Chapter 22 Sun and Moon Mountain Range 6

Ye Yan’s face contorted with anger as the elder chastised her. However, their immediate concern was the approaching Thunder Serpent. Ye Yan and Ye Tian were in dire need of protection, as they were no match for the creature.

Ye Yan, realizing the gravity of the situation, conceded, “Elder, I admit my mistake. But now is not the time to dwell on it. Let’s figure out what to do.”

The other elder agreed, “Indeed, we need to run for our lives now. Let’s hope the Thunder Serpent advances and doesn’t pursue us.”

They hastily moved forward, while Ye Mo and her companions had already covered some distance. They settled in a spot to rest, enjoying a meal of roasted chicken. Their tranquility was disrupted when several figures arrived at their campsite.

Ye Mo glanced at the approaching group, furrowed her brow slightly, and stood up, preparing to leave.

“Ye Mo, stay right there!” Ye Yan, full of anger, strode up to Ye Mo and raised her hand as if to strike her.

Yi Luo, annoyed by Ye Yan’s aggression, promptly grabbed her hand. Yilin also rose, finishing her roasted chicken, and addressed Ye Yan with a smile, “Have you forgotten the lesson from yesterday?”

“Let me go!” Ye Yan fumed, glaring at the three individuals before her. “Did you leave because you knew there was a Thunder Serpent?”

Yi Luo chuckled. “Are you joking? We simply thought that area wasn’t suitable for rest. If we could detect a Thunder Serpent, the two elders should have as well.”

“You…” Ye Yan’s anger only intensified after hearing Yi Luo’s response.

“Second Sister.” Ye Tian approached Ye Yan, tugging at Ye Mo’s sleeve, and wore a friendly smile. “Fifth Sister, the Sun Moon Mountains are quite perilous. We should stick together for safety.”

Yemo replied, “No.” She glanced at Ye Tian and continued, “I’m afraid that if we stay together, you’ll be too protective. We don’t want to be slowed down and meet an untimely end because of you.”

Ye Tian attempted to justify, “What happened earlier was an accident.”

“An accident?” Yemo sneered coldly. “Yilin, Yiluo, let’s go.”

“Understood,” Yilin and Yiluo responded before departing with Yemo.

“Let’s see who dares to leave!” Ye Yan bellowed in anger, launching a fireball toward Ye Mo.

Ye Mo strolled leisurely, but Yi Luo reached out and intercepted the fireball, adding her own power to it before sending it back.

“Second sister, watch out!” Ye Tian shouted, alarmed.

In response, Ye Yan executed a graceful aerial roll, narrowly avoiding the incoming fireball. The fireball struck a tree behind Ye Yan, causing it to shake but not ignite.

“I’m so furious!” Ye Yan stomped the ground angrily.

“Yan’er, the two maids with your fifth sister seem quite capable,” Prince Bailiqing said, trying to soothe her. “Don’t let anger cloud your judgment.”

“Your Highness, you have no idea how much Yemo vexes me,” Ye Yan complained. “She returned yesterday and immediately took my place, even having her maid injure me.”
