Mission:
Li Huangxi, a destined chosen, will obtain the treasure in the shrine Xue Yan mentioned from the Emerald Sky Sect. Take the treasure, making his fortune yours.

Zhao Wei stared at the mission panel in amusement, his hand resting on his chin as a sly smile crept onto his face. The smile faded slightly as he glanced at Li Huangxi, still bowing before him.
"Oh, brother, you're overestimating me. We're in the same realm," Zhao Wei replied with a forced laugh, maintaining a polite demeanor. He carefully observed Li Huangxi's reaction.
"Haha, senior brother, you're too humble. I can tell your realm is being suppressed," Li Huangxi said, scratching his head as he laughed awkwardly.
"So? Why are you here?" Zhao Wei's tone shifted, his expression turning solemn. His sharp gaze pierced through Li Huangxi, causing him to flinch ever so slightly.
[Why do I feel like I've known him for a long time…?]
"Ah, nothing, brother. I'm just hunting down a vermin," Li Huangxi finally said, though his smile didn't reach his eyes. Anger simmered beneath his polite facade. The girl, Xue Yan, had killed one of his junior brothers and severely injured another, leaving him the only one capable of continuing their operation.
"Vermin, you say?" Zhao Wei raised an eyebrow, his tone unreadable.
Li Huangxi opened his mouth to explain further but suddenly hesitated. A strange sense of confusion clouded his mind. Why had he almost revealed the Emerald Sky Sect's secret mission? If word got out, their sect would face retaliation from both the Jade Palace and Verdant Cloud Sects. Something felt off.
[Is it because that b*tch escaped?] He frowned, lost in his own unstable thoughts.
"Never mind, senior brother. Apologies for bothering you," Li Huangxi said abruptly, shaking his head. Without waiting for a response, he turned and disappeared into the forest, his steps hurried.
Zhao Wei exhaled slowly as he watched Li Huangxi leave.
[Strange… He didn't even ask for my name. Is it because of my passive skill?] Zhao Wei wondered, recalling the effects of Virtuous Scholar's Aura.
His thoughts drifted as he glanced at the mission panel once more, noticing the mention of destiny value. Curiosity tugged at him, and he addressed the system.
"Hey, what exactly are destiny values?" he muttered.
[Ding! Destiny Value is a measurement of luck and fortune. As long as you possess destiny value, you cannot truly die.]
"So… immortality?"
[Not exactly. For example, someone with 1,000 destiny value facing a killing strike might survive due to a miraculous miss, while their attacker assumes the strike landed. However, someone with 100 destiny value might survive but could be left paralyzed for life. Each use of fortune deducts from your destiny value. You can also gain or lose destiny value outside of missions.]
"What the hell? Why didn't you tell me this sooner? That's significant information!" Zhao Wei exclaimed.
Determined to secure the treasure, he returned to the cave. Seeing Xue Yan cultivating, he chose not to disturb her and decided to attempt cultivation himself. However, frustration soon followed.
Despite the seemingly smooth progress of cultivation in this world, something felt off. Zhao Wei couldn't advance properly. He lacked a foundational understanding of cultivation techniques, specifically the Confucian arts tied to his system.
Closing his eyes, Zhao Wei tried sensing Qi once again. He recalled his past experiments. This time, he sought to identify the pathways—mandarins, as he had dubbed them—used in his techniques.
He began by activating Heavenly Calligraphy, drawing a detonation symbol, then a shield symbol. Carefully observing the flow of Qi, Zhao Wei noted how the same pathways were used but with varying concentrations.
Next, he attempted Heavenly Ink Manifestation, focusing Qi into his fingertip. The process confirmed his theory—specific pathways were involved, distinct but overlapping with those used in other techniques.
To test his hypothesis further, Zhao Wei tried redirecting Qi to dormant mandarin pathways.
"Puff!"
He coughed violently, spitting blood. Despite the pain, a smile formed on his lips.
[So, my hypothesis was correct. Now I know what's preventing me from cultivating properly.]
With this newfound understanding, Zhao Wei felt a step closer to unraveling the mysteries of cultivation.
After trying things out Zhao Wei glanced over at Xue Yan, who seemed to be watching all of this in amusement. Her expression was smug, as if she was making fun of him. Seeing Zhao Wei staring at her, her face turned blank, as if nothing had ever happened.
Seeing her reaction, Zhao Wei laughed internally. He shook his head and prepared to ask Xue Yan a question.
"Do you want to take revenge?" Zhao Wei asked. Xue Yan's face turned serious, but inside her mind, she thought of thousands of scenarios. She wondered why this guy was helping her. As if he had read her thoughts, Zhao Wei smiled.
"I am not helping you because I am some kind of saint. I want the treasure in the shrine. Give me the location, and I will help you take revenge for your sect."
Hearing Zhao Wei's words, she wondered if he was even powerful enough to do that. But she quickly dismissed the thought, as he had made Li Huangxi turn away using just words. Still, she was not convinced of his strength. Li Huangxi was merely an inner-sect disciple; compared to the elders and core disciples, he was still lacking. Although, based on what she had seen, there didn't seem to be any core disciples around. Relaxing slightly, she looked straight into Zhao Wei's eyes and asked,
"How are you going to do it?"
Seeing her question, Zhao Wei felt smug inside. He was going to show off a little. He didn't reply; instead, he picked up a stick and used it as a medium to channel Heavenly Ink Manifestation.
He drew a crow on the stone wall. As soon as he finished the last stroke, the ink shift, the drawing rippling like water.
The crow lifted off the wall, its inky form turning into a solid lifelike bird. The black bird flapped a little before landed on Zhao Wei's shoulder.
Xue Yan stared at the sight, her breathing became staggered. She could feel the power radiating from the bird.
Zhao Wei, noticing her scared expression, smiled but said nothing.Sometimes silence speak louder than words.
