Chapter 47: Major Awards 2
Tristan stood momentarily stunned upon hearing his name. The crowd's applause filled the room, but the third system prompt brought him back to reality.
[Ding Dong!]
[Achievement Unlocked: "Best Player in the Championship"]
[Achievement Rating: S]
[Reward: Player Skill Box]
Another player skill treasure chest? The thought swirled in his mind, but there was no time to dwell on it now. His attention shifted to his parents beside him, their faces glowing with pride. He smiled, stood up, and embraced them tightly.
"Tristan, I'm so happy for you!" his mother exclaimed, her voice brimming with joy.
His father gave him a hearty pat on the back. "Good job, son!"
Their happiness was contagious. Tristan felt a warm sense of fulfillment wash over him, knowing he had made them proud. As he pulled away from the hug, he noticed Jamie Vardy approaching with a wide grin. Vardy, who had been like an older brother to him at Leicester City, extended his arms and gave him a bear hug.
"Congratulations, man, you deserve it," Vardy said sincerely, the admiration evident in his voice.
"Thanks, Jamie," Tristan replied with a smile, feeling the weight of the moment sink in even further.
The awards ceremony continued, with the guests in the audience and viewers watching from home unanimously agreeing that Tristan's win was no surprise. He had beaten out his teammates, including Vardy and Danny Ings, for the Championship's Best Player award. His contribution to Leicester City's remarkable season was undeniable, helping them secure promotion by breaking records and winning the Championship ahead of schedule.
Despite not having played every game, Tristan's efficiency on the field had been astonishing. His ability to consistently make a difference during matches cemented his role as one of the most promising young talents in English football. It was common knowledge that if he had played more, his statistics might have been even more impressive. But even with his limited appearances, his blend of talent and potential had earned him the majority of votes for this prestigious award.
As the youngest player in Championship history to win both the Best Young Player and Best Player awards in the same season, Tristan had carved out his place among the league's most decorated stars. In just half a season, he had not only been named to the league's best team but also led the assist charts and received individual honors for his performances. Now, standing under the bright lights again, Tristan was called up to the stage to accept his second trophy of the night.
Holding the Best Player trophy in his hands, a wave of pride surged through him. This moment marked his official coronation as the Championship's standout player. He took a deep breath to steady himself before approaching the microphone.
"Wow, I really wasn't expecting to be up here again," Tristan began, his voice slightly shaky but filled with emotion. He looked around the room, seeing the smiling faces of his teammates, coaches, and family.
"I didn't prepare a second speech, so bear with me," he added with a chuckle, which prompted a round of laughter from the audience, easing some of his nerves.
"It's been an incredible season. I'm honored to be here with such amazing players like Jamie and Danny. I want to thank my coaches, my teammates, and of course, the fans. But most importantly, I want to thank my parents. Everything I've done, I've done to make them proud," he said, his voice cracking towards the end.
The audience erupted into applause. He lifted the trophy high above his head, beaming as camera flashes illuminated the stage.
"Hopefully, this isn't my last 'Best' trophy," he concluded, "because I have no intention of stopping here."
As he walked off the stage, the applause still ringing in his ears, Tristan's mind was already racing with thoughts of the future. Winning these awards was just the beginning. He knew that his ambitions stretched far beyond the Championship. His sights were set on conquering the Premier League, Europe, and eventually, the entire football world. And he had one secret weapon to help him achieve those goals: the system.
"System, add points!" he thought, mentally preparing for the next phase of his journey.
After the ceremony concluded, Tristan was pulled into an exclusive interview with Sky Sports. He adjusted his suit jacket as the reporter began.
"Tristan, first of all, congratulations on winning both the Best Young Player and Best Player awards! How does it feel to be the first player in Championship history to do so at only 18 years old?"
"I feel very honored. These awards mean the world to me," Tristan replied with a humble smile.
"Your performances have been incredible. Can you tell us who your football idol is or who inspired you the most?"
"That's an easy one. Beckham and Kaka. Their one of the reasons I fell in love with football," Tristan answered.
The reporter's final question was the inevitable one: "So, Ronaldo or Messi?"
Tristan stifled a laugh. Of course, it was the question every young player got asked at some point. While many would have an answer ready, Tristan felt a slight annoyance at the timing of it, especially after such a personal and emotional evening.
"I honestly can't choose between them," Tristan answered smoothly, keeping his smile intact. "They're both the greatest of our era. But so I choose another idol of mine, Zidane."
Now to Tristan, Messi was the best player in history even before winning the World Cup; however, until Messi won the World Cup, they were pretty close in terms of status.
The reporter nodded, satisfied with the diplomatic answer, and thanked Tristan for his time. As soon as the interview wrapped up, Tristan made his way backstage, where he was greeted with even more congratulations from players and staff alike.
Not long after, Leicester City's social media pages were flooded with pictures of Tristan holding his two trophies, and the official EFL website prominently featured him on their homepage. Fans and fellow players alike showered him with praise.
"Player of the Season!"
"Well-deserved!"
"What a talent!"
"Can't wait to see what he does in the Premier League!"
Once back in the privacy of his hotel room, Tristan tossed his trophies onto the bed and checked his phone. It was filled with congratulatory messages from his agent, coaches, and teammates. He even received texts from players like Harry Maguire and Jesse Lingard.
After responding to everyone, Tristan took a selfie with his trophies and posted it on social media, captioning it: "What a special night!" Within minutes, the post racked up likes and comments, but Tristan closed his phone, feeling content.
"Alright, let's see what new skill you've given me," he muttered under his breath as he opened the system's [Character Panel] and navigated to the [Props Bar].
Without hesitation, he selected the player skill box.
[Do you want to open the player skill box?]
"Yes," Tristan mentally confirmed.
[Ding Dong!]
[Congratulations! You have obtained the A-level skill: Outside-the-Box Specialist!]
[Skill Effect: Shot accuracy outside the penalty area is significantly increased.]
[Representative Player: Toni Kroos]
A wide grin spread across Tristan's face. The system had done it again, giving him another powerful tool to help him in his quest for greatness.

I know this chapter is a bit shorter than usual, and I apologize for that—I quit working on it for a while before picking it back up. To make up for it, I'll be posting two extra chapters this week. In the meantime, don't forget to check out the Patreon for 45 advanced chapters and daily updates. Drop some comments, power stones, and maybe even a review while you're at it! Also, let me vent for a second—the amount of brain damage I had to endure trying to find the proper name for the skills whenever this Chinese MF does something, like what the fuck are those names. Fuck this shit, use the proper name, like, goddamn, is it that hard? Your already using the English name might as well commit to it, fucking piece of shit.
