Commentary on Chapter 41. Seven. Part 3. Escape.

 Enjoy your reading!

Covering the book, Eros got up from his chair and carried it back to the shelf.

"I didn't think it would take me as much as six months to reread the entire library, that was too fast..."- After stretching a bit, he threw his backpack on his back and with a slight smile, he was about to leave this Heavenly Library.

It had turned out to be a great place after all, he had finally found some extra material on runes and now Eros would be able to further improve his skills in them. There were even records of the runes that had been placed on the walls of the Library, and just the combination of them made this place a real bunker that was almost impossible to penetrate, but instead could be hit very hard, because the walls reflected 75% of the damage. This was something Eros had verified from his own experience.

During these six months, Eros was able to draw only one rune, the rest required practice and good materials.

The Titan had also found a few records of Grimoires, though nothing specific, just references in various historical books. But still, something Eros could find was a record that the last time such a thing was seen in Bosco. So he decided to go to the Artefactor's Guild there.

There were also a lot of records about Zeref and his demons. But most of it looked like fiction and fairy tales, so Eros rejected it. And those that remained were few, for example, about "Lullaby" - a demon that is sealed in a flute, but the sad thing was that it was missing and the location of this "treat" is unknown. The second thing that interested the titan was the dark guild "Tartaros", the book said that there were only demons in it, but the location was also unknown.

There were also records of the Star Spirit King, but only a little, and he was compared in power to Zeref. But Eros thought this was a lie, for the Maiden had made it clear that the titan was equal in strength to their King. And he doubted very much that he could defeat this Dark Mage, but only if he did not use all his strength, but even so, the titan was not sure of his victory.

All in all, Eros had a very good time in the "Library of Heaven" and learnt a lot of new things that might come in handy in the future.

- Mr Eros! Please stay! - Five old men ran onto the floor in a panic and shouted almost in unison, looking at the titan with pleading eyes.

- Leave me alone! I'm not going to stay here! I have learnt everything, I have nothing more to do here!

- Please don't leave us! You'd be wasting your talent! Stay, we're ready to appoint you as the head of the Heavenly Library! Everything stored here will be yours! A genius like you should enlighten the world with your knowledge, and you can just die out there!

- I am so sick of you! - And why did I get involved in your stupid argument?

It happened a month ago, when Eros helped to settle the dispute of these "splinters in one place", and then, after answering a few more simple questions, they began to call him a genius and "an angel that came down from heaven to enlighten the whole world". During the last month they had already bored the titan so much that he was reading twenty hours a day to finish everything as quickly as possible and almost never stopped to eat or rest.

Once Eros had even frightened them with his power, or rather tried to. As soon as they felt the volume of his magic power they trembled and ran away, but a day later they came back and looked at him with a real fanatical gleam in their eyes. And then Eros realised that he had made the stupidest mistake of his life, for Kuld had joined them, and he demanded a fight.

- How did you even know I was going to leave?!

- Hohoho... - stroking his beard, the old man laughed with a bit of superiority in his voice, - Don't take us for fools, we've been following you every day and saw which book you started and which one you finished, we realised long ago that you were going to escape as soon as you read all the books, because you have a photographic memory! You only have to read a book once to memorise its contents!

- Get out of my way, or don't you think I'll try to get past you?! - Eros hissed with a bloodthirsty grin.

- You could do it, but you won't.

- Oooh... Really? Would you like to test it out? - The titan's entire body reeked of murderous intent, and a dagger appeared in his hand.

For a moment the old men hesitated, feeling threatened, but pulling themselves together, they covered the passage with their bodies.

- We will not allow you to leave Mr Eros, and if you are going to leave, only through our corpses! - The old man with the beard covered his eyes when he saw the titan move, but the next moment, he felt a slight breeze and when he opened them, he froze. Eros was no longer in that spot, and to their right was a window open wide open.

- Is he crazy?! That idiot jumped through the window! That's almost nine hundred metres!

At that moment, Kuld ran up to the floor.

- Where is he?! - He looked around in a panic and asked.

- He escaped through the window..." one of them replied in a despondent voice.

