Chapter 125: Want
After reminding them to get plenty of sleep and discreetly reminding Roxanne to come to his room later that evening using the chat function, Vahn parted ways with the trio, promising to return the following morning at 5 AM sharp. Shortly thereafter, he found himself in the nearly emptied lounge, where Himmel was waiting for him alongside a petite woman with off-white hair fixed into long pigtails, pointed ears that denoted her status as an Elf, and green eyes that appeared to exude apathy but without the cold callousness that commonly accompanied it. She was also dressed as a Mage, outfitted in a striped white and black shirt, a long-sleeved white jacket with gold trim around the cuffs tucked into a white, gold-trimmed skirt, a black belt, thick, bluish-black leggings, brown leather boots that covered most of her calves, and a white, gold-trimmed mantle matching the theme of her jacket and skirt.
Rising to his feet, prompting the white-haired Elf to do the same, Himmel smiled politely and expressed, "I'm glad you could come, Vahn. Allow me to introduce you to one of my Party members from outside the Tower, the Great Mage, Frieren."
"Of course. And it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Frieren," stated Vahn, offering a courteous bow and smile as Frieren stared at him with an impassive, unchanging expression.
"What are you...?" asked Frieren, causing Vahn to raise his head and right brow as she plainly remarked, "The density isn't very high, but the quality of your Mana is unlike anything I've seen. Are you truly a God in the guise of a human?"
"Some would have me become one, but I've been avoiding it," responded Vahn, the corners of his smile curling playfully. Then, shifting his gaze to Himmel, he asked, "Is there anything in particular you wanted to discuss? If not, I should leave the two of you to enjoy your time together."
In place of Himmel, whose smile promptly cramped, it was Frieren who flatly replied, "I was the one who requested that Himmel invite you here, as I have many questions that he could not answer satisfactorily. Will you afford me some of your time?"
"Sure," responded Vahn, nodding. He was growing weary of being asked to answer questions all the time, but since Frieren was the first to visit the Tower as a guest, he supposed he could make an exception for her. What he didn't expect was for her to turn to Himmel and state, "Then I will see you tomorrow morning or once you've returned."
"Alright," responded Himmel, offering a slight nod before turning to Vahn, adopting a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes, and stating, "I will leave so as not to be in the way. Enjoy the rest of your evening."
Confused, Vahn asked, "You're leaving? Why? I don't see any reason the three of us can't sit and talk together."
"Mn...I suppose that's possible..." conceded Frieren, a shadow of a frown marring her face as she stated, "But we've already exhausted much of my limited time. I would prefer to make efficient use of what remains."
"I get that," responded Vahn, exhaling from his nose as he revealed, "But the reality is that I've made plans to meet with someone else. If I have to leave suddenly, you'd be left here alone."
Closing her eyes and exhaling a faint, nearly imperceptible snort, Frieren asserted, "I am not a child that requires coddling or constant attention. I will be fine, even if I am left alone for a few hours."
'That's a strange point to make...' thought Vahn, turning his attention to Himmel as the latter, sporting a somewhat weary smile, expressed, "It's fine, Vahn. Please accompany her for as long as you're able. She and I will have plenty of opportunities to speak once I return."
Without waiting for Vahn's response, Himmel offered a slight, closed-eyed bow before rising to his full height and departing with a smile. At the same time, he requested a telepathic link with Vahn, appending [I apologize if I have inconvenienced you. Frieren can be strangely willful at times] once it was accepted.
[It's fine] responded Vahn, sitting across from Frieren as he questioned [But, just to confirm, you have feelings for her, right? I need to know now since my Charisma is somewhat absurd. If you're not in a relationship with her and have no plans of entering one, I can't guarantee we won't end up having sex at some point.]
Though there was a brief pause, similar to radio static, Himmel eventually affirmed [I fell in love with her at first sight, but there is a tremendous gap in our ages and respective lifespans. She may not look a day over twenty, but Frieren is well over a thousand years old. Even if I were to confess to her, she either wouldn't take it seriously or would dismiss me outright as I will invariably grow old and die while she remains eternally young and can potentially live forever.]
[I see] responded Vahn, reacting to Frieren's first question but investing most of his focus on his discussion with Himmel, stating [But, now that you're an Ascendee, attaining immortality or prolonging your lifespan for tens of thousands of years are more than possible. If you truly fell in love with her at first sight, you should pursue her.]
[Perhaps] responded Himmel, his telepathic voice faint and full of emotion as he expressed [But the last thing I desire is for my feelings to become a burden or a shackle on her heart. Elven courtships typically last centuries, and most only come together to produce offspring. I fear that if I were to approach her before we've vanquished the Demon King, she might accept my feelings out of obligation but never truly reciprocate them.]
[Does that matter?] asked Vahn, ostensibly leaving Himmel at a loss as another round of static lingered between them. So, instead of waiting for a response, Vahn reasoned [Love is something that can be cultivated. If Elven courtships take hundreds of years, court her for hundreds of years. It might take time, but once your feelings get through to her, you'll have thousands more to cherish together.]
