Uzumaki Naruto had a recurring dream he had while he slept these days. This dream was always about the day he finally felt someone accepted him, for he was. It wasn't raining that day and Naruto had only just turned four, and the sun was shining high in the sky. It was the perfect day for his birthday to celebrate.
So Naruto celebrated by causing mayhem and chaos by targeting vendors and stalls whose owners hated him. He only spared old man Teuchi's Ichiraku ramen because he was a nice person, and the ramen was good. So if he pranked that restaurant, Teuchi could ban him from there.
The graffiti was full of harsh sentences flipping people off or were just doodles. "I just wished I had pink or orange paint... Maybe next time." Naruto thought as he tipped ice water onto the spectators, let out a loud shriek as cold water soaked them.
Naruto felt giddy at the expression of the villagers who only gave him hard looks and isolated him. The civilians hated his guts, but Shinobi Clans and Shinobi themselves kept their distance from him but never ran away or ignored him when he talked to them. They treated him with like he was there. Sadly, that only compromised 10% of the village. Some civilians looked annoyed at his antics, but many glared at him in anger. A cold chill tingled at Naruto's spine when a large man pushed to the front of the crowd.
The Man expression was livid and seething with a burning hatred. He opened his mouth and screamed. "I will kill you. Damn you De-"
Suddenly, a shuriken whistled through the air and grazed the middle-aged man before he could finish the word. The old man's right ear erupted in a spray of blood, splattering the ground and staining his shoes and trousers with the red liquid pumped by the heart.
"AGGGHHHHH," the man screams in pain as he clutches the torn ear. And suddenly, a man with a black hood and masked with a porcelain mask shielding Naruto from any oncoming threats. He gingerly picked Naruto's tiny stiff body.
"Out of the way, this is the Konoha police force." A voice rang out behind the crowd.
Three men, clad in green flak jackets adorned with the Uchiha insignia, pushed their way through the parting crowd. They surveyed the scene, their faces hardening as they grasped the situation. The man who looked like the leader was in the middle of the group had short, brown hair that reached his shoulders and onyx-colored eyes, with a visible crease. The Uchiha looked at Naruto, checking his condition, and activated his Sharingan to check any abnormalities.
Relieved, the man lets out a sigh. "Everything is alright with the child. Take him to the Hokage, I will deal with the criminal..."
Naruto was whisked away to the Hokage office's red building by his father's student.
"Please Uchiha, it was a misunderstanding, no it was a slip of the tongue." However, the man's pleas were unheard of by the police, as he was pinned against the wall by a
"Silence! Don't you dare speak to the head of our clan, like that!" said one of the men.
Uchiha Fuguaku raises a hand, silencing the Uchiha from furthering admonishing the civilian.
"Fugaku-sama?" asked the Uchiha police officer.
"You know the law, all matters about the Jinchūriki are kept secret for the sake of protecting the child and the village. Take him to the death row section. He warranted his own fate. The Hokage words are the law. He will be executed next week."
Echoes of the man's pleas and screams for help echoed across the as the Uchiha dragged him to the prison before they silenced with a backhand.
"Shut up!"
The one considered the strongest in the village was doing paperwork that engulfed his life. If there was anything that Hiruzen hated about being Hokage, it was the paperwork. THE NEVER-ENDING PAPERWORK.
So Sarutobi Hiruzen was glad when he felt his most loyal Anbu called Houn enter the building with Naruto's. He loved the child, but the Hyuga affair incident has reduced his time with the child. He was running left and right, quenching out flames of war. It was exhausting. So he was glad to have a break with Naruto.
Hound entered the office and plopped Naruto on a chair before whispering something in the Hokage ear. The Third Hokage frowned and said, "I see, Hound, you are dismissed."
Hound nodded to the Hokage and disappeared. An uncomfortable silence filled the room.
"Do you want to say something, Naruto?" The Hokage inquiries the young blonde child with a smile.
"Why do the villagers hate me? Did I do something wrong?" The question rang out, asking out in desperation.
The smile vanished as sadness appeared in the old man's eyes before crouching at Naruto level and grabbed his shoulders. "Naruto, you never did something wrong, so don't blame yourself. Don't think that."
"Even if I pulled some pranks?" Naruto asked innocently.
"Yes even- Wait, what did you say? Please tell me you didn't do what I think you did." The Third felt a sense of doom from these words.
"I gave the shopping district a makeover, old man. It was ugly, from the inside and the outside." Naruto explains with a chuckle.
"This brat just created more paperwork for me!"moaned The Third Hokage inwardly before he outwardly gave Naruto a soft smile, then ruffled the blonde boy's hair and beckoned him to follow him. "Come with me Naruto. I want to show you something."
Naruto then followed the old man until they stood atop the Hokage Mountaintop staring down at the Konoha. Hiruzen then looks at Naruto with a serene expression and asked him, "To answer your previous question, Naruto. Do you remember when we met for the first time at that night next to your campfire in the forest and dined on mushroom soup? Remember what I told you about the stars and the world?"
"That they are huge and countless compared to this boundless world," Naruto said, looking confused.
"You are correct, and I also told you that compared to the world, a man is insignificant, and the things that he frets about are petty. The people who hate you are so small to the world, so don't dwell on that. Naruto just focuses on the precious people you have, that's enough." states Hiruzen.
"By precious people. Do you mean like Ayame nee-chan and Old man Tuechi and you Gramps?" Naruto questions.
The blonde's affection brought a gentle pang of fondness to the Third Hokage's heart.
"Remember Naruto what I said to you. Naruto, Konoha is your home, no matter what others say to you or treat you. I will be there for you. Because I'm Hokage and it's my job to help everyone and make sure that they're safe and happy. Especially you because I care about you. You are like a grandchild to me..." Hiruzen's powerful words buried themselves in Naruto's heart. Naruto burst into tears, bawling on the old man's robes.
