The Phantom Zone was a maelstrom of distorted reality, a void where the rules of existence twisted and turned. Raiden, cloaked in the visage of Edmond Dantès—the Avenger who had once escaped the depths of despair—moved like a shadow against the backdrop of chaos. His long black coat billowed as he dodged tendrils of pure darkness, each one sharp enough to tear through reality itself.
"You dance well, mortal," Darkseid intoned, his deep voice reverberating like a death knell. The dark god's crimson eyes glowed, and a swirl of malevolent energy coalesced in his palm. "But even the most elegant movements cannot save you from inevitability."
Raiden gritted his teeth, spinning through the air as the Omega Beams streaked after him, bending space in their relentless pursuit. He twisted sharply, narrowly avoiding them as they curved back, obliterating a massive chunk of the fractured terrain behind him.
"I don't need to escape inevitability," Raiden shot back, his voice filled with defiance. "I only need to stop you!"
He extended his hand, conjuring a beam of pure energy that surged toward Darkseid. The attack carved through the void, lighting up the Phantom Zone with a brilliant flash. But Darkseid moved with effortless grace, stepping aside as the beam crashed harmlessly into the distance.
"Futile," Darkseid said, raising his hand. From his fingertips, tendrils of darkness erupted once more, weaving together into a colossal fist that slammed down toward Raiden.
Raiden vanished in a blur, reappearing above the dark god. "Not as futile as you think!" He unleashed a volley of attacks, beams of white-hot energy and slashes of vengeful power raining down. Each blow collided with Darkseid's armor, creating shockwaves that rippled through the zone.
Darkseid staggered back slightly, a growl of annoyance escaping his lips. "You fight with conviction, mortal. But conviction is meaningless in the face of darkness."
Darkseid clenched his fists, and the Phantom Zone itself seemed to respond, twisting and writhing under his will. The darkness around him surged, forming massive spikes that shot toward Raiden from all directions.
Raiden wove through the barrage, his movements precise and fluid. His mind raced as he calculated his next move. He darted in close, his fists blazing with energy as he struck at Darkseid's torso, each punch landing with the force of a meteor.
For a moment, it seemed as if the attacks might break through. Cracks formed along Darkseid's chestplate, and a faint hiss escaped the dark god.
"You amuse me, Raiden," Darkseid said, his voice tinged with mockery. "But your strength is fleeting."
With a wave of his hand, the cracks sealed themselves, and a wave of dark energy erupted outward, blasting Raiden back. He tumbled through the void, righting himself just in time to see Darkseid striding forward, his eyes glowing ominously.
Raiden's breathing was labored, but his resolve burned brighter than ever. Images of his family, friends, and the world he had come to love flashed through his mind. He could feel the weight of their hopes resting on his shoulders.
"You talk about darkness like it's some ultimate power," Raiden said, his voice steady despite the strain. "But it's nothing more than a tool for cowards. You think fear will win you this fight? Think again."
Darkseid stopped, his expression unchanging but his presence radiating disdain. "Fear is not my weapon, mortal. Darkness is creation and destruction. It is the true essence of all things. Your love, your hope—they are but fleeting illusions in the endless void."
Raiden smirked, the defiance in his eyes unwavering. "If darkness is endless, then I'll carve my way through it. You'll see what a man fighting for his world can do. I will burn through this Darkness, lighting up a world that will never end, I will spread Peace beyond what you and Darkness can handle, endless light and justice, Yeah that's it, you Feel it don't you, No matter how hard you try to revert back to a world of endless darkness, light will find a way, and today, I am what Light is"
Raiden extended his hand, summoning a swirling vortex of black and crimson energy. His form radiated with power as the Phantom Zone itself seemed to warp around him.
"I Show No mercy for Darkness!
Because
I follow a path beyond love and hate!
Enfer Château d'If!"
Ten's of Raiden spread out all around surrounding Darkseid as they all shout out forward, a beam of energy directed towards Darkseid
The energy coalesced into a massive sphere, its surface writhing with chaotic patterns. The sphere expanded rapidly, engulfing Darkseid in its center. The Phantom Zone trembled as the attack unleashed a storm of destructive force, the sheer intensity of the blast tearing through the fabric of the dimension.
For a moment, silence reigned. Then the energy dissipated, revealing Darkseid standing unharmed within the ruins of the attack. His armor glowed faintly, the remnants of the Noble Phantasm's power lingering on its surface.
"Impressive, It really is" Darkseid said, his tone almost amused. "But futile."
Darkseid raised his hand, the darkness around him condensing into a massive orb of pulsating energy. "You fight for love, for hope, for light," he said, his voice cold and merciless. "But all of it will drown in the era of endless darkness that I shall bring."
The orb erupted into a colossal beam of dark energy, its sheer force shaking the Phantom Zone to its core. Raiden barely had time to react as the beam struck him square in the chest, its power overwhelming. He cried out in pain, the impact sending him hurtling through the void.
The beam of dark energy dissipated, leaving Raiden battered but alive. His body glowed faintly, a shimmering golden aura surrounding him. Before him, the sword sheath of 'Avalon' floated, its intricate designs pulsating with a divine light. It had absorbed the brunt of Darkseid's attack, shielding Raiden from annihilation.
