Chapter 6: Passing Through A Rift

"How is the situation inside?"

Raven just arrived with Sage and is all ready to bombard people with questions.

The Initiated furrowed their brows and then sighed.

Turning to their superior, he then said in a respectful tone:

"The two Seekers are safe and there are three other unknowns that passed through the opened Rift as well."

The man paused and double checked, the aura between his hands shimmered and glowed like a glowing watery orb.

Finally, after a few short moments the man answered to the Captains and superiors and other officers and agents around:

"Atleast a few hours from now they will stop at a location to wherever the Rift takes them, the Seekers have a high chance of appearing together but the other three I don't know. Two of the three have a similar aura but the other doesn't have any, I'm lucky enough to even detect him since I had the experience to detect their Core."

Raven sighed out of relief and glanced at the elf who was supposed to be by her side... She disappeared.

She was about to panick and feel furious until one of the guards ahead shouted:

"You can't enter!"

"Are you trying to get yourself killed young miss!?"

" Who you calling young? Respect your elders!"

The higher ranking officers, Raven, Oowashi, Seiji, and the unknown blue haired man turned their heads.

Sage was being blocked by two buff and bulky guards that held clubs.

It seemed she was trying to enter the Rifts dome.

Seiji raised his eyebrows while Oowashi showed no emotion and continued spitting orders.

The blue haired man however, approached Sage.

" What's an elf like you doing here in the innermost part of Northridge?"

He said with a calm voice and a smile.

" Hm? Navi?"

She turned her head and immediately recognized the fellow, his name is apparently Navi.

Her eyes grew wide but her voice became annoyed and she narrowed her eyes at him, she looked away from him and frowned.

She continued to gaze at the Rifts veil, like the entirety of the cathedral was painted black or monotone.

Suddenly, Seiji's eyes lit up and smiled.

"The Domain Divers are coming soon!"

Everyone around finally felt less tense and relaxed themselves smiling happily.

However...

Sage, Navi, and Raven felt something odd about this Rift, they didn't feel relieved that the people coming to close the Rift up will succeed... Not easily anyway.

Raven has only seen a Rift once in her line of work but she was able to grasp it's entirety from one experience.

Navi seemed to be an ex Domain Divers, according to Oowashi, just from a different Branch. He has countless experience from diving through Rifts, but this one seemed off to him just now.

For Sage though...

"Tsk. Not good."

She muttered to herself and gritted her teeth like she was nervous and frustrated.

She walked away from being too close and sat by a bench.

Sage looked young but who knows how much experience this elf girl has gone through...

The wind was howling and the stars were shimmering faintly high above the sky.

It was cold.

Really, really cold.

Han was laying down on the snow feeling forgetful for some reason.

He groaned and looked around, dead trees and thick snow, the wind was blowing snow and leaves.

There were dozens or hundreds of mountains all around him.

' Cold... So, so, cold...'

He stood up and felt a weird memory come back...

- Han! Hold still! I'll come find you!

What was that voice?

Was that a girls voice?

How does she know my name? Where even am I exactly?

He shivered and summoned an armor and a simple fire ball that flickered with the cold wind.

He walked.

And then he walked.

He kept walking.

And walking...

And walking...

Suddenly, another memory flashed through Hans head making him groan once more.

He was holding a girl's hand while falling through a lightless black void, she was suddenly grabbed by a dark figure and she yelled but her voice faded.

That was when he woke up in this strange place.

"No, no... This isn't just a strange place..." He muttered to himself as he finally regained his senses.

He took out one of his daggers and looked around him.

The familiar mountains...

The starry night sky...

And the moon that's always shaped like a crescent in this specific part...

"Shit, shit, shit!"

He ran towards a cliffs edge and then stopped just before he fell over.

Out there in the distance was a large town with four big walls.

There was fire, distant screaming and smoke coming from the first wall...

"The outer wall."

He laughed maniacally and sighed loudly, the heavy wind and snowfall muffling any sounds except for the deathly screams and monsters roaring in the distance.

"Northridge..."

They were sent to the past...