Naruto's ambition to become Hokage was ignited at that moment. To find someone to help and be cared about, just like the Hokage. He will even die for his dream. To become the greatest Hokage there will ever be.
The dream he cherishes, haunted by memories, is one he knows will forever be out of reach after everything that happened that day. That day marked the beginning of the end.
His dream then turned into a nightmare. And he could do nothing about it but relive these memories in his nightmare. A nightmare where he witnessed the end of everything he cared about.
Every time, the nightmare starts with Otsutsuki Kaguya resurrection, leaving all but Naruto and Sasuke imprisoned in the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Even Uchiha Obito was alive because of the divine tree anchoring his life to his body.
Despite many attempts, Naruto and Sasuke haven't touched the Rabbit goddess simultaneously to use the seal they have been granted by the Sage of Six Paths. Kaguya separated them and maintained her distance, never attempting to kill them by changing dimensions. She merely attempted to absorb the Chakra Naruto and Sasuke possessed. Had she been intent on killing them all along, their deaths would have been immediate.
During this fight Sasuke noticed that with every dimension Kaguya swapped, her speed and strength dipped a little. There were six dimensions interconnected with her jutsu. Kaguya's jutsu causes the destination to move to where she is.
Having battled her for some time, Naruto reached a decision. All Kaguya had was overwhelming power, but she lacked Shinobi's fighting experience that shinobi had after dedicating their lives to the Arts of Battle. Yeah, Kaguya had unmeasurable amounts of Chakra by their standards, so she never had to worry about running out of Chakra in a typical battle. The only thing threatening to eat her reserves away was Kaguya relocating such large dimensions with her Jutsu. It required an immense amount of Chakra, so much so that only Kaguya could do it. She was even showing signs of exhaustion.
So, they kept forcing her to use the swap dimensions, and every time she created a space-time rift, they exploited it to arrive in another dimension. Dipping her already bad fighting skills further with tiredness and frustration.
The plan Naruto put together was ingenious. They took turns being prey or predator in a wild goose chase across dimensions, leading her to waste a tremendous amount of Chakra. The first day of fighting her was like a game of cat and mouse.
"There go thirty shadow clones..." Naruto mutters to Sasuke as he feels their memories and chakra flowing back to him and telling him that Kaguya's chakra levels were getting lower, but her fighting skills were improving at an alarming rate. Her Byakugan and Rinne-Sharingan were being used to read and exploit his movements. Surprise attacks and ambushes she intercepted, Barrages of Rasengan and Jutsu's she tanked.
At the same time, Sasuke, with his Sharingan, was trying to find weaknesses in her fighting style, and said weaknesses in her fighting style were starting to diminish.
The current result was only one successful attack that cut off Kaguya's left arm that contained Black Zetsu. After that, he was pinned into the ground with Sasuke Rinnegan chakra rods.
Naruto was about to celebrate when he glanced at Kaguya, whose left shoulder was frothing and blanched as it grew back.
"She regenerated that left arm like it was nothing." Sasuke thought in disbelief.
"This is really bad, Sasuke. I mean really bad Sasuke," Naruto said anxiously as he even he could feel the exhaustion of supporting Sasuke and fighting Kaguya for two days.
"I know. She is becoming more skilled with her moves, she is becoming more unpredictable with her movements, though I have a rough detail of her fighting style." Sasuke replied in an anxious tone.
"Are you really serious with this plan, Naruto? If this fails, it will be just a waste of Chakra ..." Sasuke asked, making sure he heard that plan right that just came from Naruto.
"Sasuke, what other options do we have here? We need to trap her in our home dimension, and this is our only transportation. She won't fight us there. She called it her precious nursery."
"You are right, that sexy Jutsu nearly worked before," Sasuke admits
"My plans are brilliant because they are unpredictable." Naruto says.
"But she won't fall for the same trick twice, you know that Naruto."
"I know Sasuke, this is the biggest chance we have. She keeps choosing the battlefield. We need to bring her to our battlefield to win. Do you think you can do it, Sasuke?"
"It's not a matter if I can do it. I have to do it." Sasuke thinks intensely.
Sasuke then pools his Chakra into his left eye. The Rinnegan charges up, and suddenly, a dark oval-shaped spiral starts to form. Naruto jumps into the spiral rift, and Sasuke immediately follows in. It was a space-time portal leading straight to their home dimension.
"MOTHER THEY ARE GETTING AWAY!" Black Zetsu screams as he frees himself from the chakra rods with Kaguya. Realizing their plan to escape her domain, she rushes to the dimensional rift, but it is too late. The rift has closed.
"So they escaped. No need to fret. I will just head to the other dimensions and search for them." Kaguya said tonelessly.
"Mother, let's just split up, forget about the Chakra, just kill them," says an irritated Black Zetsu as he forms his black malleable body, with his left hand comprising Kaguya's dismembered one. He uses the arm to form a rift in the air and tells his creator. "I will go to the gravity world. You search for the rest, Mother."
Otsutsuki Hagoromo was waiting for the six path seals of Yin and Yang to return to his hands, a sign of success that his descendants had successfully sealed their founding ancestor. But it has been an entire day of the boys fighting her.
While he and Hamura fought his Mother for months, she was at her full strength. However, his Mother is currently weakened because of her being sealed for an eon by her sons and not having all the tailed beasts chakra back within her. He was just waiting to summon his son's reincarnations and the tailed beasts after they had sealed his Mother away.
