Eren's Ascension

Eren felt bewildered with sudden and intense fluctuation of mana around him.

His mana sense activated as he searched through surrounding to find the cause of this abnormal situation, his mana vision observed lump of dense mana shrounding Alena completely.

On the other hand Alena felt confused, more than that shocked. Her own body shrouded in prismatic glow of dense golden mana and her body developing in abnormal way.

She realised what was happening and also why it was happening but knowing it and understanding it were two completely different things.

Her thoughts clouded with Eren's word, his face and his emotion, as if she couldn't care less about her body and this upcoming change.

She was more concerned for what her heart was implying and that caused her great emotional turbulence, her heart mostly calm as if she had found a long lost answer but some corner still confused, shocked and worried.

Her thoughts had no end but Soon the golden light surrounding her faded and her fox body became visible again. A bit changed but mostly same.

Eren observed her, little surprised with something changed. Her fox body still as large as before but now with two pair of feathery wings on her back with ninth tail finally manifested.

Wings over her back, white and shiny. Like that of purest of angel. Upper pair of wings long, wide and big and lower pair, starting it's root covered under the upper pair. Lower pair A bit long, thin and sharp.

Her tails still long and fluffy but now total nine of them, in their complete glory. Alena felt her changes as she flexed her wings to get the feel of it.

Little bit a control and power, just like that she leaped and her figure dashed in air. Wings didn't look but their powerful wind pressure shot her body thought air with no effort at all.

Alena danced in the air as her wings swept thought air like sword, swifting her body in every flexible angle. She observed beauty of the white forest from above, shining under moonlight but that wasn't enough, her wings pushed further with bit more strength and soon she found herself piecing throught clouds like rocket, her vision towards the moon with complexity in her eyes.

With this she was more close to achieving her goal yet her mind completely blank or rather occupied with one thing in particular.

She was just flying above then suddenly as if her heart changed, she stopped and looked below. Vast world of clouds and without much of thought she let her control over wind go. Her body fell, yet as if that wasn't satisfactory. She pushed her wings back and her fall accelerated beyond her control.

She fell like meteor, pressuring ground below but before her huge figure would crash, her powerful wings stopped her at very close distant. Alena gently landed on ground and what followed was the powerful gust of wind.

Leafs rustled creating symphony of night, eren would've fell on his butt if not for support from tree.

Alena's Red eyes perplexed as she observed eren walking towards her with his doubts and confusion.

" You have wings now." Eren was really surprised, obviously since he didn't even knew animals much less monsters. For isolated little child this was quite unexpected finding.

Alena's eyes closed as she remained silent for a moment, analysing her emotion. She calmed her distressed heart and looked at eren with smile.

" See, didn't I tell you I'll get my ninth tail." Her voice cheerful and happy as if all her solution were found and she was back to her usual self.

" But how did this happen?"

" Easy, For cultivators physical and mental capabilities are very important as it is directly proportional to one's growth. For me my physical limitation are let's just say, I don't have any physiological limitation but psychological stress is different thing.

With that little chat of ours I've found some answers for my unresolved questions, I have reached a new stage in cultivation." Eren didn't get what she meant, He knew nothing about teaching in cultivation.

" I helped?" Eren doubted.

" Yes, so what were you saying before?" Asked Alena, dwelling her focus in eren much more than she ever did.

" I.." Eren said it upfront to tell his story but now that it came, his words choked in grief.

" Wanna aknow about my life?" Sensing Eren's difficult situation, Alena spoke something inordinary. She would never do this yet this change that had followed were abnormal one.

" You really have lot to learn and so do I, so I'm trying to understand myself better by understanding you.

What do you think is appropriate name for this absurd situation?" For Eren's small age, Alena didn't expected him to understand any of her words but surprisingly eren smiled at her.

" Isn't that love?" Eren asked yet there was no doubt in his soul, Alena looked at him and smiled back.

" Does that mean I'm in love with you?"

" Not entirely but it's not completely wrong either, humans cannot understand themselves unless they interact with others. And the one we find compatible is whom we really love.

If you really want to understand me so much, doesn't that mean you value me. Isn't that love?

But I didn't expect, you needed someone so desperately." Said eren trying to understand her little more.

" I didn't knew that as well." Alena was surprised by his understanding in human emotion. Was he really 10 year old child.

