Fate: Edmund

Chapter 6: Chapter 6

The next day, Waver Velvet departed early for Japan, while Kayneth was hysterical over the stolen relic. He had just been informed that his package had been stolen by an unknown person, and Kayneth was filled with rage at the rat who had just ruined his plans.

But like a fallen angel from the sky, Edmund handed him another relic. Kayneth was confused by Edmund's action, not understanding why he did this. Edmund didn't give any details about the supposed gift he had given Kayneth.

"If you're uncertain about the relic or which hero it belongs to, don't worry. It's from the great Hector, the protector of Troy, undoubtedly a servant with tremendous strength."

Kayneth thought about it a little longer. As a calculating and intelligent man, he had a backup in case something happened to the relic he was going to use. The issue was that he didn't want to use it due to the legend attached to the name, but thanks to Edmund, he dismissed that concern.

Hector was far more famous than the backup relic, being a Greek hero with much more fame than Diarmuid.

Without thinking twice, Kayneth took the relic offered by Edmund.

Initially, Edmund had intended to give him Achilles, but Kayneth's personality was incompatible with him. They would clash the moment Kayneth treated Achilles like a dog. Edmund didn't want to see Kayneth die because of his own actions; he would feel guilty over something so… trivial.

"After you summon him, I'll come to collect the relic. After all, I'm just lending it to you for a while."

Edmund quickly left Kayneth's office. He was also heading to Japan, but not to participate; instead, he wanted to be in the front row of the spectacle.

Waver left in the morning, and Edmund had to travel that night. Time wasn't on his side.

According to his spies, they had identified the masters participating. To Edmund's relief, everything was in place. They were the same masters as in the original story.

"No changes, that's a relief. At least there haven't been any significant changes in this Holy Grail War, well, except for me, hehe…"

Edmund was happy. There had been no shifts in the current timeline. The participants hadn't changed, and the servants were the same as in the main story.

His spies sent him reports on the catalysts of the enemy masters. It was easy; the fossil of the first serpent to shed its skin was a relic Edmund already had in his hands, which he sold to Tohsaka Tokiomi. As for the scabbard of Excalibur, he was aware that the Einzbern family had been searching for it for years.

They hadn't made any effort to hide their relentless pursuit of King Arthur. The rest, the Matou family and the psychopath, were off the radar. Edmund wasn't thinking of helping or interfering with them.

Edmund didn't forget to bring everything necessary for Japan. He promised to help his friend Waver with the logistics.