- Too late!

- He can't fly, so he'll probably be hiding somewhere in the city!

- No..." the blond shook his head as he sniffed around the room and walked over to the window and froze, "That bastard can fly!

- WHAT?!

- I can smell his scent in the air...

- How many secrets does this kid have?

***

"Fucking old people!"- Eros thought with annoyance, leaving the capital at a fast speed in the direction of Bosco, this country is just next door, - "We should fly as far away from the capital as possible and take a break, because in two or three weeks to sleep only twenty hours is not good ..."- for a moment he felt a slight dizziness, - "Yes, and with glasses too much..."

After flying for about five more hours, he began to descend. There was a huge forest below him, that's why Eros had chosen this place, because it was almost impossible to detect him here, and the magical background in the forest, even more reduced the chance of detection. So the titan was able to relax a little and having erected all kinds of defences and signalling devices, he fell asleep almost immediately.

Nine hours later.

Eros opened his eyes sharply and looked to the right. Someone had tried to disable the "alarm" discreetly. And in the next moment, apparently realising that they had been exposed, Eros abruptly did a backward somersault, dodging the golden beam.

- You've run away quite far, - a group of mages came out from behind the trees, headed by Kuld, next to him stood a man in silver armour, decorated with many precious stones, and on his chest was a golden engraving in the form of two crossed swords, - But this is the end of our chase, so I suggest you go back quietly.

- You've been quite prompt, but I'm sorry, I refuse.

- I knew you'd say that! - We've been ordered to get you back in one piece, but I don't think if I break your legs these old men will be too upset.

- Kuld! We have orders! - said the man in armour with a frown.

- I don't give a damn about your orders! And if you try to interfere in our fight, I'll deal with you on the spot! - he lunged forwards with his fist in the air.

"Straight punch, right?"- Eros easily stopped the wizard's fist and threw him aside. But the man landed on his feet and leapt forwards sharply and attacked again.

His blows were very strong, but the titan easily dodged the attack and just threw him away. Though Eros could feel that with each passing moment, the man in front of him was getting stronger.

"Interesting..."- the titan felt Kuld's strength growing with each passing second, but it was still too little to make Eros fight at full strength.

The mages that stood by and watched Kuld being played with felt only shock and disbelief. After all, they considered this man to be a beast incarnate and a very powerful S-rank mage, as well as the number three in strength in the entire kingdom.

"Golden Dragon Roar!" - When the titan threw him back again, the one still in flight abruptly turned towards Eros and shot a golden beam from his mouth.

"A dragon slayer... This is the first time I've seen one in person, it would still be a good idea to study it up close..."- he put his hand right in front of the beam and created a small transparent shield. As soon as the beam collided with the shield, it just couldn't penetrate it," That's all you can do? I never realised dragon slayers were so weak!

- Don't you dare insult me! - With anger, the mage exclaimed and rushed forward.

As soon as he was in front of Eros, his hand turned gold and Kuld tried to strike the titan in the face, but he easily blocked the mage's blow with his palm and slapped him with his other hand, throwing him aside.

- Re-armour! The armour of the God of Speed!

The blade of a blade appeared before Eros's eyes, which he clasped between his thumb and forefinger with a slight smile on his lips. A pair of shock-filled eyes stared straight at the titan.

- K-how?

- You're pretty fast, but that's not enough to beat me.

- I TOLD YOU NOT TO INTERFERE IN MY FIGHT! - exclaimed the dragon slayer with rage, rushing forward and throwing the armoured mage away with a single blow. - I'LL KILL HIM MYSELF! The golden dragon roared!" Eros was close to Eros, and he fired another beam from his mouth, straight at the titan's face, and jumped back.

- He did it? - The armoured mage said in disbelief, holding his side.

- So much for you, you fucking upstart! Now you know who's the strongest!

- You? - As soon as the dust settled, a completely unharmed Eros appeared, looking at Kuld with boredom, -You're too weak to call yourself that.

- H-how? How did you survive? - With a shaky voice, the dragon slayer said.

- It's MAGIC, my young padawan!