Hagoromo was getting worried about the divine tree budding anew, so he was surprised when a portal rift opened, and Sasuke and Naruto emerged covered with sand. "They must have come from my mother's desert dimension." Hagoromo thought.
Naruto immediately scanned his surroundings, and he was glad to see Sage of Six Path and the Hokage's before his face turned grim.
"Naruto?" says the Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato, who was Naruto's father.
"Dad, Super Sage Gramps, we aren't enough to even touch her." Naruto says as he begins to explain the fight.
During this moment, exhausted from opening a space-time rift with his Rinnegan. Sasuke's knees gave away, and his breathing was heavy.
"Finally," Sasuke breathed out before he shrugged off Naruto's hand, "I am all right, just tired. That Space-time jutsu took a lot out of me."
"We can't even come close to her. She keeps switching dimensions, and even if her chakra levels are going down. She is improving her fighting skills faster than us," Naruto explains as he looks at the dead Hokage and the ghostly man for a solution that could solve their problem. "That amount of raw power and stamina she has is hard enough for us to deal with. If she begins to use it skillfully like shinobi. We are doomed."
"The plan Naruto and I came up with is to trap her in this dimension. She can't fight us here. She calls it her nursery so she can't destroy it. So we need to make sure she can't escape so we can confront with no problems. Her chakra levels are high for her to continue fighting but not enough for that jutsu," Sasuke explains.
Hagoromo thought quietly as a plan began to form within his mind. "I have a plan, if this fails. We go for the old plan by forcibly sealing her." stated Hagoromo as he thought of a plan he never tried with Hamura. It was simply crazy and risky, but as he watched Naruto progress with Kurama and the tailed beast. He wanted to try something for his Mother's sake.
"So let's hear the plan. We need to be ready when she comes." Sasuke states with a reassuring voice.
"This will require more than you two, Sasuke and Naruto." Hagoromo told the battle-worn boys.
"So, in other words, the children may need our help." Hashirama says as he shifts into Sage Mode.
All previous Hokage locked their eyes with each other and prepared for battle. Minato holds his Flying Thunder God Kunai in his mouth and nods. Hiruzen readies his staff with a battle-ready expression.
"So what's the plan, Honorable Sage of Six Paths?" Tobirama asks with fire lit in his eyes.
Floating in the air, Kaguya scoured the entire planet in her ice dimension with her Byakugan to find her targets.
"Where are they? They can't just jump to another dimension they haven't entered before, without knowing the coordinates to the dimension." thought Kaguya in frustration before releasing.
"I see. They must have gone back to my precious nursery." Kaguya said to herself, and opened a black rift to the earth. Kaguya smiled at the futile attempt as she entered the rift. Only for her eyes widened as when she emerged from the other side of the rift to meet a gigantic wooden fist closing on her.
"Eighty Gods Vacuum Attack"Kaguya yelled as she immediately sent a barrage of chakra fists clashing with Hashirama's Wood Release Jutsu. The sound of the wooden arm shattering was followed by thousands of grinding parts of the woods.
Kaguya's Byakugan flared, revealing the forest floor teeming with a writhing mass of wooden hands, each reaching out to crush her. A towering wooden statue, its massive form eclipsing the full-sized tailed beast but still smaller than the ten tails, rained blows down upon the landscape. Its 1,000 arms hammered the earth with a deafening roar, narrowly missing Kaguya as she danced through the flurry of attacks, her movements a blur of speed and precision. The air crackled with energy as she unleashed her Eighty Gods Vacuum Attack, pulverizing the wooden arms that dared to touch her.
Then a gigantic shadow obscured them from above. "Sage Art: Gate of the Great God." Hashirama's voice roared from the top of his wooden statue as he performed the Jutsu that could bind the Ten-Tails and suppress its will.
Kaguya looked impassively at the Ten large Torii gates before they came crashing on her, sending her to the ground and stacking on each other. Before, a Bigger Tori gate was piled on top of her.
Kaguya thought, "I can easily break from this restraint in a second. They must be planning something." So she sent a pulse of her own chakra to the structure.
Immediately cracks appeared on the Tori Gates before shattering, Kaguya unbound from her restraints. Suddenly she notices thousands of marks that had been marked on the surface of the gates. These formula marks were scattered as wooden shards all around her.
Suddenly a blonde man in white robes appeared towing an elderly man in armor on one wooden shard, swinging a gigantic bo staff in her direction. The elderly man staff connected with her, nearly dropping her into a nearby mountain.
A kunai with one of the marks was thrown in her direction. It missed, and suddenly Indra reincarnation was teleported here next to the kunai, being held by a man in blue armor. Indra reincarnate then hurled kunai and shuriken at her. Kaguya stepped sideways with ease, only for one giant shuriken to puff into smoke, revealing Naruto with a ferocious smile. The Ashura reincarnate grabbed her arm and proceeded to judo flip her into the earth.
CRASH
Kaguya crashed into the rocky terrain below her. The barrage of attacks had startled Kaguya, but she was unharmed and was already healed from her scratches. Anger and disbelief flooded her mind as her intention changed from draining their chakra to killing them all.
She was about to pick herself up and end those who dared to attack her when she heard a voice that shook her core.
"Mother, it has been a long time. How have you been?" a sorrowful Hagoromo said while he looked at his mother.
"Hagoromo..." Kaguya said before a mixture of emotions whirled within her. Kaguya's face contorted into one of anger and hatred as she remembered her two sons, who took everything from her a thousand years ago. However, her emotions suddenly faltered as she saw Hagoromo's eyes filled with sadness and regret.
"Hagoromo, where is Hamura?" Kaguya asks worriedly about the absence of her son, who would never leave his brother's side.
