Chapter 17: The nightmare king

The figure stepped forward, its eyes burning with an inner fire. Lyra could feel the power emanating from it, a power that seemed to rival her own.
"Who are you?" Lyra asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
"I am the Nightmare King," the figure replied, its voice dripping with malevolence. "And I will stop at nothing to claim the Dreamrealm as my own."
Kael stepped forward, his eyes flashing with anger. "You'll never succeed," he said. "Lyra has the power of the Dreamseed, and she will never let you claim the Dreamrealm."
The Nightmare King sneered. "We'll see about that," he said. "Lyra, come with me, and I will show you the true power of the Dreamrealm."
Lyra hesitated, unsure of what to do. Part of her was tempted by the Nightmare King's offer, but another part of her knew that she couldn't trust him.
Suddenly, a voice whispered in her ear. "Don't trust him, Lyra. He's not what he seems."
Lyra turned to see who was speaking, but there was no one there. The voice seemed to be coming from within her own mind.
"Who are you?" Lyra asked aloud.
"I am the voice of the Dreamseed," the voice replied. "And I am here to guide you on your journey."
Lyra's eyes widened as she realized the truth. The Dreamseed was more than just a simple artifact - it was a key to unlocking the secrets of the Dreamrealm.
With newfound determination, Lyra turned to face the Nightmare King. "I won't go with you," she said. "I'll fight you instead."
The Nightmare King sneered. "Foolish girl," he said. "You'll never defeat me."
But Lyra was undaunted. With the power of the Dreamseed coursing through her veins, she knew that she could overcome any obstacle.
