Exiled Young Girl’s Territory Development Record: The Result of the Villainous Young Lady Who Was Exiled Before the Scenario Began and Did Whatever She Wanted for the People.

Chapter 2: The Exiled Young Girl Teaches the Bullying Village Chief a Lesson

After enduring a hellish twenty days jostling in a terribly uncomfortable carriage that felt almost slower than walking, we finally arrived at the capital of the Scarletford Barony, Scarletford.
Despite being called a capital, Scarletford is a small village situated near a stream flowing through a forest, surrounded by walls taller than an adult man.
“Marie, look at that wall. It’s huge!”
“Yes, indeed. This forest is said to be the Forest of Demons.”
“Wait, does that mean Scarletford is located inside the Forest of Demons?”
The Forest of Demons is a large forest spreading from the north to the west of the country, inhabited by many magical creatures.
By the way, magical creatures refer to beings that use magic to attack humans or livestock. Although most of them only use physical enhancement magic, they still pose a threat to the majority of ordinary people who cannot use magic.
“Yes, that’s correct. So, Scarletford is considered a frontier.”
“A frontier?”
“It’s like a base for driving out the monsters and claiming the territory as our own.”
“Ah, I see. So, does that mean that old man gave up on this village?”
“Formally, it would seem so…”
“Oh, I get it. He must think that if he sends me here, I’ll die quickly. Then the title I received will return to him.”
“My lady…”
Marie’s expression became very sad.
“It’s okay, Marie. It’s not worth worrying about. People with black hair and eyes are disliked anyway. And besides, it’s strange to be treated like a father figure by someone I just met.”
As we were talking, we heard the driver’s voice from outside.
“We’ve arrived. Please disembark.”
“Thank you.”
We got out of the carriage. It seemed we had arrived at a square where villagers had gathered, dressed in rather shabby clothing.
They were probably just curious onlookers drawn by the sight of the carriage bearing the Southberry Marquis’s crest.
Hmm? Why aren’t there any young men around?
The men here are all middle-aged or older, and there seem to be more women than men.
Could it be that the young men are out working in the fields?
“Now then, since my orders from the master are complete, I, the driver, will take my leave. Scarletford Baroness, I am at your service.”
The driver said this matter-of-factly and then turned around and headed back the way he came.
We were left among the onlookers.
“Scarletford Baroness?”
“But they’re both women…”
“A child?”
“Black hair and eyes…”
“But they look like nobles…”
“You there! What are you doing? This person is Lady Olivia, the new Scarletford Baroness and daughter of the Southberry Marquis!”
“Eh!?”
The onlookers looked at each other in surprise before they slowly knelt down before us.
“Greetings. I am Olivia Ainsley, now the Scarletford Baroness. Please treat me well, everyone.”
I introduced myself with a courteous and confident demeanor, just as Marie had taught me.
“By the way, where can I find the village chief?”
The onlookers exchanged uneasy glances, and one of the men pointed to a somewhat larger house facing the square, speaking hesitantly.
“The village chief lives in that house…”
Why are they being so vague?
“What about the village chief?”
“Oh, what’s all this commotion?”
Suddenly, a giant of a man, at least two meters tall with a menacing face, appeared, accompanied by several other similarly unsavory-looking men.
“Village chief!”
“Ah? Why are you all kneeling before this kid?”
“Well, um… it’s because this young lady is the Scarletford Baroness…”
“What!? This little brat!?”
The giant man stared at me, scrutinizing me from head to toe.
“Hmm? Fine. If I take her down, then I’ll be the Scarletford Baron, right?”
What is he talking about? If he did that, he’d be executed for killing a noble.
“Hey, kid! Let’s have a duel for the title!”
“…You’re so rude to challenge me without even introducing yourself. But if you’re betting the title, what will you bet?”
“Hmph! If I lose, I’ll become your dog or whatever!”
“Fine. If you’re the village chief, then making you submit will be the quickest way to handle this.”
“My lady! This kind of unlawful duel!”
“It’s fine, Marie. A person like this won’t obey just by talking. It’s better to settle it quickly.”
“Then at least let me be your representative!”
“No, I’ve got this!”
I ignored Marie’s protests and stood before the self-proclaimed village chief.
“Oh? No representative, huh?”
“I don’t need a representative for someone like you.”
“Hmph! I don’t care! That tiny body of yours will crumble with one hit!”
“Oh, are you scared of a little girl? How pathetic, with that big body of yours.”
“Grr! You little brat! I’ll show no mercy!”
The giant man, red-faced, charged directly at me.
Ah, he’s falling for such an obvious provocation. Doesn’t he know not to mess with a mage?
Especially a dark divine mage like me.
After all, dark divine magic can interfere with the soul.
In other words, like this!
I bound the giant’s soul.
“Gah!? M-my body…”
The giant fell face-first while still in mid-charge. Being bound by the soul makes it impossible to move the body. Breaking free requires a greater magical power than mine, which is impossible for someone without magic.
“Boss!”
“Chief!”
The giant’s lackeys cried out in a way that didn’t sound like they were talking about their boss at all.
“Who charges straight at a mage like that? What a fool.”
I took out the sword the giant was wearing on his waist.
Ugh, it’s heavy… but!
I placed the sword at the giant’s neck and smiled confidently.
“So, do you admit defeat?”
“S-such a…”
“Hm, not admitting defeat? Then―”
“I-I concede! I concede!”
“Good. Then you’ll keep your promise. You will obey me absolutely. Now, swear it to the gods.”
I cast a magic circle and forced a vow. The giant’s face showed clear terror as he saw the dark and ominous magic circle.
“Wh-what…?”
“This is divine magic.”
“Divine… magic?”
“Yes. It’s magic connected to the powers of the gods, not spirits. Once you swear, you cannot break that vow. If you refuse, you’ll face the appropriate punishment according to the kingdom’s laws.”
Which, of course, would be execution.
“I-I understand! I will obey you!”
“Your name?”
“Will! I’m Will!”
“Very well. Will, from now on, you cannot defy me.”
The magic circle absorbed into Will and then vanished.
“Now, Will, first show me to the village chief’s house.”
“Why are you, aahhh!”
Will screamed loudly as if trying to resist my command. Sweat dripped from his forehead.
“Will, I command you again. Show me to the house.”
“H-hey…”
Phew. That’s settled. It’d be troublesome to execute the village chief immediately.
