Empathic Mimicry: Copying Apocalypse's Powers

The next day on a beach in Colombia, Raciel was sleeping while tanning himself in the sun. Suddenly a girl came to him and woke him up from his sleep.

"It's time. Wake up." Said the beautiful woman.

Raciel took a little bit to wake himself up from the drowsiness but managed to, so after standing up and wearing some sandals and a shirt he decided to leave for the United States.

"Thanks for waking me up." Said Raciel while leaving the beach.

"Don't thank me. If it weren't for the huge stone you gave me, I wouldn't have helped you much." Said the woman.

"Don't be like that, It wasn't only because of the diamond." Raciel teases a little the woman.

"Alright, it's also because you are handsome and you are delicioso en la cama." The woman then winked at Raciel and left the place.

This gesture made Raciel laugh and after that he teleported from there, scaring a few people who were close by or next to him. Raciel was going back to New York, to the Xavier Mansion.

But instead of teleporting straight to the Xavier Mansion, Raciel teleported closed by the mansion. Using Quicksilver's ability he went into slow-motion to get close to one of the X-Men members and put in their hand a letter that kind of explains what he did all that.

Of course not really the truth but the made-up truth that Raciel came up with to not mess up this world, at the same time he didn't know what type of consequences there would be after interfering in this world.

So he didn't want to mess up this world more than he already had, so after putting the letter to one of the X-Men Raciel left the Xavier Mansion and headed towards the city.

As for why head toward the city, it is of course to get some supplies for when Raciel is sent back to the apocalyptic world. This way Raciel doesn't have to worry about getting any supplies and just focuses on how long it has been since the apocalypse happened and how it happened.

Knowing this will be an important asset to Raciel because knowing when it happened would determine how long has it been and how much supplies there are left from the taking of other survivors.

As for the how it happened, it can determine how many people got infected and how many possible survivors they are left. Knowing all this can be a huge help in deciding how often Raciel should be doing these missions just to get a chance to get new supplies.

After arriving at the city the first thing Raciel does is change his appearance using Mystique's ability and using Quicksilver's speed to speed through every single store and get all the supplies and materials he needs to survive the apocalypse.

So Raciel started his free shopping in New York City, everywhere he went some items disappeared suddenly without leaving any evidence or any culprits to blame.

Just like that time went by until it was evening, Raciel then received a notification from his watch. A hologram projected in front of him with a notification.

[Assessing... Mission Complete!]

[Distributing rewards….. Returning to Home World!]

"Goodbye, World. Probably see you next time." Thought Raciel while looking at the sun setting down on New York.

Raciel then blacks out and when his vision came back, he saw the same place he was before. The same roof-top of an unknown building and down towards the streets the same disemboweled and bloody streets filled with corpses and zombies.

"Didn't time pass in here? Why is it the same?" Raciel wonders.

The place hasn't changed one bit since he teleported to the X-Men universe. It was as if time slowed down or was stopped in its entirety when he was sent to his mission world.

But no matter what Raciel couldn't come up with any satisfying conclusions because he wasn't prepared for this and he couldn't even determine the time when he didn't even know what day it was after waking up in this world.

"Forget it, dwelling on that wouldn't do much good. Let's just test if the ability acquired in the X-Men universe works here in this world." Thought Raciel after feeling a little nervous that his ability from the X-Men would work in this world.

If it didn't he would have been worried because that meant that his form of protection would dwindle because of the loss of his abilities.

So with a big and heavy backpack, Raciel looked towards the horizon close to another roof of a building, and while thinking of wanting to be there he used Kurt's ability.

With a puff of blue smoke, Raciel teleported to the roof of a building that was far away from his sight. Seeing that he could still use the abilities here, Raciel was relieved.

"I don't know what I would do if I couldn't use them." Thought Raciel while exhaling in relief.

Now knowing that he could use his abilities in this world, Raciel decided to explore the world bravely. The first thing he did was make sure to understand where he was, although it wasn't much help because he didn't know this place at all he still could determine that he was at the center of a busy city by the amount of buildings he could see far away.

"Why did it have to be in a city? If it was in a rural zone or a less populated area I would be happy because it wouldn't be as dangerous as a populated area." Said Raciel while looking down at all the zombies walking amis with no visible target.

Sitting down Raciel decided to take a small break and check the rewards from the mission of surviving 3 days in the X-Men universe through this small break.

Touching the face of his watch the same hologram appeared again.

Raciel then clicked on the Unclaimed reward right away. Three objects then materialized in front of him when he opened a box that resembled a gift.

Next, each item had a description displayed next to it.

[Skill Ticket]: A ticket that entitles you to a free skill redemption in the talent store. Only skill grades from grade A or lower are acceptable; grades above that won't be redeemed.