"He left for the moon to stay close to you and to watch over you, mother." Hagoromo pauses before saying with a mixture of pride and sorrow, "We had children, Mother. I wish you could have spent time with them."
Kaguya calmed herself down and looked at her son. "So Hamura...?" she asked, to hope for an answer.
"Mother, we both have died of old age... and for centuries we both watched over this world as spirits unbound by time for assisting and acting on threats humanity couldn't handle alone." Hagoromo explains with a sigh before adding, "Like now."
Kaguya felt something welling up in her heart, love, and pride at her children and sadness over her alienation from them. Fragments of the humanity she lost were returning. She gained these when she spent time with Tenji and lost it all to fear her clan's retribution.
"I see, so the divine tree was taken down?" Kaguya mutters while thinking deeply as she stared at the planet she should have once consumed if she followed her clan decree.
"It was, before it was reborn through the Ten-Tails resurrection, even though it was cut down to a stump. It's still can grow again under the Infinite Tsukuyomi." says Hagoromo as he points at the stump of the tree.
Kaguya looked at the tree before her eyes widened in fear and revulsion. "Is the divine tree creating a Chakra fruit?" Kaguya said in a horrified voice.
"I thought that's what you wanted, Mother."
"No, I never wanted to destroy this planet. It's my precious nursery." replied Kaguya in a faint voice.
"Then what were all of these sacrifices mother to the divine tree for then?" replied a worried Hagoromo in confusion.
"It was all just to protect my children and the earth." Kaguya says as she presses her hand into her face.
"Who, Mother? We were stronger than everyone and you were the strongest of all." Hagoromo pressed on for answers from his mother.
"Hagoromo, I am not a human being. I am not from this world. I told you that I came from the stars. There are others like me and they view other intelligent species like the people of this planet as inferior creatures. Hagoromo, I told you they don't understand love, they only understand power." Kaguya sighs as she stares at the starry sky with apprehension.
"The clan goals are different from mine. They are like my partner. I turned on him and killed him to save this earth from doing what he did to other planets. But, in doing so, I broke the law of my clan, and I was scared of my clan learning of my betrayal." Kaguya explains in a weary voice as she pressed a hand on her face.
Her explanations surprised all those who heard her, except Hagoromo, who suspected it. "So the chakra fruit is a source of power for them at the expense of the planet's life." Hagoromo says.
Kaguya nodded in confirmation. "The Divine Tree creates a chakra fruit containing a huge amount of Chakra created from the Planet's natural energy and whatever Chakra that exits on the planet. Also, the Chakra fruit is encoded with all genetic information and knowledge of the all the things that transited on the planet, so the person who consumes the completed fruit will gain everything that existed on the planet."
Kaguya then stares at e stump of the tree with.
"This earth chakra fruit is the best one I have seen among countless others. I ate the fruit while it was incomplete to gain the power to protect myself; as it was incomplete, it didn't kill the entire life on earth. Many of my clan members became easy to handle after I ate the fruit. But the entire clan coming after me is a threat even I can't handle." Kaguya admits.
"So the sacrifices were used to create an army," guesses Hiruzen with a ghastly tone.
"If I had to sacrifice a hundred people every year to save my home and peace and the people of this earth, then I would. But I couldn't make normal humans fight my clan. So, I manipulated the divine tree to create powerful soldiers from the people it killed..."
"So the White Zetsu were the remains of people. They were weak compared to you, much weaker. Can they really fight something that is similar to you?" Naruto asks as he pits the army against imaginary enemies of Kaguya's caliber in an imagery battle.
"The majority of them haven't even reached their full potential. Because the divine tree was taken down before the White Zetsu could be strengthened to their full potential. Kaguya explains to Naruto as she feels her eyebrows twitch.
"I know you couldn't have helped it. But couldn't you have found a better way, Mother." requests Hagoromo.
"So then what should I have done, Hagoromo? Then I was scared and alone until I had you and Hamura. I intended to protect you two and the earth from my clan." Kaguya agonized, as all she knew was power and wanted love.
"You could have entrusted the next generation by teaching them how to fight."
"Look at us. We humans found resourcefulness in using chakra for many things. Mostly for war and to protect ourselves." Minato says with a bitter smile.
The words struck a chord within Kaguya's soul. "Entrust your goals to others. I see..." Kaguya thought before smiling sadly and said, "That will be enough for me. You humans are very lucky. When I came here to this planet, I found it was much different from my clan. I learned something here called love, and it was nice."
"Is the place you came from that bad, Mother?" Hagoromo says in a stricken voice.
Kaguya remembered the clan laws and its doctrine, consuming everything all for the sake of power, and said, "Yes, it is. Which is why I never wanted to die as an Otsutsuki waiting to be consumed or consume other living beings' lives. In fact, we have developed a method that made us transcend death. It's similar to the mark you had on your neck, but much better." Her eyes peers at Sasuke's neck were his curse mark with a distaste.
"What I want is to die like a human being and see my children in the afterlife. So, I refuse to be sealed, Hagoromo, if I am being forcibly sealed again," Kaguya said as she stood up in her glory before continuing to say. "- We will fight till the victor remains..." trailing off as she stares at her grandchildren's reincarnations with an idea forming within her head.
"The boy has a physical Rinnegan, and the other one holds portions of the tailed beast's chakra. This may just work." thought Kaguya as a plan formed in her mind.
Naruto gave her an uneasy look, wary of the women that had unrivaled power, had stopped fighting. She was a scary person to fight, but now seeing a more open side in front of her son. Explaining her clan, a clan that's more messed up than any he knows, including the Hyūga with their cursed seal and the Uchiha's own curse of hatred, Naruto felt sympathy for the women. "She must have been scared and alone, with no one to depend on but herself to protect her family and this planet. The world is a big place."
