Chapter 107: Domineering
Magnolia
Members of Fairy Tail were searching every corner of the city for Laxus and his companions.
"Hey, Alzack, any luck?!" Jet and Droy from the Shadow Gear team rushed over, spotting Alzack nearby.
Evergreen had petrified Levy from their team, threatening a dear friend's life. They wanted to tear Laxus apart.
"Not here either! Where could they be?!"
"Got no clue at all!!"
Alzack's face was grim. "Damn it… those bastards… I won't forgive Laxus for what he did to Bisca!!"
In frustration, he kicked a crate of fruit, scattering it everywhere.
"Calm down, Alzack!" Droy urged.
"Calm down? How?! We've only got three hours to beat Laxus!!"
Suddenly, a magical enchantment rose around the three of them, forming a barrier.
"Crap, what's this?!"
"A barrier?!"
"Is Freed's script here too?!"
A line of text glimmered across the barrier:
[Rule: Only the strongest mage can leave the barrier.]
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"It's telling us to fight each other?!"
"No way! So dirty, Freed!!"
Alzack's voice came from behind them, cold and determined. "Sorry…but I have to save Bisca. I can't afford to stay trapped in here."
At the Fairy Tail guild, Makarov watched what was happening through the magical text feed. His body shook. "Why are they fighting each other?!"
Laxus grinned. "How long can you bear it, old man? The guild you created—where everyone's like family—is now at each other's throats. That family you boast about can't withstand any trial.
"Only strength is truth! Let the weak be weeded out!"
All across Magnolia, fights like the one between Alzack and his friends were breaking out.
"Looks like something's off with Fairy Tail."
"What's going on? Members brawling all over the city…"
"This isn't some casual spat—these fights look serious!"
"Will the magic parade still happen?"
Just then, Su Yan walked by, and some townspeople called out to him: "Hey, Su Yan! What's happening with Fairy Tail? And what about the parade?"
Su Yan, well-known in town, paused briefly, offering a small smile. "It's just a little scuffle—nothing we can't handle. The parade's still on, so please look forward to it."
He considered unleashing a massive Conqueror's Haki wave to knock everyone out at once but decided against it. One way or another, these fights would happen, and those who insisted on fighting would just have to learn the hard way.
Meanwhile, Elfman roamed the streets like a headless chicken. "Where the heck is Laxus?!"
He then caught sight of Evergreen—the very one who'd petrified Mira and the others—standing nearby.
"Evergreen!! You bastard! If you're a real man, don't take hostages! Turn my sister and the others back, now!!"
Elfman roared, charging at her. Evergreen merely lifted her glasses. Elfman quickly dropped his gaze, remembering how easily she'd petrified others.
Evergreen flicked open her fan and launched a strike.
"Ah!" Elfman was knocked to the side, slamming against a flower shop display.
"I love flowers. They match me so well," Evergreen said lightly.
Grunting, Elfman used his Take Over magic, morphing his arm into a beast's. He also tore some cloth from his clothing to tie over his eyes.
"Release my sister and the others."
"You think you can defeat me while blindfolded?" she scoffed.
But Elfman's ears twitched, locating her footsteps. "Over there!" He lunged, smashing a fist into the ground.
Boom! Debris erupted.
"Tsk, how foolish. You're already caught in my Fairy Bomb—'Glimmering Scales'!"
The scale dust around them exploded in multiple blasts.
"Aaarrgghh!" Elfman cried out, collapsing.
"A man who can't even protect his petrified sister dares call himself a man? Pathetic," Evergreen said.
Suddenly, a calm voice spoke up beside her. "What about you? Proud of turning guildmates to stone in a sneak attack?"
Evergreen stiffened, quickly hopping backward. She saw Su Yan standing where she'd just been.
"S-Su Yan…" She swallowed. He was the one who once defeated Laxus, and Laxus deemed him an enormous threat. Evergreen doubted she could handle him alone.
Elfman, half-conscious, muttered, "B-Brother Su Yan, save my sister…"
Su Yan nodded. "Don't worry, I'll save Mira and the others."
Hearing that, Elfman finally let himself pass out.
Su Yan turned his intense gaze on Evergreen. "Undo the petrification magic. Now."
Evergreen narrowed her eyes. "Su Yan, you're so overbearing. I have no obligation to obey you."
"Overbearing, huh?" Su Yan shrugged. "All right—let me put it differently."
Om—!
Boom—!
A shockwave of Conqueror's Haki flared around Su Yan. The ground quaked, the air trembled, and his eyes turned razor-sharp as he glared at Evergreen.
"Listen up. If you don't want to die, reverse the petrification. I won't warn you again."
Evergreen's heart nearly stopped at the sheer pressure radiating from him. She felt like she wasn't facing a human at all, but rather some monstrous force of nature. She recalled the rumors of Su Yan, the Undead Demon Emperor of Fairy Tail—his strength was no idle boast.
