Eren's Ascension

Mesmerising evening, and since it's winter sun is already ready to vanish into horizon at early 6:30 PM.

All the monsters and creatures are returning to their habitat and nocturnal monsters are preparing for hunt.

As usual white forest seems calm and beautiful, hiding the most dangerous beings within.

Eren is cutting the fruits, unaware of conversation outside. He could pry but that is not in his nature.

Natalie's face pale from hearing Alena's word.

what made her life misery, what drove her to oppose her own family, what is haunting and eating away her will is her unawakend bloodline.

Especially for dragons, prideful to core. As explained before, unawakend bloodline asura is just human. It was obvious she was treated harshly for not standing up to her parent's standards, being unawakend. Something to which she had no control over.

People were stupid and arrogant, They valued their bloodline and strength over their child's love.

Leaving those depressing topic aside, Natalie recalled her words again.

" I didn't hear it wrong, did I?" She asked, still not believing it.

Afterall she never heard of technique that could awaken bloodline.

"No,I can help you."

" Is that even possible?" Asked Natalie shocked.

" Ofcourse, Bloodline awakening is natural and case such as yours are rare but even so it could be solved.

That is of ofcourse certain individuals wish for it." Said alena, Her eyes closed as she implicated something valuable.

" Who?" her heart beating even more rapidly with anticipation.

" Your family, ofcourse." Bucket of cold water splashed all over natalie's hopes.

" Your parents, you share their blood and genetics, their mana could be used as shock therapy to manually awaken your bloodine.

Ofcourse it will be painful, you know foreign mana and all but it's still possible.

All you need is similar bloodline mana that would wake your latent bloodline." Said alena but more she explained, more natalie's hopes died down.

" But they would never-"

" I know, You seem noble and yet they didn't help you, shows they are either stupid or just plain heartless even though they're rich." Alena deducted seeing her expensive teleportation device and highest grade mana stone.

Even knowing why they didn't help her, Natalie felt even more sadness clouding her heart.

" But, We can help you" Said Alena when eren came back, placing the food tray on table and sat beside.

Natalie had no appetite now, even though Alena reassured she felt scared for some reason. Eren remained unaware of their conversation.

" How?" Asked Natalie with clear fear, she feared the pain and she feared the exponential amount of money she'll ask for in return.

Eren was curious but he didn't wanted to intervene, he just sat there drinking the tea he prepared slowly, savouring it wholeheartedly but then sense of inexplainable fear washed over his psyche.

He immediately looked at Alena, only to see her smiling at him, ready to bring bad news crashing down.

" No..No.. Don't say anything." He was genuinely scared what she'll ask him to do now.

" Relax it's nothing much." Eren tried relaxing, but ofcourse he didn't believe her at all.

" You just gotta sleep with her." eren nearly broke the tea cup in his hand with unexpected wording.

Natalie was scared out of her wits, She feared if this was genuine or just their scam to defile her.

" What?" Asked Eren, a bit scared and angry.

" As I said, Sleep with her.

You share part of her bloodline and it can help awaken her own bloodine." said alena, explaining it as shortly as possible.

Eren could guess this to be plausible but better question he asked himself and Alena,

" Why?"

Eren felt angry, At the fact that Alena wanted him to sleep with someone else.

Alena felt strong reaction, her own heart at unrest.

She wanted to convey something really important news but didn't had a courage but now it was unavoidable.

Clenching her fist tightly she spoke,

" Eren I'm leaving."

Eren's world shook, His eyes trembled in fear of what her words meant.

" My strength have far exceeded this world's limit.

When ones power is about certain level above the regular strongest, a calamity appears.

Do you know why?

Because ones that cultivator is dead the mana will again meet the world, that is natural cycle.

But if someone is even stronger then they are forced out of this world in defence, they'll be sent to higher world.

And this is Ascension." Alena explained what eventually happens, eren remained silent.

He had no words to describe his uneasiness.

" It's better lose part of mana rather than have world being destroyed." Spoke Natalie, explaining why such occurance happened in the first place.

It was true, at the end world followed basic instincts. But as much as it was shocking to Natalie, it sounded truest to eren that Alena was strongest in absolute sense.

Eren felt confused, it was all going smoothly when another big event came crashing down.

Confused on what he should do? And what's going to happen now.

Alena moved closer to him, holding his hand gently as she met his eyes.

"Are you so weak that you can't live without me?"she said, it wasn't what eren expected.

It hurt more than he accounted.

But weak in real, he had no words to reply.

" Is it wrong to be weak?" He asked, he knew this weakness was love that he held towards this woman and he didn't question this weakness.

" Yes it is." She said, not what he expected.

" look at yourself eren, You've lost so many things, so many people yet you still hold on.

Why?, because of me." As much as happiness she felt, she also felt anger, her words laced with fire.

"But what if I were to die or go away, because it's happening, for real.

What will you do now?" Her loud voice and pressure she exerted shook Eren's body violently, but eren had no words or action to retaliate.

Alena grabbed his collar, pulling his face closer as she nearly shouted.

" If you don't even value yourself then how'll you value someone else.

I told you didn't I, be selfish.

Life is big, I don't want to be your life but only part that you always remember.

And I want the same from you.

We all have our life to live and I am going, this is what I choose.

Whether you accept it or not." Alena almost broke out in tears, her eyes wet but she held his face closer. Making him see her truth.

Hearing what she said, understanding it to be extremely easy and plausible, eren found her wording perfect.

He had his own life to live, how?, it depended on himself. Similarly he had no authority to control other, not even the woman he held dear to his heart.

But knowing it and accepting were two different things, his heart never wanted accept such future but what could be done.

" What can I say?" He said, his words genuinely sad and defeated.

" Nothing." he answered, recollecting his whole life. Pushing Alena's hand away as he observed his own pale white hand.

A memory of his brother's smile resurfaced followed by the pain of his death. Eren sighed heavily but a moment and he again became the guy who kept his emotion in check.

" It's because I love you that I'll let you go." He said with a smile.

" But as you said, we all have our life. I'll wait till I remember your face and then I'll move on." He didn't meant it wholeheartedly but at the corner of his heart, he knew this possibilities of such occurance were high.

" You seem already moved on." Joked Alena, afterall both were aware what reality was.

Ascention is rare occurance, afterall defeating a calamity and surpassing is no joke.

Eren might not even become strongest, much less defeat a calamity. At the end odds of him living here and never ascending is ridiculously high.

" What can I say, I am a fast learner." He said, although Natalie found it strange how fast it was resolved, she genuinely felt happy for Alena but she didn't realise the inescapable hesitation in their heart.

But Natalie again realised what truly was the topic at hand.

Eren looked at her, her face tinged with fear and smiled as he spoke,

" I'm not interested but you are." Natalie knowing exactly what he meant but just like this two, she also had her choice to make.

To rise or to fall.