" How do you feel?"

"I feel joy after so long now that I have you." She felt genuinely happy and couldn't help but say it out loud.

" Wish I could say the same but I can't, you are too demanding and annoying." instead getting angry, Alena just laughed at his remark. She knew he was partially joking but with obvious critics within it.

" so we both were gonna share stories of past, weren't we?" Said Alena, getting back on topic.

"....." Eren remained silent for moment, his past experiences made him wary but current situation was progressed far beyond.

He was ready to trust again.

" I'll tell you but it's nothing great." said eren, His heart heavy and head pulsating.

" ..."

" Name eren Salvatore, you know that right?" he joked but past memories started stinging in his heart.

" My parents, My mother died giving birth to me so I never met her but my father, he hated me for being born. Guess he loved my mother really very much so he blamed me for her death.

I had a brother, yuta. 5 years older than me. He was kind to me." beautiful smile on Eren's face as yuta's smiling face appeared on his memory but that was quickly changed to sorrow.

"My father left us when I was 6, since then we two lived alone, Yuta did manial jobs and I was too young to do anything so I did house chores.

One day he came home wounded and poisoned, I begged a lady to help my brother and she accepted my request in exchange for my eyes.

But she couldn't help him, she said poison was spread too much and couldn't help." Eren's disturbed heart pulsed, his throat choked with regretting memories.

He couldn't say but his face conveyed all what's needed and Alena understood it.

" Then aunt sera, she was neighbour aunt who helped us in many ways. She was family.

She was a vampire. That she hid it but the guy who came with that lady exposed her secret and killed her." Tinge of anger as what liam said resurfaced but more than that loss of aunt sera throbbed in his heart.

"She died just like that." His words shaky.

" She took your eyes and that guy killed your aunt?" Alena was martyre, living alone and immune to others pain but Hearing Eren's word disturbed her heart.

" That I gave her myself, I didn't wanted to see the world where my brother wasn't with me and aunt sera." Eren laughed in pain.

" Would you do the same again." She knew this emotion so well yet aligning herself with eren gave her sense of comfort, afterall she was the same.

" If that would bring them back then yes, I would do it as many time as it takes." There was no doubt in his heart, he loved them with all his being.

"...."

" Nina too, That girl from week ago. She was so much like my brother. Happy, funny, stupid and caring. She helped me after I lost my eyes.

I wanted to pay her back for all the help but I'll never be able to do that." His heart heavy, weighted with self blame.

" I lost my family too when I was young." Said Alena, she didn't act like others. Trying to comfort him.

" I was young, princess of Artena kingdom. Loving mother, strict father and numbskull of two older brothers." Small smile as she described them.

" But Game for throne is dirty. politics, revolts, internal conflicts and assassination.

My father and mother was assassinated, My brothers changed as they thirsted for power and didn't realise the real cause of this situation." She showed saddened expression for their death but more than that anger towards her brothers.

" Those idiots didn't even realise that there was a traitor among us. No king and queen can be that easily assassinated unless there were inmates.

I was 15 with no authority, My only duty like any other princess was to get married off for mutual alliance.

So I hid behind my innocent naive looking princess facade, Watching my brothers tearing the kingdom from inside.

Waiting for those outsiders to make a move and I found him, the traitor.

Wanna guess?" Her expression fierce, Anger and ecstacy mixed into something like bloodthirst.

Eren couldn't answer, she was reading thought her life like reading a story with barely any emotion.

Didn't she feel anything?

" Ohh I felt those emotions too eren, I was so angry, sad and powerless but thousand years changes lots of things. Now it's just distant unpleasant memory." she read him like book, answering his doubts.

But Eren didn't understand, how could he understand the thoughts of someone so old?

" Any guesses?" question still raised as she asked again but eren shook his head.

" He was my father's best friend, the prime minister of artena kingdom. For his own selfish interest he pushed us into state of civil war.

Obviously he was just a pawn, real perpetrators were neighbouring kingdom named arecia." She was angry, her eyes fiercely burning with hatred.

" Let's just say that after a year when I took everything in my hand, Problems were resolved." just like that all the fire was gone. She didn't say any further and story ended.

" What did you do?"

"....." Alena didn't say anything and laid her huge body, yawning in lazy manner.

" Hey tell me."

" Alena... hey hey hey.. tell me..."
