~ Ashina POV ~
Even though I am no longer in the world of Naruto and that I can no longer feel chakra in the environment, I still had access to my own chakra. I spent many years isolated from the inhabitants of this world as I wanted to figure out my danger level to this world.
Yes, my danger level. Not for nothing, but by the time we reached the final battle, I was at the strength level where I could stand toe to toe against enhanced Juubi Madara and Gate of Death Might Guy. I could even go against the combined might between Naruto and Sasuke. But alas, too bad I wasn't born with hacks.
While at my peak I could rival all the main characters, my chakra level, however boosted it was due to my Uzumaki-Senju lineage, could not keep up. I was already exhausted from the battle with Kaguya and yet Naruto and Sasuke could still spam high level jutsu's like it was nothing.
Anyways, after years of isolation, I found out that ethernano had similarities to chakra. Not only that, some of the ruins of this world looked mighty similar to the various hidden villages across the Shinobi world.
Which means that it was not that I woke up in a new world, it's just that the Naruto world over the years had changed into the Fairy Tail world.
It seems that whatever the tailed beasts did, while they had saved the world, they've changed a fundamental aspect of it as well. I should mention that the passage of over 10,000 years probably helped to facilitate this change, but let's not sweat the small details.
Now that introductions and info dumping are out of the way, I should probably visit Mavis right about now. Feeling for one of the Hiraishin mark that I left on Tenrou Island, I channelled my own chakra and activated the jutsu.
Appearing beside her, I noticed that she was still concentrating on ensuring that the spell would not go through any complications. Leaving her be, I turned my attention to the rest of Fairy Tail.
I walked over to the family circle and took a closer look at each one of them. Out of all the members gathered, Gildarts was easily the strongest. I'm not even kidding, he could by himself take on the rest of the guild members without even breaking a sweat.
Laxus was the closest to Gildarts in terms of sheer power, followed by Erza. The rest of them pale in comparison to these three. Dragon Slayers withstanding because those kinds are another form of hacks. I then walked to the centre of the circle where I noticed some writing that looked familiar.
Taking a closer look, I realized that these were the sealing formula that bound the spell together. But this shouldn't be possible. I walked back over to Mavis and inspected her wrists, where the actual formula should have been, only to be surprised at what I saw. Or rather, what I didn't see.
Huh, it seems Mavis had found a way to separate the sealing formula from her person and then find a suitable medium to withhold it. Once again, this should have been impossible because she did not possess chakra. Without chakra, she should not have been able to remove the sealing formula, let alone move it to a different location.
Of the three Grand Fairy Magic, Fairy Sphere was the only one in which I helped to create. Instead of following the laws of ethernano, I chose to follow the laws of chakra. In doing so, I had managed to not only enhance the spell strength itself, but also create a sub-dimension where the users of the spell would be transported to.
However, without the person possessing chakra, they would not be able to move while within this dimension, let alone feel the passage of time. Mavis would have been the only being that would not be affected by this as she was not a physical form, but rather a condensation of the ethernano in the surrounding.
For all intent and purposes, they would have been stuck in time just like how it was in the original canon, while Mavis would have been the only one there to know about it.
If that was the case, then why did I bother helping to create this spell with chakra-based laws?
Well, when Mavis first showed me this spell, I noticed that whoever it was that would use the spell would be trapped in time while a barrier would prevent others from noticing the location of where the spell was used. Even if by some miracle they had found the location, they would not have been able to penetrate said barrier.
But then again, I did not want to take any chances. I've already changed one nexus event by saving my wife from her fate, so I needed to make precautions to ensure that this nexus event remained intact. Although, through very careful planning, I had managed to minimize the butterfly effects of my action. Well, as much as I could anyways.
And so, using fuinjutsu, I was able to create a sub-dimension for the spell instead. It was a sure way of keeping the brats on Tenrou safe, while making sure that the nexus event occurs.
Completing my inspection, I made my way back to Mavis and sat by her side, waiting for her to finish checking on the spell.

Okay I'm bored. Hmmm, let's see. Why don't I draw on some of their faces. That way when the time limit for the spell runs out, they'd be confused as to how the drawings got on their faces. Yes, I shall commence 'Operation: Facepainting because I'm bored' right away!
~ A few hours later, Mavis Vermillion POV ~
"Eheh, ehehehe."
Stirring from my concentration, I could hear the perverted giggling of a familiar voice. Opening my eyes, I took in the sight of the one person who I had been wanting to see for decades, drawing on the faces of one of my guild members.
"Yes, some whiskers here, some whiskers there. Maybe a monocle for Gildarts. Ehehehe."
I felt a vein mark popping up on my forehead as I took in the absurdity of the situation. If he's here, that means he'd either been watching the battle earlier, or he had placed a tracker of some sort into the sealing formula to let him know if this spell was ever used.
And knowing his personality, I'm willing to bet my life that it was the former.
While he was still distracted, I took the opportunity to 'sneak' up towards him. Who am I kidding, he probably already knew that I was finished and just doesn't care for punishment.
In that case. . .
Stopping just behind him, I grabbed his attention, "Ahem."
I could see his entire body vibrating violently for a split-second as he registered my voice. Really, for someone as old as him, he still acts like a child. What am I going to do with him.
He slowly, and mechanically turned his head. With a smile, he answered. "M- Ma-chan, you're awake!"
Instead of replying, I simply held my dead-stare. After a moment, comical sweats began pouring down his face as his smile began wavering. Seeing as how dark storm clouds were beginning to form over his head, which I have no idea how he was able to do it after all the years we've spent together, I decided to let him off easy.
"What am I going to do with you, Shin-niichan."