"Avalon…" Raiden muttered, his voice tinged with awe. The sheath dissolved into golden motes of light, and in its place, a sword of unparalleled radiance materialized. Its blade gleamed with the brilliance of the sun, and its hilt was adorned with intricate engravings of a kingdom long lost. Excalibur.
Raiden's form began to shift. His black coat melted away, replaced by gleaming silver armor adorned with blue and gold accents. A crimson cape billowed behind him, and a crown of light formed above his head. His eyes, once filled with defiance, now burned with the regal authority of a king. He had become Arthur Pendragon, the Once and Future King.
Darkseid's crimson eyes narrowed. "Another trick, mortal? Do you truly believe a change of attire will save you?"
Arthur—no, Raiden—gripped Excalibur tightly, the blade humming with power. "This is no trick," he said, his voice calm yet commanding. "This is the power of a king who fights for his world. And today, I will show you the light that even your darkness cannot extinguish."
With a swift motion, Raiden dashed forward, his movements a blur of golden light. Excalibur clashed against Darkseid's armor, sparks flying as the two titans collided. The Phantom Zone trembled with each strike, the sheer force of their blows creating shockwaves that rippled through the void.
Raiden's swordplay was flawless, each swing of Excalibur precise and devastating. He moved with the grace of a seasoned warrior, his strikes aimed at the weak points in Darkseid's armor. The dark god growled in frustration, his massive fists swinging in retaliation, but Raiden dodged with ease, his movements almost preternatural.
"You cannot keep this up forever, mortal," Darkseid snarled, summoning tendrils of darkness to lash out at Raiden.
Raiden raised Excalibur, the blade glowing brighter as he channeled its power. "Perhaps not," he admitted. "But I don't need forever. I only need now."
He leapt into the air, Excalibur held high. The blade's light intensified, illuminating the entire Phantom Zone. The darkness recoiled, as if afraid of the radiance.
"This is a Battle to Save the World, Release All the Seals" Raiden began, his voice resonating with power. The air around him crackled with energy as the sword's true power awakened.
"Approved" Spoke a Voice, as Raiden Nodded
"Ex----CALIBUR!"
A torrent of golden light erupted from the blade, a beam of pure destruction that tore through the void. The light consumed everything in its path, its sheer brilliance overwhelming. Darkseid raised his arms, summoning a barrier of darkness to shield himself, but the force of the attack pushed him back, his feet skidding across the fractured terrain.
When the light faded, Darkseid stood unharmed, but his armor bore new cracks, and his expression was one of genuine surprise. "Impressive," he admitted. "But you are still outmatched."
Raiden landed gracefully, his breathing heavy. He knew he couldn't keep this up. Darkseid was too powerful, too relentless. But he wasn't done yet.
"If one king isn't enough," Raiden said, his voice echoing with determination, "then I'll become a hero of another era."
His form shifted once more. The silver armor of Arthur melted away, replaced by golden plates adorned with intricate designs. A spear of pure light materialized in his hand, its tip glowing with the intensity of the sun. His hair turned a fiery red, and his eyes burned with the resolve of a warrior who had faced gods and demons alike. He had become Karna, the Hero of Charity.
Darkseid's eyes narrowed. "Another transformation? How many masks do you wear, mortal?"
Raiden raised his spear, Vasavi Shakti, its power radiating through the Phantom Zone. "These are no Masks" he said, his voice calm but filled with authority. "These are Heroes who granted me life, Heroes who exist to serve and protect humanity, and I am one of them"
Darkseid charged forward, his massive fists swinging with devastating force. Raiden met him head-on, his spear clashing against the dark god's armor. The impact sent shockwaves through the void, the sheer force of their collision creating ripples in reality itself as the Phantom Zone started to show Cracks
Raiden's movements were swift and precise, each strike of his spear aimed with deadly accuracy. He dodged Darkseid's attacks with ease, his agility unmatched. But Darkseid was relentless, his strength and durability seemingly infinite.
"You cannot win," Darkseid growled, summoning a wave of dark energy to engulf Karna.
Karna raised his spear, its light piercing through the darkness. "Perhaps not," he admitted. "But I Promised my People that I'd protect them till death"
He leapt into the air, Vasavi Shakti glowing brighter than ever. The spear's power surged, its light illuminating the entire Phantom Zone.
"Feel the mercy of the King of Gods,
You will be destroyed with this one strike...
Watch, Indra!
I will burn it all!
Vasavi Shakti!!"
Raiden shouted, hurling the spear toward Darkseid.
The spear transformed into a beam of pure energy, its power unmatched. It struck Darkseid head-on, the force of the attack creating a massive explosion that shook the Phantom Zone to its core. The light consumed everything, its brilliance overwhelming.
When the light faded, Darkseid stood amidst the ruins of the attack, his armor cracked and smoldering. But he was still standing, his expression one of cold fury.
"Once more, you fail to inflict any lasting damage, do you truly think you will win? When every move, attack or damage you inflict is merely absorbed by the darkness? You are only delaying the inevitable" " Darkseid said as he brushed off the cracks on his Dark Armor as they were recreating all over again