Naruto looked at the Third Hokage and whispered at the old man. "Old man, you were right. The world is so big that there are people living in space and other planets or dimensions."
The Third Hokage lets a soft smile. "I can't believe you still remember our first conversation. Did your memory improve after all these years? Naruto, if you had a memory like this, your grades at the academy wouldn't have been so low." chuckled Hiruzen at Naruto's irritated expression.
Naruto was about to retort at the remark the Third Hokage gave him when suddenly he turned his face to Kaguya when she said, "I believe there is a method that can end my life, as I said death is more preferable to be than being sealed. But it will require the boy's help." Hagoromo's expression became confused by her words.
"But I tried to defeat every method available I had. Hamura and I could only defeat you after we sealed you and scatter your chakra." Hagoromo questioned his Mother.
"But that after you created beings from my chakra, and these beings exist within Ashura reincarnation. My soul is bound to the chakra. If my body is destroyed, the chakra creates a body for me, just like them. The only way for me to die is to lose that chakra that binds me to this earth and have my soul extracted through the Rinnegan and be released." explained Kaguya as she walked over to Naruto and Sasuke.
"That could work. Are you sure about this, Mother?"
"You told me that my time was over and so is yours. So I think it's best to entrust it to those two." Kaguya says as she gestures to her living descendants.
"Before I go, if any of you meet my clan members, give them hell and show them death. Just beware of them marking you." Kaguya beams at the thought of her clan's demise.
She suddenly holds her hand out in front of Naruto and says, "This is going to hurt, boy." she warns Naruto in a tender voice that surprised him.
Suddenly, an unquantifiable amount of chakra exploded from her and began to swirl around the mountainside before it began to gather around Naruto. Then suddenly, it rushed to Naruto's abdomen where his seal resided.
Naruto hunched over as he felt the eight trigrams seal black marking turned red-hot as the seal was stressed by the excessive chakra Kaguya was returning to the Tailed Beasts within him. Naruto felt the excessive chakra burning within him, wanting to erupt like an impatient volcano. "This is Hot.." Naruto grits out.
Naruto then felt the chakra split into the nine beings within him. The fragments of chakra of the tailed beasts were turning whole. The pain ebbed away as the nine immense chakra beasts regained their full chakra within Naruto's seal, making Naruto feel.
Naruto glanced at Kaguya and sensed that her current chakra reserves were still higher than any Kage but not much higher than a Jinchūriki or a tailed beast, but her chakra was still more potent, her chakra was more potent than any other human could be.
Kaguya turns and faces Sasuke. "Indra reincarnation, can you access the outer path with your Rinnegan?" Then, she requests the exhausted Uchiha with a task he doesn't know how to accomplish.
"This Rinnegan is still new, and I am inexperienced with it. What are these paths?" Sasuke says as he slumps with a forlorn expression.
Hagoromo began to chuckle with pride at his descendant. "You are the first Indra Incarnation, who is this humble. The others were in battle, arrogant and conceding. I can help you with that. Just grab my chakra form and I will channel my power to affect my Mother through your Rinnegan. It's the least I can do after what I put her through." Hagoromo said in a voice tinged with guilt.
Sasuke grabs the hem of the cloak composed of the chakra of the ghostly Sage of six paths, and he feels his chakra flooding his left eye and the man weaving hand signs before saying, "Outer path: Transmigration of Life."
Kaguya began to glow, and her body glowed before splitting into three. Madara's body, used to host Kaguya's resurrection, collapsed, lying on the ground facing the starry sky. Kaguya's soul was severed from the withered husk of the Ten-Tails. Cracks began to form on the Gedo Statue and then crumbled into ashes as Hagoromo had dissipated its life force and destroyed it.
The now visible soul of Kaguya glanced at her surroundings for the last time before looking at the divine tree and frowned at it before facing her living descendants with a stern expression.
"My last piece of advice for you children, don't touch the chakra fruit. If the chakra fruit within the divine tree is plucked, The tree will immediately kill the ones entrapped within the Infinite Tsukuyomi and don't leave them trapped there for more than a two years that will kill them." Kaguya's ghostly spirit, warning the boys of the danger of the chakra fruit to the world.
"Hey, Bunny Granny, how do we undo this Genjutsu?" Naruto asks the ascending spirit of the mother of Shinobi.
"Ask Hagoromo. He can tell you how he did it. He and Hamura undid the Infinite Tsukuyomi a thousand years ago." She says curtly before her soul departs into the pure land.
Silence filled the valley before the sounds of dying breaths came from Madara. Madara's eyes were fluttering. His Rinnegan had reverted to the Sharingan because of the chakra exhaustion from the tailed beast's extraction, claiming Madara's life.
Sasuke took a step towards Madara. Before he could come close, Hagoromo held out his arm, stopping Sasuke in his tracks. Then, behind them, Hashirama walked up to his fallen half-blind friend and stood over his body.
"Madara was a Jinchūriki. Even if it was temporary, emptied of the tailed beasts, he won't last long." Explained the Sage to Sasuke while looking at the previous reincarnates of his children.
"I see, but was it worth it?" Sasuke asks the sage. "His dream and mine are not so different, peace through one sole power or an illusion..." contemplates Sasuke over his ideology.
The Sage muses over Sasuke's words before indicating to Madara and Hashirama, "Sasuke, Naruto. Behold the end of your predecessors. You should watch this closely. Learn from this."
"Is that you, Hashirama?" Madara called out weakly as Hashirama kneeled by his side.
Hashirama nodded and said, "It's me."
"I guess neither you nor I could achieve what we wanted." Despaired Madara, as he knew that both of their dreams wouldn't come true while they were alive.