[Mana Storage Nucleus]: A device akin to an endless supply of mana that can be kept in reserve like a battery. By swallowing the bead, one can utilize this item to replace the body's natural mana storage, which occurs when mana is stored on the body.

[Skill of Mana Generation]: A skill that every person can acquire. Since this skill is passive, it has the potential to produce a specific quantity of Mana each day.

Raciel was unsure of what to think when he read the description of the awards because, while they were undoubtedly worthwhile, he didn't need them at this time.

Apart from what he can do with his abilities, he couldn't use the mana from the skill [Mana Generation] even if he obtained it.

He would be grateful for the expertise unless he had magical abilities that were beyond some of his own. The sole difference in the Mana Storage Nucleus is that it contains mana.

Right now, Raciel would receive a higher prize in the form of a skill ticket, which would allow him to redeem whatever kind of skill he requires.

"Used Skill [Mana Generation]." Thought Raciel.

Raciel noticed a change when the skill vanished from his inventory, he was able to permanently create a specific amount of Mana every day.

Raciel took the Mana Storage Necleus and consumed it, seeing that the skill was functioning as expected. Raciel felt as though something had taken hold in his middle gut the instant he drank it, and when he attempted to prod it, it felt like a bottomless hole.

Raciel then used this information to validate that the Mana Storage was operating as planned. All of this was only temporary because, despite everything, he hadn't yet seen the real effects, making it too soon to determine the skill's effects.

Raciel was going to leave the skill ticket alone for the time being. That was his plan. He intended to utilize it for the occasion when he needed it.

"Alright, let's see what we have in this building." Raciel then stood up after resting a little and having checked his rewards for the mission.

Raciel then approached the door and attempted to pry it open, but when he saw that it was immovable, he chose to take a less dangerous route than simply kicking it open.

"Let's see if I get this right." Raciel then focuses on the door.

Raciel was attempting to use Matter Manipulation, one of Apocalypse's abilities, for the first time. Being able to simply use the skill itself—not the experience of utilizing it—is one of the drawbacks of possessing Peter Petrelli's Empathic Mimicry ability.

As experience is something that is acquired through time and effort, Empathic Mimicry just copies the genetic code; it does not perform any other function.

Since you won't have someone to educate you or even the user of the ability, you'll need to start from scratch when learning how to use any mimic ability you replicate using Empathic Mimicry.

Raciel's ability to use Pietro's, Raven's, Kurt's, Charle's, and even Jean's is made possible by the fact that none of them are as complex as other abilities. Kurt's skills, for instance, require you always to see where you want to be and can go. The more you utilize the ability, the easier it is to teleport by instinct alone.

In the same way, Raven's talent works by having you imagine who you want to be or what form you'd like to be. The more you use it, the easier it is to shape-shift into whatever out of instinct.

What made him able to use Scott's ability is simple. Scott requires the quartz glasses to see because his ability is constantly on and cannot be switched off, regardless of what he does.

All Raciel had to do was activate Scott's power within himself and allow it to affect his eyes; as soon as he opened them, a laser beam emerged.

Raciel chose not to use this ability at all as he was unable to practice it in the X-Men universe because of the hate of the mutant populace and the anxiety of not wanting to be discovered by Charles or Apocalypse

Because of this, he had the ideal opportunity to perform Matter Manipulation on the door. If he had been successful, the door would have opened silently and he would have practiced his ability, killing two birds with one stone.

"Uff, Uff. Finally, I did it. This ability is harder to control than I initially thought." Raciel breathed heavily after finally managing to use Matter Manipulation to break down the door and set it to the side.

Raciel then took a little break from using Matter Manipulation, meanwhile, he looked at the lump of metal from what used to be a door and suddenly he had an idea.

Feeling a little bit better, Raciel then concentrated on the lump of metal and used once again his Matter Manipulation ability, and this time he was more skilled in using it.

Using half of the metal he made a katana, although the katana didn't have a handle due to not being an appropriate material for it. With the other half, Raciel made 6 knives like kunai, after doing all that he grabbed the Katana with his hand and the kunai stayed in his pockets.

Raciel did this because he forgot one crucial problem when he was looking for materials in the X-Men universe.

If Logan's healing factor can protect him from the zombie virus if it is a virus. Raciel is still a normal person so no matter how much he has abilities or how strong he is he would still lose focus and get scratched by a zombie.

And if he isn't immune due to Logan's healing factor then he is gone forever. That was something Raciel didn't think of while there, that's why he forgot to buy a weapon for self-defense.

That's why when Raciel saw the dark and almost creepy vibe that the stairs down gave he thought of having weapons and then doubted himself if Logan's ability was that useful.

