Genshin Impact: Creating Chaos as the 6th Harbringer

Chapter 4: Chapter 4 Traveller

Lumine was tired from the Journey from Monstaldt to Liyue Harbour, not from the Journey itself but from the continuous fight with the Treasure Hoarders, the hilichurls and the Abyss monsters. She thought Liyue was one of the more prosperous regions compared to Monstaldt. It didn't help the fact that she got nothing as a reward for helping solve the Dragon crisis, not even information about her older brother. At least she got some benefits like discounts for stuff in the store but even that wouldn't help her when she has a gluttonous fairy by her side.

A few hours later they could see the Harbour, the road seemed to go on forever. The salty smell of the ocean breeze brought excitement in the busy markets and a fresh start.

"I still can't believe we really did it!" Paimon floated next to her, spinning in the air. "Beating Dvalin and saving Mondstadt, Paimon thinks we're like heroes now! Everyone probably loves us!"

Lumine looked at her with a side glance, lips turning into a serious smile. "Right. Heroes. Except when they forget our names two minutes later or think I'm just 'that Honorary Knight.'"

"Oh, come on!" Paimon said angrily, crossing her little arms. "You're too grumpy. Remember the treasure waiting for us in Liyue! The food, the Mora, the—wait, food! Lumine, you still owe Paimon sticky honey roast!"

Lumine rolled her eyes. "First, I don't owe you anything. Second, why do you think Liyue Harbor is giving away free food? Let me guess, you want to 'try' everything again and leave me to handle the vendors."

Paimon gasped in shock. "Paimon never does that! Okay… maybe just once. Or twice. But it's not Paimon's fault they don't accept adventurer credit!"

Lumine laughed out loud. "Adventurer credit? That doesn't exist, Paimon. It's just stealing."

Paimon frowned, then smiled when she saw the harbor. Its golden rooftops shone in the afternoon sun. "Look, we're nearly there! Liyue Harbor is so large and shiny! It's almost shouting 'wealth and adventure!'"

"It's shouting 'more problems and expensive dumplings,'" Lumine said quietly. Still, she had to agree the view was impressive. The idea of work—of Mora—made her feel a bit happier.

As they got closer to the gates, Paimon talked excitedly about exploring the city and meeting the locals. "Maybe Rex Lapis will give us a reward! Just think, divine treasure!"

"Just think," Lumine replied dryly, "if we didn't almost die getting that treasure."

Paimon turned in front of her with her hands on her hips. "Lumine, Paimon thinks you need to change your attitude. A smile would be nice!"

"Paimon, I only smile in front of hot guys, food and Mora," Lumine replied, finally showing a small, crooked smile.

The two entered the harbor, still joking as they walked into the busy streets.

However unbeknownst to both of them, a lot of eyes were watching them eager to take advantage of them.

Nicholas was chatting with Childe when his subordinates came rushing to the room

"My lords, the blonde traveller you told us to keep track off has entered Liyue Harbour, this moment, the agents are ready to kidnapped" He respectfully said kneeling

"Well, my dear Childe, you have found your sparring partner and the warrior was talking about" He tells Childe, who has a stupid grin on his face, itching to fight against her.

"Send two agents and invite her to meet me, if she doesn't want to , say, that I have information about a blond traveller that looks similar to her." I tell the agent

"If she still doesn't want to just give the Northland VIP business card"

"Wait wait, the VIP Card really?, if she gets it she would have the same treatment as the Fatui lieutenant. Are you sure you want to give this to her?" Childe asks scratching his head why Nicholas wants to give this much treatment to her.

Nicholas just gives Childe a wry smile.

If you only knew, how much damage she causes to the Fatui in the future

"Don't worry about it, I'm very interested in her after reading about what happened in Monstaldt" He puts a hand on Childe's shoulder to reassure him. "Besides if everything goes right, you could have a sparring partner and not bother me and Signora"

Lumine walked into the Northland Bank, looking around at the fancy decorations inside. Paimon hovered just behind her, already complaining.

"Why do we have to come here? This place makes Paimon uneasy!"

"Because," Lumine said with a smile, "if the Fatui are here, it's important to know what trouble they're causing this time." Her voice was cheerful, but her look was very serious.

At the far end of the room, Zanni sat waiting for them, elegantly seated on a tall chair. He was sitting comfortably with his legs crossed—one leg over the other—as if he owned not just the bank but Liyue itself.

Lumine looks at Zanni, yeah he was handsome but the thing that drew her close to him was his eyes, she wants to look at it forever. Before she could fall into it, Zanni's voice breaks her off from her trance.

"Ah, the Traveler," Zanni greeted, "And her sidekick."

"Paimon's not just a sidekick!" Paimon huffed, puffing up indignantly. "Paimon's her guide and best friend!"

"Of course," Zanni replied smoothly, his tone indulgent. "How fortunate she is to have you."

Lumine crossed her arms, leaning casually against the ornate chair. "Let's skip the flattery. What do you want?"

"Straight to the point." Zanni laughed and stood up smoothly. "I like that. Okay. I've been watching what you've been doing, and I think we might have the same goals."

"Not a chance," Lumine replied, her lips twisting into a sarcastic smile. "I don't usually work with people who kick gods and steal their Gnosis wherever they go."

Zanni pretended to look hurt, placing his hand dramatically on his chest. "Those are very harsh words. But I promise, I mean no harm. In fact, I think we can do great things together."

Lumine squinted her eyes. "You want to work with me?" Her voice was full of doubt. "I hope you understand if that sounds a bit silly."

Paimon flew closer, whispering loudly, "He's definitely planning something!"

"Paimon, of course," Lumine said, rolling her eyes. "The question is, what does he want?"

Zanni held his hands behind his back and walked slowly. "What I want, my dear traveller is to work together, think of it as employment and in reward I will give you information about you brother."

Lumine's smile disappeared, and she looked more serious. "What do you know about him?"

"A great deal," Zanni said, his tone smooth and measured. "More than anyone in Teyvat, save perhaps your dear sibling himself."

Paimon's eyes widened as she hovered in front of Lumine protectively. "Hey! Don't you dare use Lumine's brother to get her to do something shady!"

"Shady, no,no" Zanni shakes his head."I'm a pure good hearted working man that wants to make a living in this cruel world"

Lumine tilted her head, her golden hair catching the dim light. "And you're just going to share this out of the goodness of your heart?"

"Not quite." Zanni's eyes gleamed "I propose a partnership. You help me with delicate matters, and I provide you with everything I know. Think of it as a partnership. If you need anything, the Fatui will provide you with Mora and other resources"

"And if I refuse?"

Paimon crossed her tiny arms. "Yeah! What if we don't want anything to do with your sneaky Fatui stuff?"

Zanni's smile widened ,"You won't."

Lumine held his gaze, her mind racing. He was dangerous—too smooth, too controlled, too hot—but if he had even a fraction of information on Aether

"Fine," she said finally, her voice laced with sarcasm. "Let's hear this 'delicate matter.' But if you're lying" She let the words hang, her smile as sharp as her blade.

"Yeah! If you're lying, Paimon's gonna gonna uh call the Qixing! And you won't like that!" Paimon added, wagging a finger.

Zanni inclined his head, unruffled. "I would expect nothing less."

"Here's to a great partnership." Zanni says as he shakes her hand. She can see the smile curled in amusement, as if he got a new toy to play. She just hopes it doesn't cause trouble to her.
