Eren's Ascension

Darkness in terrifying.

Visionary senses are blocked and every nerve is alerted. Hands reach out to feel the surrounding but only thing that blind grasp is pity in his despair.

Most People and I mean normal, those who are not blind- don't fear it unless they see it, feel it and experience it. But true horror only starts when light is gone.

Most horrifying part is not the darkness surrounding us but that which lurks inside us.We sure fear the unknown, especially if that can't even be seen.

For eren everything is dark. Outside as well as insides. Within few days he has lost everything.

Levy said to look for answer of life at journey's end but is it really worth to walk all the way to end like this, weak and broken.

Such question arose in his heart with no answer in his reasoning, but for everyone those questions were hard to find solution of and he gave up.

Other thoughts which occupied his mind was about Nina and levy, Eren was smart for his age and understood the choice levy made for him but being smart didn't made him emotionally detached.

He hated levy, resented him, pitied Nina for her unforeseen future with levy and hated his own powerlessness.

Eren was reminiscing in past when he heard noices in distant, he wanted to run fast ahead but even walking made him stumble in forest.

He had first hand experience of pricked sharp thorns, falling by vines, slamming on tree and even small animals which disturbed him greatly.

Being blind and alone did not turn out the way he expected, well he was naive enough to storm out alone with pride.

He walked watching everystep, feeling ground with stick and carefully being supported by surroundings. Noises grew louder till it became clear for eren to discern them as annoying laughter.

His muscle tensed and heart nearly stopped. He walked closer when all the present noticed his presense.

" he looks fresh." Woman's voice rang, filled with intense desiring pleasure it radiated into Eren-unerving him even more.

" No you had your feel, it's my turn now." another woman spoke, her voice loud with hint of anger.

Another few voices rang, Few men and another few women. Each discussing as if they were trying to decide who'll eat last piece of meat.

Eren's heart sank in well of fear when he heard a weak voice slipping out from a corner.

" Eren-" voice so weak like sound of mosquito but for eren, it was louder than any lightning.

" Nina!!, Nina , is that you? Ninaa!!!" Eren cried for response only to hear sickening vampires laughters.

" Haha....you know this woman?" A male voice, another vampire with his mad laugh and creepy smile.

" Jason..she's a child, not woman."

" You telling me that after ripping her arm off yourself." Despite how reactive they seemed, all that was just fun and chat.

" Nina!!" Eren's mind spining in fear, he didn't wanted to imagine anything more but what liam did to sera resurfaced in his memory, causing him even more disturbance.

'Why?' he thought, such twisted fate and God knows where he took wrong turn to end up here again.

" You know him too, the guy. He was pretty eager to sell this woman.

Tck..tck.. pathetic worm, how could you treat her like that?" Jason spoke to the man lying on ground, his both legs torn crudely and eyes crushed.

Jason's Fake anger and disappointelment would make anyone seeing puke in disgust. The more eren heard him more volatile his mental state became.

" Nina!!" Eren couldn't understand, his lips called out in unrest.

" Come on brat, do you speak anything else?" Another male vampire with his irritative voice spoke.

" Shut up Nova, Give him some time afterall that's when he'll be more delicious."

" I don't understand anything you say jason."

" Asshole, blood is everywhere but we don't drink from packet, why not?, because humans are emotional being. " his creepy laughter resounded in the group. Eren's world span as it slowly turned grey.

" They love profoundly." ten meter radius surrounding him now rested grey.

" Their love make them fear for others." non living things remained pitch black in grey world.

" Fear that eats away their life and they drown in despair." green life force shone brightly in grey world.

" Their blood mixed with despair is a delicacy I enjoy the most." Jason licked his lips with a smile.

Green lights became clear shape of humanoid figures. there were 15 lights. Two dimly lit, rested to tree and slowly loosing green paricles from what seemed to be shortened limbs.

That was blood that flowed out profusely, finally loosing it's vitality.

" What was his name? levy yes levy~ He was true disappointment. Instant he felt his death, he bargained the life of this woman for his own." Jason again kicked unconscious levy on the face, he didn't felt enough of his despair. He wanted more as he gazed Eren hungrily.

" That's a lie, he wouldn't do that." eren refused, unknown of his behaviour last night. Where he left two kids to become food for monsters. He came back but that was the extent of his last bit of humanity. Everyone had limit to their niceties and his ended in face of danger.

" You don't believe me?, ask her- let me take you to her." he dragged eren and later didn't had any control to resist.

" Nina.. sweety, Tell him what that asshole levy did?"Jason crouched and spoke in alluring voice and caring face but it was nothing but an act.

Eren knew that, as well as Nina who remained silent. Her view in life was changed significantly,

However inhuman vampires were straight faced evil but what about levy, his nice facade crumbled in face of death and what emerged was monster who bargained to sell barely fifteen year girl.

Human monster, to Nina all of them were same. Lies or not but just monsters.

Eren's felt her life dimming bit by bit, slowly loosing it's texture and luster. He knelt down, subconsciously reached her face-wet in tears.

Similarly Nina also held Eren's arm, feeling the warmth that for second brought her crumble mind to ease, her hand torn apart and several wounds all over itched with pain yet at this moment she felt relaxed, finally finding the warmth she craved all her life.

