Chapter 8: CH 8 Ronova fear and Phanes viewes
As Phanes walked towards where Ronova was, he couldn't shake off a troubling thought. What if his actions led to another mistake, similar to the one he had witnessed in the future—a paradox created between her rules and his? He paused, opening a private communication channel, and sent a message:
Phanes: "I have a question that troubles me. I saw a future where someone working for me allowed a person I dislike to create a paradox between her rules and mine. I'm uncertain about how to deal with her. Should I punish her or not?"
Phanes stared at the message, awaiting a response. His hesitation wasn't born solely from uncertainty—it stemmed from a lesson learned. In the past, he would have delivered the harshest punishment imaginable. But the future he had glimpsed showed the catastrophic consequences of such a decision, leading him to reconsider.
There was also another reason. His sister had a deep affection for Ronova, seeing her as more than just a subordinate. She often teased Ronova, insisting she call her "auntie," a playful yet affectionate term. To his sister, Ronova was like a daughter, a sentiment strengthened by the fact that Ronova, like all the shades, was a part of him, created from his very essence.
His sister's words echoed in his mind: "They are your children, Phanes, as much as they are mine."
Phanes had never considered the shades as anything more than tools—creations designed with a singular purpose: to fight and assist in the battle against the dragon race. To him, they were extensions of his will, devoid of individuality or emotion, mere instruments of divine intent. Only Asmodeus, among them, he viewed differently. She was, in his eyes, the epitome of divinity, a being of perfect design, akin to himself.
When he expressed these thoughts to his sister, her reaction was swift and visceral. She slapped him, her voice trembling with a mix of anger and sorrow. "This is too cruel! Your divinity makes you too cruel."
Her words hung in the air, cutting through the silence like a blade. For a moment, she turned away, leaving in a storm of emotions. Yet, her absence was brief. She returned, her expression softened, she hugged him her voice carrying the weight of regret. "I am sorry, brother."
She finally understood the futility of trying to reshape his perspective. His divinity was an unyielding force, a core aspect of his being that rendered him distant from the empathy and warmth she cherished. No matter how much she wished for him to see beyond the cold logic of his divine nature, it was an impossibility. The very concepts that defined their existence—her humanity, with its capacity for love and compassion, and his divinity, with its stern detachment—were immutable.
As she reflected on this, a profound sadness settled within her. The cruel irony of their existence was that despite being siblings, forged from the same primordial essence, they were destined to walk different paths. She thought of voicing this pain, but the words caught in her throat. Perhaps some truths were too heavy to share, even with those closest to her.
Phanes stopped thinking about it as he saw the first message to appear
Bronya : "Without knowing the full context, it's difficult to make a definitive judgment. However, punishment should not be your first resort. If this person's actions were due to misunderstanding or circumstance, then guiding them to understand the consequences of their actions might be more effective. Only when all other avenues are exhausted should punishment be considered, and even then, it should be fair and proportional."
Elysia :"A paradox between your rules and hers? That sounds intriguing! But before you jump to punishments, consider this: mistakes can often lead to growth and new understanding. Perhaps instead of punishing her, you could find a way to resolve the paradox together. Who knows what insights might come from collaboration?."
March07 :"Punish her? That sounds harsh! Mistakes happen, and sometimes, they're not intentional. If this person is someone you care about or if someone close to you does then maybe try talking to her first. Find out why she did what she did. People deserve second chances, don't you think?."
Welt : "When dealing with a paradox, especially one that involves conflicting rules, it's essential to understand the broader implications. Punishment without understanding could lead to more harm than good. Consider the long-term effects of your decision on both her and your relationship with those around you. Justice should be tempered with wisdom and compassion."
Phanes readed everything and finally respondd."thank you for helping me you all right i shouldnt punshi her for something that didn't happened, yet"
Phanes made his decision and turned back, his mind clearer after the guidance he received. Meanwhile, in Celestia, Ronova lay in her room, engrossed in a book about a princess and a prince. Suddenly, an icy chill coursed through her body, a sensation she recognized all too well. It was the unmistakable feeling of narrowly escaping a grim fate(death).
Her eyes widened as she muttered to herself, "Who told her what I said? I bet it was Istaroth again, spreading lies to Auntie."
There were only two beings in existence who could evoke such fear in her: her 'Father' Phanes and her aunt, who could be terrifying when enraged. She ruled out Phanes as the source of her current dread; he typically remained indifferent unless someone broke his sacred rules. But she hadn't done anything... or had she?
Two potential infractions flashed in her mind. First, she had secretly lent power to a human, inadvertently disrupting the balance and causing the fall of the Pyro throne. But her aunt had assured her she would handle that situation. Could it be that 'Father' had discovered her aunt's plan?
The thought made her head spin. "This is too much. My brain is exploding," she groaned, massaging her temples in frustration.
Taking a deep breath, Ronova shook her head, trying to dismiss her anxieties. "It doesn't matter anymore," she whispered to herself, and focuses on the book.
