Chapter 9: Battle of Ragna and Lancer
Lancer's spear, like a dangerous serpent, struck at Ragna's weak points, but with Ragna's unparalleled skill, it was effortlessly deflected. Ragna didn't even bother to attack and only defended, yet even this defense was enough to reveal the vast gulf in power between him and Lancer.
An area with a radius of a hundred meters was completely destroyed, as if dozens of missiles had bombarded it. Metal containers had been shattered into small pieces, and the scent of magical energy filled the air. The dust from the battle could be seen from afar.
Time and again, Lancer tried to land a blow, but his spear was easily deflected by Ragna every time. This one-sided spectacle plunged the Masters and Servants present into a heavy silence, all awestruck by the grandeur of the battle.
The Rider scratched his head nervously and, in a tone of dissatisfaction, said, "Looks like we're caught in some real trouble here." His young Master, shaking with fear and anxiety, appeared more distressed than ever.
With a calm smile, Ragna said to Lancer, "You're an extraordinary spearman." Lancer's skill reminded him of Kamui's.
Lancer took a few steps back and replied, "It's an honor to hear such praise from you." But Ragna, with a composed smile, continued, "We should wrap this fight up quickly."
Raising his sword, Ragna unleashed a tremendous pressure from his body. This pressure brought the world to a momentary silence. Lancer's eyes narrowed as cold sweat dripped from his forehead. His instincts screamed of an impending danger.
With a slow step forward, Ragna suddenly vanished and, in the blink of an eye, appeared right in front of Lancer. Shocked, Lancer barely managed to dodge, retreating several meters. Suddenly, a deep wound appeared on his chest, and blood poured from his body.
In a calm tone, Ragna said, "Oh, you managed to evade that? Impressive." He was clearly impressed. "That strike would've been enough to kill an average dragon."
Blood dripping from his mouth, Lancer thought to himself, That was tough, but I dodged it. This opponent is truly formidable. Despite his severe injuries, Lancer was not disheartened; rather, he was exhilarated. Using his magical energy, he began healing his wounds and launched himself at Ragna with supersonic speed.
Meanwhile, Saber watched the fight with a frown. Having always believed in the power of the Holy Grail, witnessing this battle only strengthened her conviction that the Grail was something beyond imagination. Her eyes gleamed with determination.
Can I defeat this man? With steadfast resolve, she thought, For Britain, I will overcome all rivals and save my country.
Ragna, with unparalleled skill, blocked Lancer's attacks one after another and remarked, "Your spear technique resembles Kamui's. You lack his power, but in terms of skill, you're close." For a moment, Ragna drifted into thought, the memory of Kamui unsettling him. In this world, only that old purple-haired woman rivals Kamui in strength and skill.
But he shook his head, snapping out of his thoughts. Enough. Thinking about him is making me lose interest in this fight. I should end it now.
Suddenly, Ragna appeared directly in front of Lancer and unleashed over a hundred simultaneous strikes.
Lancer was shocked. There was no escape. His eyes widened. I can't dodge this. Death loomed before him. Any movement would result in annihilation. Even before the blows landed, the thought of his body being torn apart filled his mind.
With a heavy heart, he thought, I'm sorry, Master. I couldn't bring you victory. But I don't regret this. To fight such a strong warrior was enough for me. Lancer braced himself for death, but suddenly, his body began to glow.
Ragna frowned as his attacks struck the containers instead, tearing them apart like shredded paper. The area, spanning a hundred meters, was obliterated in the wake of Ragna's strikes. If that blow had hit Lancer, it would have undoubtedly killed him.
Frowning deeply, Ragna stared at the spot where Lancer had vanished. The Command Seal was the reason for his disappearance.
