Chapter 7 The strong is respected 7

When Yemo said this, the second lady’s face turned extremely ugly.

Her second daughter currently resided in Yuheyuan, and the term “low-status” used by the little girl seemed to imply that her daughter was not deserving of such quarters.

“Mo’er,” the second lady took a deep breath, fixing her gaze on Ye Mo. She said, “Although the Qilan Empire acknowledges the distinction between concubines and legitimate heirs, it places a greater emphasis on strength. Yan’er is a junior two-star magician and a third-level warrior at the age of thirteen. Such strength is considered genius-level in the eyes of the imperial capital’s inhabitants. Yan’er’s status is the only one worthy of residing in Yuheyuan. Even if you, Mo’er, are a direct descendant, there’s nothing you can do about it because you’re a waste.”

The second lady deliberately raised her voice when she uttered the last two words, and there was a sense of relief in her heart as she said them. Regardless of her lineage, she was still nothing more than a waste, condemned to be an outcast forever.

“Is that so?” Ye Mo curled her lips and chuckled. “Let’s see which is better, your Yan’er or my maids.” With a sneer, Ye Mo said no more and walked directly past the second lady, heading towards Jade Lotus Courtyard.

As Yemo departed, the second lady became flustered. She didn’t bother to explain anything to Yezheng and hastily followed after her.

Yezheng stood in place, clenching the envelope tightly in his hand. He glanced at the butler by his side and said, “Handle matters here. I’ll go check on her.”

“Yes, sir,” the butler responded, casting a trembling gaze at the three heads. His heart was still in turmoil.

Yezheng didn’t say anything more and walked toward Yuheyuan.

In the pavilion next to the lotus pond in Yuhe Courtyard, a woman sat sipping tea, engaged in conversation with a handsome young boy.

“Second Sister, today is the day when that trash returns. Do you want to go and see?” The boy grinned as he took a pastry and placed it in his mouth.

Ever since the revelation that the General’s Mansion’s daughter was a waste during the three-year-old assessment, that “trash” had become their plaything.

Later on, she had been sent away by her father.

In a place like this, the life of a worthless person wouldn’t be much better.

Four years had passed, but they expected her to still be as timid as before.

That was fine; when she returned, they’d have an extra toy.

As the two conversed, they failed to notice the approach of three individuals.

“No,” Ye Yan said with a cold snort, holding her teacup. “I don’t know what Dad was thinking, but he actually brought that trash back.”

“Second sister, don’t worry,” Ye Tian chimed in, “Dad brought that trash back for a reason. She’s useful; don’t fret, that loser won’t last long.” Ye Tian remembered what their father had explained, and a sly grin played on his lips.

“Third brother, do you know something?” Ye Yan inquired, intrigued by his peculiar smile.

“Yes,” Ye Tian nodded, “I’m aware of it, and so is our eldest brother. But I can’t reveal it to you just yet, second sister. Soon, you’ll understand why Dad brought that loser back.”

“Is that so?” Ye Yan mused, looking at him. “From the tone of your voice, it doesn’t seem like good news. I’ll wait and see.”

“You seem to be enjoying your chat,” Ye Mo interjected from the side with a chuckle, speaking up for the first time.

The remark caught Ye Yan and Ye Tian’s attention, and they turned their gaze toward the little girl dressed in black who had approached them.

“Who are you?” Ye Tian asked, somewhat surprised by Ye Mo’s presence. Were there any unexpected guests in the mansion today?
