Chapter 116: Chap-113
Looking at Gwen, the Spider-Woman, who was so close and still wearing her spider hood, Merlin could even feel her slightly rapid breathing. A familiar scent drifted into his nose. After spending so much time with Gwen, he didn't need to see her face to confirm her identity; her presence alone was enough.
"I'm not late, am I?"
Gwen, clearly flustered, also felt Merlin's warm breath. Her eyes became fiery and slightly blurred under her hood.
Merlin didn't reply. Instead, he reached out, placing his hand gently under her chin, and began to pull back her hood slowly.
Gwen's body trembled, but she didn't resist.
As the hood came off, it revealed her red, inviting lips. Warm breath escaped from her, falling onto Merlin's face like a soft whisper.
In the quiet cinema, illuminated only by the flickering light of the screen, Gwen abruptly stepped back, breathing heavily. She quickly pulled her mask back up, released her spider silk, and landed gracefully in the seat next to Merlin as if nothing had happened.
"Want some?" Merlin offered her the popcorn he'd prepared, holding it out casually.
Gwen didn't respond, seemingly lost in her thoughts.
"No? What about this?"
Merlin grinned mischievously and moved closer, this time holding a piece of popcorn between his teeth.
Gwen: "....."
Looking at Merlin's teasing expression, her face turned bright red under her mask. She clenched her teeth in frustration.
"Oh, you think you're clever, Merlin? You act like this only with me, but you have so much fun teasing others, huh?"
Fueled by her irritation, she lunged at him, playfully wrestling for the popcorn.
Meanwhile, the cruise ship on the screen began sinking dramatically, but the only two people in the cinema paid it no mind.
When the movie ended, Gwen, her mask now concealing half of her flushed face, grabbed Merlin's arm and led him to the rooftop of the cinema.
"Little beauty! Do you want to experience what it feels like to swing through the air?"
On the rooftop, Gwen wrapped her arms snugly around Merlin's waist, reversing the usual roles. Merlin, playing along, draped his hands around her neck.
"Alright, take me home," Merlin replied, feigning the role of a bashful girl.
Gwen rolled her eyes.
"Then hold on tight!"
Without another word, Gwen leaped from the rooftop, carrying Merlin with her.
"Woohoo!!!"
The roaring wind howled in their ears as the city's breathtaking scenery flashed by, both of them cheering in excitement.
Spider-Woman Gwen expertly opened the window to Merlin's bedroom and prepared to leave him there. However, before she could react, Merlin—who had been leaning against her—suddenly flipped the situation. With a swift move, he scooped her up and tossed her onto the bed.
"Plop!"
The muffled sound of Gwen landing on the bed broke the silence. Merlin, through the mask, could see her wide eyes staring back at him.
"Usually, when a girl brings a boy home, you know what that means!"
"Of course I know... but don't take off my mask!" Gwen, her voice trembling with emotion, felt Merlin's warm breath. Staring at the familiar face before her, she struggled to keep her thoughts in check, finally whispering her plea.
"Just what I wanted," Merlin replied, his tone playful yet firm.
"Let me tell you a story..."
"Mmm..." Gwen nodded weakly, surrendering to the moment.

The next day.
"Hiss~~~"Merlin winced in his sleep, then slowly woke up. As he opened his eyes, he noticed the lower half of Gwen Spider-Woman's face exposed.
"It seems I'm more exciting with the mask on, huh?" Gwen teased, licking her lips seductively.
"I don't care who you are under that hood. I'll know when you want me to," Merlin replied, resting his head on his arm, a sly smile playing on his lips.
"I just hope you won't be shocked when the time comes," Gwen tilted her head, her voice teasing, before leaning down again.
"Goodbye!"
Gwen, now fully dressed in her black-and-white spider suit, waved to Merlin and prepared to jump out of the window.
"Wait a minute," Merlin called out suddenly. "There's a gift for you. It's right in front of the cinema."
"Oh? What kind of gift?" Gwen asked, turning to face him.
"You'll know when you see it." Merlin smirked.
"OK!" Gwen nodded, her white compound eye device blinking as she turned and leapt from the window, disappearing swiftly among the towering city buildings.
"See you next time," Merlin murmured, watching her leave. Then he turned his attention to cleaning the messy room.
After tidying up, Merlin made himself a quick meal and settled down to check the latest news headlines:
[What Are the Consequences of Increasing Extraordinary Powers in Society?]
[The Air Force Establishes a Space Institute and Invites Players to Join!]
[The CEO of Hammer Industries Arrested!]
There had been plenty of hot news recently, especially related to players, guilds, and clubs. However, the most significant stories remained the Los Santos incident and the arrest of the CEO of Hammer Industries.
The Los Santos incident had sparked an ongoing debate, with some condemning gaming platforms and players while others praised them. There was no shortage of mockery directed at the military and emergency services for their perceived shortcomings during the crisis.
As for the CEO of Hammer Industries, his arrest stemmed from the Iron Legion's loss of control, as well as his unauthorized employment of the criminal Ivan. The chaos this caused at a stadium nearly resulted in heavy casualties. With competitors and platforms piling on to exacerbate the situation, it seemed unlikely that Hammer Industries would recover anytime soon.