" Eren, Did I tell you a story about my brother?" unimaginable pain that assaulted, made her cry yet her face shone brightly with a smile.

" I don't LIKE THIS.."

Pshh...

Flesh piercing sound was heard, silencing Eren's breathing in a heartbeat.

Jason, He couldn't bear to see someone resisting his control, he couldn't watch Nina smile in this pain. So plunged his hand in her chest, ripping her heart out in anger.

" Shit I didn't meant to end it that easily." Jason smiled apologically to his colleagues.

Eren saw green light vanishing, finally as black mass of humanoid figure rested- devoid of all life.

He couldn't understand what happened or maybe he just didn't wanted to face the truth, the brutality of vampires.

Hand holding his arm dropped and with that his heart had another crack, His emotion disbelief then sadness and finally ignoring all sentiments and logic, reaching absolute rage towards the unfairness done towards him and innocents.

He wanted to rip apart those who did this, he didn't back away and stood up, leaving Nina's smiling lifeless body.

He walked towards Jason, watching him crush the heart and enjoying what remaining of her blood was left in. Jason saw eren, finally showing the anger he expected and in response licked his lips, as if welcoming the delicious meat that would soon fell in his mouth.

But Eren, unaware of his thoughts walked closer and closer, his hand cluched into tight fists and teeth gritted angrily. Neither he had eyes to express his burning rage nor the words to express disgust.

Now he couldn't care less about his own or levy for the matter, he just wanted to burn in fury of hatred.

' Here's a gift for you.' melodious yet creepy female voice rang in his head and he knew damn well who it belonged to.

'Nine tail fox.' A though that passed as fast as it vanished, afterall he didn't had time to leisurely analyse the creature's word but one thing that he felt was absolute power.

Unending and unyielding power slowly rising from his soul, his body felt heavy but at the same time strong enough to crush anything.

His vision in mana sense became even more clear, and world became slow. The grey he saw moved or to precise those particles were moving slowly constantly but now eren became sharp enough to observed those moment.

The time slowed downed or to be precise his perception of the reality hastened, aura of the remaining fourteen became dim but limiting, no longer as intense as before and each showed a glow of orb inside their chest.

Ten orange, three red and one yellow coloured orb shone inside, eren could feel that with his enhanced vision as well as he understood its importance.

Those light radiating orbs were their source of power, their mana core.

But having this power gave him nothing but more sorrow, Such power existed but not to his disposal. If he had it earlier then maybe, just maybe he would have saved Nina, he could have protect her the way she did but he couldn't fulfill his debt.

Eren's wasn't a hero of justice, he understood it better than anyone how those selfless pricks picked betterment of humanity over their own family, over their own self.

Eren's wasn't such child, he grew up listening story of Arthur wayne- hero who saved the villagers, freed them with the cost of his own life. He admired him but reality he saw was different than that of hero.

Nobody extended helping hand to save his brother and those who did took something very precious. He understood cruelty firsthand, Eren wasn't hero but selfish martyre who'll even face the world for his loved one and this very well is a situation of such kind.

" gaahh.."

With all the power he could muster, he shouted at top of his lung and dashed ahead, directly running to Jason. Not only Jason but others were also surprised by his accuracy despite being blind and explosive speed but that was it, not something they hadn't encountered before and was enjoying the fun.

Jason slowly moved his hand in grabbing motion, expecting him to run in like an idiot and eren was nearly caught if not for his or rather nine tail fox's beastly inticts. Eren dodged and passed Jason with explosive burst of powerful dash and went infront with female vampire.

She didn't expected such situations but again, they were experienced in fight and unexpected situations. This wasn't something new to her and so instant took defence position, trying to dodge his punch and ready to strike back but what she didn't accounted for was accurate power in eren. For a moment Eren's intent and anger exploded which resulted in increase his power even further and before that female vampire could do anything, Eren's small fist struck her abdomen, bursting her organs into bloody mess.

Eren's didn't had time to be happy, not that he enjoyed this anyway and so he moved behind her. His face stoic with no emotion yet at the same time aura around him expressing his intense fury.

His muscle tightened and body fatigued only by this yet he grabbed on to her hair, pulling it and nearly ripping her scalp apart in scary manner.

He didn't feel anything holding someone else's life, no guilt, no pain and no power and with another powerful punch he shattered her head into disfigured gore.

Just moment passed, everyone's breath stopped in horror. This was no longer just unexpected but incomprehensible. Their own died by mere child, whose not even awakened yet. They felt scared but taking the number as advantage into consideration, calmed and thought to clear this hurdle.

Jason, along with others were no longer as relaxed as they were before.

Eren took a deep breath, relaxing enough to get ready for next target and without any plan, he pounced on another female.

Yes, she along the with the one who died before was red core cultivators, weakest. Eren didn't had any plans but maybe his heightened insticts made him meticulous as he attacked weaker one to gauge out the real strength of others.

Before other could intervene, Eren's unexpected outburst in power and speed already subdued the woman and she died, getting her chest crush with all of Eren's fury.

By now eren was surrounded by remaining eleven, ready to be shot down by archers but from the very beginning Eren's advantage was his hidden speed and power.

And thus began another night of horror.