Taking a deep breath, Raciel calmed down his nerves and decided to start heading down the stairs. Walking down the stairs Raciel noticed the place was too clean and quiet.

It was as if nothing ever happened here but that changed when Raciel arrived at the end of the stairs. On the wall next to the door there was a sign that read "4th", this meant that this was the fourth floor.

And when Raciel opened the door, he was shaken a little because what he saw was not what he expected. When Raciel teleported to this building he thought that this was a small office building and normally those places are more open making it hard for zombies or anything to hide in these places.

But after opening the door he noticed that this wasn't an office building but a hotel. This affected him because he wasn't yet prepared to face zombies head-on, more after knowing that this was a hotel, and he didn't want to leave any dangers when sleeping or resting.

"Relax, Raciel. Even if there are zombies I have abilities and I can kill them without any effort. I'm going to be alright." Thought Raciel after seeing the rooms for the hallway of the fourth floor.

Raciel stayed at the door of the stairs for a while before taking the courage to step into the fourth floor. Being inside still made him nervous but he still could feel assured having the Katana on his hands.

After arriving at the first door, Raciel first checked if he could open the door and after making sure that it was closed he used Magneto's ability to open the lock from the outside.

Having only tried this ability for the first time he wasn't as proficient as Magneto but thanks to learning how to use Matter Manipulation he was able to use it more easily.

Thanks to that he can move a certain amount of weight in metal and also performs some basic movements with metal.

After having opened the lock with his magnetic powers, Raciel then started to levitate the kunai he made. Just levitating 6 kunai wasn't as hard as he thought it would because instead of levitating and controlling every kunai individually he just needs to do it all together.

With the door lock open, Raciel managed now to open the door and check the inside. With a katana in his hand and the 6 Kunai floating around him made him a little assured.

Raciel then started to check every door that he could see inside this hotel room, from the door to the bathroom to the door of a closet. He even checks under the beds in case someone turns into a zombie after hiding under the bed.

As for how he opened the door, well the answer was simple. With telekinesis, although Raciel is using magnetic power just floating his 6 Kunai made it hard for him to do something else.

Raciel has become proficient at using his Empathic Mimicry, allowing him to use two sets of abilities simultaneously, ever since he Mimicked the abilities of Charles, Scott, Jean, Raven, and Kurt.

That's why he was able to replicate Storm, Pyslock, Caliban, and Apocalypse's abilities faster than before when he teleported toward Apocalypse after leaving Raven, Kurt, and Hank.

He could imitate all of Apocalypse's powers, of course, but because he was afraid and left early, he only stayed long enough to mimic a couple.

The reason he doesn't use two different sets of abilities, even though he is capable of doing so, is that while he can use two different sets of powers simultaneously, controlling those powers, which come from different sources, makes it more difficult to use and increases the possibility that they will spiral out of control.

Raciel primarily employs abilities that are comparable in nature, such as magnetism and telekinesis, for this reason.

That's the reason why he was confident enough to open doors in this hotel that may be filled with zombies because with his telekinesis he doesn't have to get closed to do certain actions and with magnetism, he could just eject the Kunai at fast speeds towards his targets.

just like that Raciel finished without any hitch and after resting for a few minutes continued on his quest of opening doors and checking for any zombies. Most of the doors that he opened were open from the beginning that's why he didn't use magnetism on the locks but for those that weren't, he had to use his magnetic powers on it.

After finishing checking every single room on the fourth floor he didn't stop there. Raciel rested for a few minutes once again and left for the other floors, that way he managed to check the third, second, and even the first floors.

Only resting every few minutes for each room and for each floor. It wasn't until midnight that Raciel finished with all the floors of this hotel and was sure there weren't any zombies.

What's weird to Raciel is that there weren't many blood stains or corpses on the hotel at all. It was as if it didn't happen.

"What exactly is going on? Why aren't there any zombies or corpses in this hotel but the streets are full of them?" Raciel wonders but does not have an explanation or clues he can't infer from to conclude.

After grabbing some of the supplies he brought from the X-Men universe, Raciel made himself dinner and after eating he was so tired from working none stop in checking every single room that he decided to sleep.

Raciel then selected a room on the first floor, dropped all his belongings into the closet, crawled under the bed sheet, and passed out.

Raciel dreamed while he was asleep about waking up from a dream and realizing that everything he had experienced had only been a nightmare from which he could awaken.

The next day Raciel felt a little weird, he felt his hands were bound and that he was upright. Moreover, he felt too sleepy for someone who had just slept.

Noticing that something was wrong Raciel immediately used Logan's Healing Factor. The healing factor took effect immediately because Raciel felt less sleepy until he could finally open his eyes.