[I would like that] affirmed Himmel. [But I have a duty to the people of my world and the King that tasked me with defeating the Demon King. Frieren is a free spirit whose sole interest is researching strange and niche Magic Spells. If she were to join me in the Royal Capital—]
[You're surprisingly dumb] remarked Vahn, cutting off Himmel before he could continue making excuses. It could be because he was avoiding the responsibilities foisted upon him in the outside world, but hearing Himmel place duty ahead of love annoyed him. Assuming he triumphed, he would have saved his world by defeating the Demon King. Anyone who expected more from him after that should be dropkicked in the face.
[Listen] started Vahn, his suddenly serious expression causing Frieren to raise her somewhat thick eyebrows as he added [There is nothing more important than being true to oneself and embracing those closest to you. Duty and responsibility are shackles imposed upon you by others for their benefit. There is nothing wrong with abiding them, but if even a Hero can't attain happiness or the love of the woman he holds dear, what hope does the average person have? It's okay to be a little selfish, Himmel. Because the world doesn't abide an imbalance. If you can't offset hard work and effort with play and rest, you will either break, set an unrealistic example for others to follow, or see yourself devolve to become a villain.]
[You sound like someone else from my Party, a Priest named Heiter...] remarked Himmel, his voice containing humor and a hint of repressed exasperation.
[But, perhaps the two of you are right] conceded Himmel. [However, as I do not wish to leave a wound on her heart if we fail in our task, I will hold onto my feelings until the Demon King has been vanquished. Until then, I have little say in who she chooses to spend her time with, both during the day and at night.]
'I'm beginning to understand why some villains loathe Heroes...' thought Vahn, suppressing the urge to shake his head and massage his forehead in exasperation. A small part of him wanted to teach Himmel a lesson by persuading Frieren to accompany him to his room, but since he regarded the former as a friend despite the brief period they had known each other, he did his best not to come across as too charismatic as he and the petite Elven beauty spent the better part of four hours chatting about more than just the Tower. She was keenly interested in the existence of other worlds and their unique systems of Magic, so if Roxanne hadn't messaged him to inform him she was on her way, they might have spent the entire evening and subsequent morning immersed in increasingly informal and engaged conversation...

After teleporting back to his room using the Return function, Vahn opened his door to find Roxanne standing patiently outside with her hands folded atop her lap, a narrow-eyed and slightly flushed smile blossoming across her face as she stated, "I've come for my reward..."
"And you'll receive as much as you can endure..." affirmed Vahn, moving aside to permit the voluptuous Wolfkin to pass. She had arrived wearing her Maid outfit, but the moment he closed the door behind her and turned to face her, she promptly unequipped it, revealing scant, pale pink panties and a matching lace bra.
"Someone's excited..." remarked Vahn, approaching Roxanne and placing his hands on her warm and soft waist. Then, as she had turned and tilted her head with closed eyes, he didn't hesitate to reward her with a kiss, his hands caressing up and down her sides before transitioning to her front to rub her abdomen with his left and her slit with his right.
Releasing Roxanne's lips after several minutes, leaving her red in the face and breathless, Vahn adopted his most smoldering smile as he quietly but firmly warned, "If we continue past this, you may never be able to escape me, and I'm not talking about just a few years. I won't stop you from living as you please or resent you if you choose a path that diverges from mine, but I am a very thorough lover...once we have sex, you may not be able to be satisfied with other men..."
"I only need one..." Roxanne affirmed with a sigh, her blush deepening as she parted her lips hungrily. The entire time, Vahn had been dexterously rubbing and gently kneading her clit, so she was very quickly reaching the limits of her patience.
"Then tell me how you want it..." said Vahn, reaching up to cup Roxanne's remarkably pillowy right breast with his left hand as he brought their lips closer but didn't kiss her.
"I want it deep and rough...and if possible, I want Mast—I want you to fill me with your superior seed..." panted Roxanne, causing several questions to appear in Vahn's mind. Instead of asking them, he gestured toward the bed with his chin, stating, "Then present yourself and appeal to me..." in a deep, reverberating tone.
"Gladly..." responded Roxanne, separating from Vahn and quickly moving to the bed. There, she crawled onto it, but instead of positioning herself using her hands and knees, she lowered her head to the bed and used her hands to slide down her panties before moving her tail aside to reveal her eagerly awaiting pussy...

[Nine Days Later]
Feeling something hot and wet wrap around his dick, Vahn roused from his dreamless slumber, unsurprised to find Roxanne providing an eager and increasingly skilled deepthroat. He had never asked her to, but ever since their first night and subsequent morning together, she had taken it upon herself to wake him in the same manner.
"Well, good morning to you too..." hummed Vahn, habitually caressing Roxanne's soft and fluffy hair. In response, she released his dick with an audible pop before straddling him, swallowing the entirety of his cock in a single go and smiling as she replied, "Good morning~" with slightly glazed eyes and a notably flushed face. She had been a virgin on their first night together, but ever since, she had been the one aggressively pursuing him. Lucky for her, Vahn was happy to reciprocate, so long as she worked hard during their training and didn't act libidinously in front of Riko and Fran...
