Chapter 9 Jiu Yezheng was now truly learning.
His daughter had undergone a complete transformation. She had become arrogant, bloodthirsty, indifferent, and had cast aside her emotions to become a cold and ruthless individual. How could such a drastic change occur in someone who had experienced life in the collateral branch?
Yezheng could never have imagined that the Yemo before him was not the real Yemo but a mercenary king from a technologically advanced planet.
Yilin’s strikes were harsh, and after several slaps, Yeyan’s cheeks were swollen and red. Bloodshot eyes appeared at the corners of her mouth.
Yeyan, with her face battered, angrily exclaimed, “You dare to have someone beat me up, you wretch! How dare anyone lay a hand on me!”
“Can you still speak?” Yemo raised an eyebrow, showing little concern.
Yemo’s silence was all Yilin needed to hear. She raised her hand and delivered another forceful slap to Yeyan’s face.
Yezheng and the second lady stood in stunned silence, while Ye Tian, standing nearby, tried to speak but found himself unable to utter a word.
Was this truly the Yemo they remembered? Had she transformed into a demon?
“Stop, stop!” The second lady stepped forward, her gaze fixed on Yemo. “You, instruct your people to stop, and Yuhe Courtyard will be yours.”
Seeing her daughter’s severely swollen face, the second lady was genuinely distressed, but she had no other recourse. Her hired assassins had all been defeated by the two maids and Yemo, revealing the extraordinary strength of these individuals. They couldn’t afford to act recklessly at this point and could only seek alternatives.
“That will do.” Yemo smiled and looked at Yiluo, who was holding onto Yeyan. “Let her go.”
Upon hearing Yemo’s command, Yiluo released Yeyan without a word, giving her a small shove in the process.
Had it not been for Ye Tian pulling her back in time, Yeyan would have certainly tumbled to the ground.
“Be gone.” Yemo’s gaze swept coldly across the group. “I don’t want any disturbances before dinner.”
“You…” The second lady was flustered but didn’t dare to linger. Yeyan’s face required immediate medical attention.
“Tian’er, help your sister. Let’s go.” After casting a venomous look at Yemo, the second lady turned and departed.
Yezheng remained rooted to the spot. He looked at Yemo and said in a composed manner, “That person is your sister. How could you subject her to such a beating merely for a few words?”
Yemo’s demeanor had left Yezheng frightened. She was like a sharp blade; anyone who crossed her path without permission would be dealt with ruthlessly.
“Was it excessive?” Yemo turned to Yiluo. “What do you think, Yiluo?”
Yiluo shook her head in response. “The second young master, who insulted the young lady, had her tongue cut out. A few slaps were mild in comparison.”
“Dad, did you hear that?” Yemo turned her head to face Yezheng, a smile playing on her lips.
Yezheng was taken aback by her words.
“Yemo, don’t be overly arrogant,” he cautioned. “This is the imperial capital of the Qilan Empire. There are many individuals more powerful than you or your maids. In a world where the strong are revered, arrogance leads to a grim end.”
“Hehe,” Yemo chuckled softly in response. “Daddy, do you also acknowledge that this is a world where the strong are revered? I thought you were unaware. Now that you do, I assume my second sister also understands. She is not strong enough to challenge me, so isn’t she simply asking for trouble?”
“In a world where the strong are revered,” Yemo continued, “I agree with those words. The strong are indeed revered.”