When Raciel opened his eyes he saw the same place he was in before but this time, he could see the bed where he was supposed to be sleeping, and on the bed, 2 people were sitting there.

Seeing these people Raciel was scared, he thought they were going to rob him and then kill him like in series and movies so when he tried to stand up he noticed that he was bound to the chair with rope.

"Who are you? Why have you tied me up?" Raciel yelled at them after noticing that his hands and legs were tied.

To be safe for the moment Raciel kept Logan's healing factor active and also activated Quicksilver's speed. With this combination, he could react to whatever situation and even heal with speed in case something happened that he couldn't react to.

When the people heard Raciel yell, every one of them was surprised by that. They stopped doing what they were doing and looked at Raciel in surprise.

"Why is he awake? I thought you said he would sleep for about 10 hours." Said one of the men.

"But that is not possible, I gave him enough to sleep through the whole day. Even if he's resistant to it, it wouldn't be that fast." Said one of the women.

One of the men who was sitting on a chair, stood up and then came closer to Raciel. He then squatted down to look straight at Raciel's eyes and said.

"That is something that I would like to ask you. Who are you? and Why are you here?"

He then pointed towards the closet and said, "What's more, How did you get supplies in this place? For what I know this place was emptied a long time ago."

He then took a knife from a set in his tight and then put the knife in Raciel's leg.

"So tell me, Where is your base and what are your plans? What position are you in the Brotherhood? If you tell me I will spare you."

When Raciel heard all this he was confused for a moment, he could not understand a thing about what the man in front of him was telling him. But then he suddenly was happy because that meant he knew enough to be able to help him understand what had happened here.

"How many days has it been? How it happened? What state is the world now?" Asked Raciel excited without thinking.

The man looked at Raciel's eyes for a moment and without any hesitation he stabbed Raciel on the leg.

"Ahh! Son of Bitch! That hurt!" Yelled Raciel after being stabbed in the leg but he wasn't that worried about the wound because it would heal in the next seconds.

"I am the one who asks the questions." Said the man after stabbing Raciel's leg.

"If you don't want to tell me, don't tell me. I'll see for myself." Said Raciel then he switched Quicksilver's speed to Charle's telepathy.

But when the man heard what Raciel said he was confused, "What do you mean?"

But in this instance Raciel wasn't paying attention to what the man was saying, he was more concentrated on looking inside his mind.

"So your name is Enzo Lyon. What else?" Murmure Raciel.

Enzo was surprised when Raciel mentioned his name, "How do you know my name?"

Raciel still didn't answer, "You are from the Special Forces. I need more."

When Raciel said this the man stood up and was about to beat Raciel until the woman who injected Raciel with an Anestethic stopped him.

"Don't hit him. He is in a trance. If you hit him you'll wake him up and that would cause him to die." Said the woman to Enzo after grabbing his arm.

"But, but…" Enzo hesitated but he still stopped and waited for Raciel to come back from the trance.

All of a sudden Raciel's face changed, he went from curious at first to crying, "Anna, Elizabeth. No! please don't leave me!"

When the whole group heard this from Raciel they were stunned, even Enzo because what Raciel was saying was exactly what he had suffered before when he lost his family.

Raciel then came back to himself and then looked at Enzo and said, "Sorry for your loss."

"How do you know all that? Who told you?" Said Enzo almost sterical.

"You told me. You didn't want to answer my questions so I had to look into your mind." Said Raciel.

"What do you mean?" Asked Enzo confused.

'Isn't that mindreading?' thought the woman who stopped Enzo.

"Exactly! you are smart miss…. Darcie Statham." Said Raciel.

"How is that possible?" Said Darcie suddenly shocked by what Raciel said.

"It's just like you thought, I can read minds. Although I can do more than read them." Explain Raciel.

"Darcie, What does he mean?" Asked Enzo.

"It's just like you heard. For some reason, he can read our minds. I know this because I thought about it and he answered as if he could hear it." Said Darcie still trying to process what just happened.

"That's impossible. Things like mind reading don't exist." Said the other man.

"You're probably just guessing or you already knew all this you are trying to trick us to confuse us from the truth."

"Then how do you want me to demonstrate it?" Asked Raciel.

"Tell me what I'm thinking right now." Said the man.

"You are thinking about butter on bread is the worst combination possible. You prefer jelly or peanut butter on them." Said Raciel immediately.

"How is that possible? you can read minds!" Said the man surprised when he heard Raciel answer.

But then he suddenly saw the faces of everyone, "What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?"

The other woman put her hand on the guy's forehead, "Are you okay? You suddenly started talking to yourself."

"What do you mean? I was talking to that guy." Said the man while pointing towards Raciel.

"Adrian, that man hasn't spoken any words just now. It was just you talking all this time."