"It's never that easy!" protested Hashirama before explaining his will of fire that has been passed that kept his dream alive. "Our Job is to do all that we can while we're alive. And then, bequeath the rest for future generations to accomplish."
"So naïve...as usual." Madara smiled sadly before giving a sad chuckle.
"You... were always... the optimist. But perhaps... that is the correct path," Madara admitted. He could afford to be gracious now that it was all over. "My dream... was squashed. But your dream... still lives on."
"We were both too hasty," Hashirama corrected gently. "We didn't need to fulfill our dreams ourselves. It was more important to cultivate those who would come after us... to whom we could entrust our dreams."
"Which means I would have failed anyway," Madara countered. "Since I always hated someone... standing behind me..."
"When we were kids..." Hashirama said, "You once said we're shinobi and we don't know when we'll die. And that for neither side to die, we'd both have to reveal what's inside of us and pour each other drinks to toast like brothers. But we're both about to die. Right now, we can drink together as war buddies." Hashirama said as he gave a small, sad smile to his greatest rival and friend.
Madara felt the last of his life ebbing away.
"War buddies... huh?" he said. "Well... I guess... that's ok... by..." Closing his eyes, Madara died as he said these words.
"This is the perfect moment; I will free the Hokage under the Reanimation Jutsu."
These words gave Naruto a sudden shock and confusion as he glanced at the sage before looking at his father's face. Then, Naruto peered at the starry night sky, wishing for the night to not end.
"Go,"said Kurama inside his seal, his voice that held no judgment and a bit of regret.
Naruto sprang to his father's side. "Dad..." Naruto said in a voice full of longing for his father that he barely had time to spend with him.
"Oh, that's right. I've meant to tell you..." Minato says as the dawn approaches and gives its first light at the end of the war.
"Happy birthday. You've become a splendid young man, Naruto." continued Minato with a proud smile gracing his face.
Naruto closed his eyes before replying with a sad smile, "Yeah... Thank you."
"We're an existence outside of the rules. We can't remain in this world forever. It's time to say goodbye." Minato explained gently to Naruto, who gave a sad nod of understanding.
"Naruto, I promise to tell Kushina everything." Minato's voice shook with great pride and sadness as his reanimated body began to glow.
Naruto's eyes widened with deep sadness before he began to ramble, "Tell her not to worry! I'm eating properly! I'm not picky and eat lots of different stuff! Like tonkotsu ramen, miso ramen, and shoyu ramen. Oh! But not just ramen, though! Uhhh, I try to bathe every day! I go to the Leaf Hot Springs once in a while too! What else, What else..." Naruto said as he awkwardly placed his hands behind his head and tried to collect his thoughts and words to give to his departing dad.
"I've made lots of friends! And they're all good guys! And... I was really awful at school, but I never got depressed and had more confidence than anyone else! Naturally, I always obeyed Lord Third and Kakashi Sensei. I respected them both. They are right here, you can ask them yourself! Oh! And those three prohibitions of Shinobi? I learned a lot about that when I was with Pervy Sage! He was hopeless when it came to them, though. But he was an awesome Sannin, and I respected him the most! I just turned 17 today, so I don't know much about alcohol or girls. I know Mom said to find someone like her, but... that's um... anyway! Not everything Mom told me about went well, but I'm doing the best I can! So when you see Mom over there, please tell her that she doesn't have to worry about me at all! Tell her I'm doing my best!" Naruto shouted and hiccuped as tears streamed down his face.
"Got it. I'll make sure to tell her everything." Minato said, as his soul disappeared back into the afterlife.
"Sasuke, Naruto," addressed Sarutobi Hiruzen. Both teenagers looked at the professor, who looked after them in their childhood.
"Naruto, go look for my belongings. In my closet, there is a scarf that your mother knitted for you. Sasuke, your parents, will have become extremely proud of the man you became. Goodbye, I leave everything to you, Sasuke and Naruto." Sarutobi said before fading away.
"Old man!" Naruto said sadly, tears flooding his face despite him wiping his eyes.
"Lord Third!" said Sasuke respectfully and looked down, thinking hard.
"Elder Brother, you finally settled things with Madara. As Saru said... let's leave the rest to the next generation." Said the Second Hokage as his reanimated body, composed to ash, crumpled, returning to the afterlife.
Senju Hashirama looked at the blonde boy wiping his tears and the conflicted-looking dark-haired boy, and smiled as he saw his will of fire burning within those two. "Uzumaki Naruto... Uchiha Sasuke... You two will probably find a different conclusion than we did. No... Make sure you do."Thought Hashirama before departing the world of the living.
"Sending Mother to the Afterlife and undoing the Hokage reanimation jutsu has drained me. Madara's lower body chakra is running out fast," Hagoromo thought before saying, "Now then all that is left is to undo the Infinite Tsukuyomi."
"Yeah, how do we do that?" Naruto asked impatiently.
Sasuke peered at the sage in a questioning manner.
"Naruto, you have every tailed beast sealed with you. Sasuke possesses the Rinnegan. If both of you weave the sign for Rat simultaneously, the jutsu will be undone." The sage explains the requirements to free the people trapped within the world of dreams.
"That's it?" Naruto questioned in disbelief.
"Can such a powerful Genjutsu be really undone like that?" Sasuke asked the Sage.
Hagoromo's ghostly chakra form began to flicker unstable. "Maintaining a connection to the world is getting harder. I am running out of time. Anyway, I have researched thoroughly on how to undo Mother's Infinite Tsukuyomi. There's no mistake." Hagoromo explained patiently before he smiled at them, "Sasuke and Naruto, I asked you before. After battling my mother, Kaguya, and learning all of what you learned today. Is there any change to the answers you gave me?"
