Fear and Hunger, Gamer Soul

In a lake surrounded by trees, Leon could be seen in the middle of the lake cleaning his body.

The weather was cold and the sky was cloudy, but he showed no signs of discomfort despite the cold.

Leon had an indifferent look on his face, his mind racing as he remembered a certain woman.

Hearing the sound of footsteps approaching, Leon didn't let himself be disturbed as he continued to clean himself.

"Hey, brat! Captain Rudimer asked me to come get you, you better not delay us."

Without looking in the direction of the voice, Leon continued to clean himself.

After a few minutes, he got out of the lake and began to dry himself and then put on his clothes under the watchful eye of the person.

"You know... I think I'll have to talk to Rudimer about the sexual preferences of his soldiers."

Leon commented as he turned to the person who was staring at him.

It was a tall woman, her skin was pale which contrasted with her red hair and black armor.

The woman laughed amusedly upon hearing Leon.

"Boy, you can be sure that the fruit you like, I'll suck it to the core." (In case the translation makes this sentence not make sense in your language, she's basically saying that she's a lesbian.)

Not continuing with the subject, Leon began walking towards the exit of the forest with the woman soon following him.

"Today we'll continue exploring the basement, so try not to be too confident and under no circumstances try to act like a hero."

After the woman spoke, warning Leon of the dangers that could exist in the dungeon's basement, Leon lost himself in thought.

Hero... A hero wouldn't have the thoughts that he has, the last thing Leon would want to be is a hero, a hero is a being who has a quality that Leon would never have and that quality was being able to forgive the worst of beings, believing that everyone could change.

And that's something Leon would never do...

Arriving in front of the dungeon, Leon noticed Rudimer and a group of soldiers gathering, as they approached Rudimer's eyes focused on Leon and then he started walking towards him.

"Leon! I see you're okay, I'm sorry for sending someone after you, but I really care about my little partner!"

As Rudimer spoke Leon looked at the man, the last time Rudimer had given his life to try to save Leon, even the worst of people couldn't help but consider someone like Rudimer a friend.

A month had passed since Leon started all over again, he avoided all the encounters he had with Catherine and did his best to stay away from that crazy cult, this time he decided to focus completely on getting stronger to kill a certain someone.

The guards on the first floor didn't help him level up as quickly as before, so he started trying to learn magic and decided to go down to the lower floors to gain more XP.

Today Rudimer would be taking a trip to the dungeon's basement and Leon decided to go along. This would be his first experience going down to the basement, and unlike the game, the basement extended to an undetermined size.

Remembering that not everything in the game was the same in this world, Leon sighed.

After a few formalities, the group advanced towards the basement.

As they entered, everyone felt the air grow heavier. As they explored the place, Leon remained attentive, calmly analyzing the entire place.

Remembering that the last time Rudimer had returned alone from this exploration, two months later.

What was supposed to be a small exploration turned into a massacre with only one survivor.

This time Leon was here and he was going to try to make as many soldiers as possible.

Feeling a persistent gaze on him, Leon looked at the woman who was next to him.

"If you have any questions, you can ask them at once and don't stare at me, are you sure you like women?"

The woman looked at Leon, let out a sigh and gave a weak smile.

"Sorry, I was just making sure you were okay, this is not a place for children, if you get scared just stay behind me, I'll protect you."

Leon looked at the woman for a moment.

"I'm fine, I'm sure I'll be fine."

After this brief conversation they were silent.

Surrounded by darkness everyone moved together, after a few minutes where the only sound they heard was their footsteps they saw a gelatinous and floating creature that resembled a jellyfish with several tentacles coming out of its head.

An idiot soldier, affectionately nicknamed idiot number 1, approached the creature and touched it with his finger.

Before anyone could react to such stupidity, the creature with its tentacle at incredible speed pierced the soldier's chest, going through his armor.

Killing him immediately, being the quickest to react, Leon advanced and with a swing of his sword cut off all of the creature's tentacles and then pierced its head with his sword.

From the amount of xp he earned, Leon could conclude that the creature known in the game as Maneba was stronger than a normal guard.

As he felt someone approaching, Leon turned around and saw Rudimer.

"Good job Leon, everyone pay attention, remember that this is not a walk, all the creatures here are deadly, so let what just happened be a lesson."

After that, they continued to explore the place.

Over time, more and more creatures began to appear, with Leon quickly killing them, but it is inevitable that some soldiers would end up dying once in a while.

Upon reaching a completely empty room with only one entrance, they began to set up a place to rest.

For Leon, this was really productive, by pure luck he had obtained a purification talisman.

This item would allow him to enter the room where the hexen table was located. In the game, the table when used provides an option to either Use The Hexen or Curse Equipment. It is especially important with the use of lesser souls.

The Hexen displays a skill tree that allows the player to unlock spells and skills relevant to the chosen character.

Leon could not help but get excited when imagining what skills his soul could unlock.

Upon feeling someone approaching, Leon put his thoughts aside and watched Rudimer approaching with an apple in his hands.

Rudimer, with the apple in his hands, sat down next to Leon and handed him the apple.

"You know, my best soldier should eat well, I don't want his performance to drop, and it's up to Trish and me to try to defend these incompetents!"

Rudimer commented loudly so that everyone could hear, everyone lowered their heads as they felt embarrassed that a child was performing better than them.

Trish, the beautiful redhead who was watching from a distance, began to walk towards Rudimer and Leon.

Just as she was about to open her mouth...

"Help!... Help!"

Hearing screams for help, Leon and Rudimer stood up and looked outside the room where the screams came from...

I'm really feeling very bad this Saturday, I'm taking a new medication that is making my head explode with pain, if the pain stops by Sunday afternoon there will be a chapter, if I end up not feeling better the next chapter will come out on Monday.
