you find to your fancy?" Asked Eyvor, sitting to the right of Elif while also viewing the pamphlet's contents.

"Unfortunately, no; there is nothing I couldn't easily get from the treasury. However, if you're interested in the nine-leafed spiritual clover, I remember seeing a twelve-leafed spiritual clover in the treasury; I believe I also saw a couple of fifteen-leafed spiritual clovers." Said Elif, casually offering something precious like it was nothing, though, from his perspective, they weren't that precious as he has hundreds if not thousands of them in the treasury.

"I couldn't possibly be so shameful as to ask you to do that for me." Said Eyvor as her eye twitched from the significant difference in resources that an Immortal and Divine hegemony have.

While casually chatting about various things, mainly about cultivation, time passed quickly. Before we knew it, the large curtain covering the stage moved out of the way, signifying the start of the auction house.

"Hello, everyone, we, the Realm Auction house, appreciate your patience in waiting; my name is Ace, and I'll be the auctioneer for today. Now without further ado, let us start the auction with a bang!" Said Ace, an Elven man, enthusiastically, causing everyone at the auction house to focus on the lone man on the stage.

"For the well-informed, this right here is a nine-leafed spiritual clover, great for strengthening the soul and an important ingredient in crafting Divine and God-tier pills; as they're only grown within the depths of the Boundless Forest after several eons, they are quite precious. Starting bid will start at ten low God spirit stones; let the bidding begin!" Explained Ace while showing off a flower pot that contained the nine-leafed spiritual clover before beginning the first auction of the day.

"Twelve spirit stones!"

"Fourteen spirit stones!"

"Sixteen spirit stones!"

"How about showing me some face and allowing me to have it? Eighteen spirit stones!" Said a handsome druid sitting at the bottom row.

"F**k your pretty boy face, twenty-five spirit stones!" Yelled a giant blue golem with several scars across his body, which was quite rare in the Empire.

"Thirty spirit stones!"

"Thirty-five spirit stones!"

The price continued increasing at a steady pace until it reached fifty low God spirit stones; that's when people began to quit bidding, and when it reached seventy-five spirit stones, the people occupying the other private booths started bidding on it, causing everyone else to sit down quietly from how expensive it became.

"Seventy-eight spirit stones."

"Sorry, but I require the nine-leafed spiritual clover, eighty spirit stones."

"Well then, let's hope you're wealthy enough, eighty-four spirit stones."

"There is no need to argue, you two, as I'll be the one taking the item. Eighty-six spirit stones."

"Can you three stop beating the bush and start bidding for real? Ninety spirit stones."

"One mid-god Spirit stone." Said Eyvor calmly after getting bored from their talking, causing everyone to stop talking while the non-bidders below began murmuring.

"A young girl's voice coming from the Royal booth? Could it be Princess Elaine!?"

"No, didn't you see Prince Elif arriving at the Auction house? A Druid and a Fairy were accompanying him."

"Get your facts straight. Prince Elif wasn't being accompanied by JUST a Druid and Fairy; they were Prince Birger and Young Mistress Eyvor. Maybe you should visit a library sometime, considering you couldn't even figure that out."

Ignoring those people down below who looked like they were about to get into a fight, someone else finally bid against Eyvor, though they didn't sound too confident.

"Excuse my rudeness Mistress Eyvor, but I'm quite in need of that nine-leafed clover. Two mid-god spirit stones."

"Acquiring the nine-leafed clover will help me break through to the Divine realm, so I also need it. Ten mid-god spirit stones." Replied Eyvor, who managed to win the nine-leafed clover after easily outbidding everyone else.

"Sold to Mistress Eyvor. The nine-leafed clover shall be brought to the room within five minutes." Said Ace while the nine-leafed clover was wheeled off the stage into the back.