"My answer is the same, but learning that we are descendants of aliens... makes me wonder how many worlds are there and did they really struggle for peace like us," Naruto said tonelessly.
"And what about you Sasuke?" asked Hagoromo.
Sasuke's body stiffened before replying, "It changed. Once I knew there were going to be problems in the future like Kaguya, I told myself I can't face them alone. So, I decided not to kill Naruto." Sasuke pauses as he looks at Naruto's blank stare that was still processing his words before continuing as he slumped over in defeat.
"No, I can't kill him. It's too hard for me to do it. After spending an entire day fighting alongside him again, it's impossible." Sasuke said in a defeated manner before smirking at the shocked expression on Naruto's face.
"What... on earth ... WERE YOU PLANNING, SASUKE?" Naruto asked in a comically outraged manner. "Thinking about killing me, FORGET ABOUT THAT SASUKE, I WILL SHOW YOU. YOU CAN'T EVEN BEAT ME," Naruto yelled at the top of his lungs as he rolled up his torn and damaged jacket sleeve and shook his fist at Sasuke.
"Forget it, you idiot. That look doesn't suit you," snorted Sasuke as he teased Naruto. Then Sasuke's expression turned serious, "I meant to cut the last connection I had, You Naruto." Sasuke told Naruto, whose expression turned into deep confusion.
"Why?" came Naruto's voice, asking for answers from his closest friend.
"To become a version of a Hokage that focuses the world himself. All for the sake of peace. Then, as the world unites against me in a never ending battle, there will be peace. For that to happen, I had to be the strongest, and nothing could be used against me, even bound and emotions." Explained Sasuke.
"Were you planning to go to the hell that was loneliness again? Do you think I would have let you do that, Sasuke?" yelled Naruto.
"You would have stopped me. So I decided not to do it. Now I only have one answer. Naruto, what am I to you?" Sasuke said in a voice that sounded lost for answers.
"A dear friend," Naruto states with a grin.
"I heard that many times, but what exactly does that mean to you anyway?" Sasuke asks earnestly.
Naruto looked at the rising sun, thinking deeply. "You ask me to explain it, but I really can't put it into words. It's just that... When I see you take on stuff and get all messed up... it kinda hurts me."
Sasuke's expression shifted into one of surprise recognition as he was touched by Naruto's words. "It hurts so much inside that I can't just leave it alone, y'know?" Naruto breathed out these words.
"Naruto..." Sasuke said as complex emotions swirled within him, and he accepted them all. He had to accept Naruto as a brother, a friend, and a rival, because Naruto was the closest living person to him. Someone he could share his pain with. Because he felt the same with Naruto when he saw Naruto was hurting during their days in Team 7. After he left Konoha, he just forgot the feeling and attempted to cut his bond with Naruto, the only person who refused to let go of his bond with him.
The reason for leaving was all because of his jealousy of Naruto's strength that he didn't have. And couldn't just accept that strength was just like his late elder brother, Itachi? So he won't repeat his mistakes again.
Sasuke opened his mouth and uttered words he never thought he would mutter. "I admit it, Naruto, you are strong, stronger than me. I acknowledge you as my friend, brother and rival. Because I understand you, we are the same." Sasuke said to Naruto's surprise. Hagoromo looked quite pleased.
"I Just accepted you Naruto. Then the long cycle of destiny of the brothers' battle will end here, isn't that right?" Sasuke says to the sage.
Hagoromo nodded, looking extremely happy and proud as he began to glow. "It seems it is almost time for me to go. I'm proud of you both. Protect each other. Sasuke and Naruto, you showed me the answer. Now show the answer to all Shinobi." Hagoromo says he fades away.
Naruto walked to Sasuke's side and punched his shoulder.
"Ouch, the hell Naruto." Sasuke complained.
"You deserved it, Sasuke. Anyway, we did it. We just saved the world." Naruto says with a laugh.
Sasuke was sporting a soft smile. "You are a damn fool, Naruto. We didn't do a damn thing. This was all the Sage did by talking to his mother. It's a miracle that Kaguya left everything to us, just like everyone else."
"Well, she has a mother's heart, you know. She was bound to listen to her son's wishes. Now let's release everyone from this stupid genjutsu, Sasuke!" Naruto said as he hooked his arm around Sasuke's neck.
Sasuke smiles and says, "Form the rat seal, you idiot. Before you forgot the way to undo the Infinite Tsukuyomi."
"Shut up." Naruto's forehead twitches in annoyance. "Geez... I forgot how annoying he was." Naruto thought.
Suddenly Sasuke's eyes widen as he looks at something behind Naruto. A dimensional rift was opening behind Naruto's unsuspecting body. A familiar hardened gray sharp bone was emerging from the rift. An All-Killing Ash Bone-
"Kaguya is dead, then this must be-" Sasuke panics as he realizes their mistake. They had forgotten about the hidden enemy that worked for centuries in the shadows to revive Kaguya.
'Amenotejikara!'Sasuke instantly swapped places with Naruto and felt the killing ash bone hit his abdomen. Unbelievable pain raced against his body as Sasuke began to fall before feeling the bone-numbing pain spread over his entire body.
"SASUKE!" Naruto screamed as he realized that Sasuke had been hit by something for his own sake. Naruto scrambled to his side and caught him before he hitting the ground. Slowly he lowered Sasuke's head to his rest on his lap.
One look at the wound, Naruto knew the outcome. His own clones that were hit by that fatal bone technique never returned their remaining chakra. Sasuke faced certain death, but the effect of crumbling was much slower because its power was limited by the wielder of Kaguya's left arm that was cut off. If he compared it to his own clones that had been hit, Sasuke had 5 minutes at most to live before crumbling to ashes. His clones only had 3 seconds.
"I am surprised. You are the first of Indra's reincarnates to protect the other half of his coin," said the malleable darkness that was Black Zetsu emerging from the rift he bought with Kaguya's hand. For once, his face wasn't smiling with its jagged teeth. It was curved upside down, and there was deep fear in his eyes.
"Where is mother? Did you kill her... No, you two must have cheated? It's impossible..." deranges Black Zetsu.
Naruto watched Sasuke as his skin turned gray and tried to move his hands on his own face. Only for his skin to begin to crack. "Naruto..." Sasuke croaked out in pain.
Deep hatred flooded Naruto's veins as he let out a guttural scream as he rushed at Black Zetsu with the intention of killing him.
Naruto wakes up from his nightmare from the call of an old man. "Naruto, you better be awake when I get there," yelled a voice belonging to an old man.
Lying on the hay of straws that had been used as a bed for the past year. Finally, Naruto pulled himself and stood and brushed off the dried straws stuck on his Kimono. Naruto emerged from the small hut that he built, his head bumping in the doorway. And looks down at the elderly tall man carrying something wrapped in a bundle in a cloth. Across his hut was a village whose houses are made from bamboo fibers shaped like Kabuto helmets with a chonmage on top.
The old man was over two meters towering over most people in the village due to him wearing extremely tall geta sandals on his feet. The only one he had to crank his head upward to look someone directly in their face was Naruto. Naruto blamed his height growth on Black Zetsu's whacked-out Space-Time Jutsu that distorted his body size. As a result, he woke up with his body taller than 2 meters. He knew his height was now more than 2.5 meters.
The elderly man wore a red tengu mask that had an extremely long nose covering his face. A pair of large wings were on his back. He wore a dark jacket with light green poofs along its inner edges over a light kimono, along with dark blue puffy trousers and tall geta sandals.
"Old man Hitetsu, what is it?" Naruto looked at his current guardian, Tenguyama Hitetsu, a master swordsmith who decided to take him to teach him about the rules of the land of Wano. The old swordsmith once grumbled at him, "You are not going to leave Amigasa Village. If I let you out now, you are going to make Oden look tame in his young days. If that happens, Orochi will want your head, and that will bring a lot of trouble."
The old man looks at the hut, seeing the scattered books that Naruto has been writing on. Before glancing at the corner of the hut, and sees the black sheath that held a chokutō. The man frowns at Naruto's writings before muttering something that Naruto did not catch and turning on him, telling Naruto, "I told you ..."
"Blah blah... I heard that lecture many times, old man. You took me because I was still a child who looked like he was lost. You don't want me to die in Kaido or Orochi. The land of Wano need this..." Naruto said to him before looking at the bundle with interest as he saw something within it was moving and crying.
"Is that a baby..." Naruto's eyes widened as he gently took the bundle and peered at the baby's face. It was a baby girl, and she had a dark violet fuzzy mop. Her violet eyes had immediately stopped crying as she peered at him with curiosity.
"Her mother died giving birth last night. You know that the lack of food is scarce, and it weakened the mother's body and her father was killed by Orochi men while the woman was unknowingly pregnant." explained Hitetsu bitterly.
"She has no one, but us ..." Naruto says sadly as the baby girl reaches his pinky with her hands.
"Tama has no one else but us and the village." Agrees the master swordsmith. "You are going to help me raise " glared the old swordsmith at Naruto. "You can forget about the plan and help in this village. "
"Huh, this is going to mess up my schedule and my plan." groaned Naruto as he grabbed a chokutō from the corner. Sasuke's Sword was the last thing he had of the Uchiha he called his closest friend.
However, the Sword was not the only thing he from his previous world. Naruto's partner, Kurama, and his eight siblings were in a deep sleep within his seal due to them protecting him from Black Zetsu's crazy plan that somehow landed Naruto here in the Land of Wano. "Space-time Ninjutsu was tricky and dangerous stuff to mess with."Naruto thought.
Before he was sent here, Naruto created a seal in his left hand that served as a gateway to a pocket dimension based on a storage scroll and the eight trigrams seal.
Anything sealed within here can never be physically brought out again. It existed as information and chakra within the seal. The seal's only flaw was that it could only seal non-living things, and there was no point in sealing weapons and equipment there.
As he could no longer retrieve it once sealed, he only read them within the seal mindscape, like interacting with the Tailed-Beasts.
Here he stashed many scrolls and books of information he gathered after the downfall of his world. It consisted of everything Shinobi and Samurai had written, comprising the Sealing Arts that he unearthed from the ruins of his ancestral land of the Uzumaki clan, the Forbidden Scroll of Seals he stole once he was a kid, and also the Samurai way of the Sword from the Land of Iron and many other things like Medical ninjutsu, budgets reports of nation, countries mission reports and tactic books from the previous Kage.
Naruto had everything his previous world had to offer, but not his friends or family. They were all dead. So he wants to pay the people who took him by helping them out. No matter what, he will help them.
A/N Hello, this is R8handman. I have binged, read, and watched One Piece. It's manga and anime. The story is terrific; its comedy and characters are top-notch. The plot has a good build-up. I have currently caught up with the story and will be focusing on this Story. My other story (A amnesiac transmigrate in the world of heroes)will be placed aside for a while. I am not abandoning my other story. I will return to it one day. I am intended to focus on this story and have fun writing this one. Naruto will be placed in the upper tiers of the story, but he won't be the strongest. He will have to earn it. Please enjoy and leave a review.
A/N 2: So, I decided to rewrite the first chapter. To improve this story. And I think it more smooth than before. Still I am surprised we have this much support for a 300k story. Never thought I will reach this far.
