Genshin Impact: I Became The Son Of Greater Lord Rukkhadevata

Chapter 26: Chapter 26: I Came At A Wrong Time

Yu was locked in battle with Apep.

He summoned a massive wooden Buddha with three heads and six arms, each arm restraining one part of Apep's colossal dragon body. Wielding the Vortex Vanquisher, Yu relentlessly slashed at the limbs of the enormous dendro dragon.

Magic projectiles filled the sky, bombarding the wooden Buddha. Despite the tremors from the blasts, the Buddha stood tall and unwavering.

"Apep! The moment you chose to flee, you ceased to be the once-mighty Dragon King of Dendro. Now, you're nothing more than a wretch clinging to life beneath the desert sands! A true king, even in death, dies on their throne. You are unworthy!"

Apep grew increasingly furious. The concentration of dendro energy in the air had become so dense it was manifesting as a tangible force. She couldn't fathom why this lunatic kept taunting her while fighting, each word striking precisely at her sore spots.

"I sacrificed everything for the truth! You, ignorant fool, will never understand!"

"Ignorant? Hahaha!"

"A false sky cannot imprison a true king! In the dark forest of the universe, even illusions offer protection. You are the ignorant one—have you even heard of the dark forest?"

Admittedly, Apep hadn't. Such knowledge was forbidden to her, classified at the highest level.

"You fancy yourself a true king, but to me, you're nothing but a clown!"

At that moment, the massive wooden figure swung a fist at Apep's head. Yu seized the opportunity, using the Vortex Vanquisher to cleave her head clean off. Yet, like a worm, it quickly regenerated.

"Save your strength! I am the master of life! You cannot kill me. Your fate is to be shattered beneath my fury."

"You speak as if regeneration is exclusive to you. Everything has its limits—if I can't kill you once, I'll kill you a thousand times. If a thousand doesn't work, I'll multiply it by a thousand again! One day, you'll fall. Let's see who outlasts whom."

"You, a mere minor god, dare spout such arrogance before a dragon? What gives you the nerve?!"

---

Three days later.

"You're the toughest opponent I've ever faced! Fighting you has me exhilarated! I feel absolutely alive!!!"

This wasn't Yu taunting anymore—he had truly entered a state of euphoria, completely lost in the thrill of battle.

---

Inazuma.

"Big Sister, what do you think Yu's doing right now?" Ei asked, frowning slightly.

"Why, have you fallen for him?" Makoto teased, raising an eyebrow.

"I… I'm just curious."

"Let me think… Rumor has it he's a prince. A prince is probably dancing with some beautiful girl right now."

"Big Sister!"

"I'm not joking. Look at Sasayuri—he's a big deal among the yokai, and plenty of little spirits admire him. Yu is far stronger; why wouldn't he attract admirers?"

---

Back on the battlefield.

"Apep! Can you still keep dancing? I'm not down yet! If you fall now, I'll be very disappointed!"

"You, a mere minor god, haven't fallen. How could a dragon like me fall? To fight alongside me is your honor! Prepare to die!"

---

Inazuma.

Ei slammed the table with determination. "That's it—I'm going to find him!"

"Are you sure?"

"There's nothing urgent lately. I'll be away for a while."

---

Another two days and nights passed.

As the former Dragon King of Dendro, Apep's endurance was extraordinary. Yet now, what fueled her was no longer rage—it was pure stubbornness.

These past few days, their so-called battle had felt more like a prolonged beating. Apep had been pummeled non-stop. Due to a falling nail from the heavens, she had lost part of her power, which was why she'd ended up as one of the Scarlet King's subordinates. At this point, her only advantage over Yu seemed to be her sheer size. Yet Yu's relentless taunts had driven her to madness, leaving her no choice but to endure the onslaught.

Originally, she'd planned to devour the Scarlet King's body upon his death to restore her power. But if this kept up, she might not survive long enough to see that moment. Another few days of this, and Yu would leave nothing of her but scraps.

Apep regretted it deeply. She had assumed Yu, being the child of Rukkhadevata, would be fragile—more skilled in spiritual domains than in combat. Who would have guessed he could grab her tail and slam her over his shoulder?!

She'd lost count of how many times he'd severed her head. Despite retaliating with continuous bombardments, he was like an unkillable cockroach.

And why was she still fighting him? Beyond pride, it was greed.

In her original plan, devouring the Scarlet King would have restored her power. But now, she realized that Yu was an even better target. His strong body, his mastery over dendro energy, and his ability to absorb power made him far more tempting. She had a hunch—if she devoured Yu, she wouldn't just recover; she might become even stronger.

---

Despite fighting for so long, Yu showed no signs of exhaustion. He kept going, relentless and wild. His only complaint was how absurdly thick Apep's lifebar seemed. Still, he was used to fighting tanky opponents. This was just another grind to him.

Suddenly, Apep's massive form shifted into that of a voluptuous woman with long green hair. Her enchanting figure exuded a seductive allure, yet the dense dendro energy radiating from her body made it clear she was still dangerous.

"Giving up already? Good. You're smaller now, which makes you easier to fight."

Apep was on the verge of cursing aloud. At least offer me a way out! If you had just said a few words of mercy, I'd have surrendered right away! This lunatic…

She knew she couldn't win. Her enormous form consumed too much energy, and she couldn't sustain it for much longer. Transforming into this form was her last-ditch effort to endure a little longer. Should she really surrender to him?

After much internal struggle, Apep made her decision. For the sake of that deliciously tempting body of his, she would endure.

A striking figure clad in violet moved conspicuously through the crowd.

"Excuse me, where is your prince?" Ei asked Alhaitham, who seemed to be in charge.

She had gone to Liyue first, only to learn that Yu had returned to Sumeru to "inherit his family business." With lightning speed, she had crossed half of Teyvat in just over a day and arrived in Sumeru City, where she was told he had gone to the desert. Eventually, she found Alhaitham, who acted as Yu's personal secretary.

"Over there, where the commotion is loudest. The Overlord is… dealing with some family matters," Alhaitham replied to the unexpected visitor.

"Family matters? Who's involved?"

"The Overlord's mother disappeared long ago, but now… Well, let's just say the Scarlet King's subordinate refused to submit, so the Overlord is dealing with them."

---

Apep was about to lose her mind. This was worse than fighting Morax—at least Morax had shields. Yu had nothing but fists, kicks, and wooden constructs, yet he never stopped. Fighting him was disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.

Yu kicked Apep's voluptuous form into the sand. She lay there, showing no sign of getting back up. Her emerald eyes glimmered with a hint of submission.

Yu glanced at Apep. She wasn't wearing anything.

Not that it mattered—after this prolonged battle, he wasn't exactly dressed, either.

"O great king, please accept my surrender. I offer you everything I have, including myself."

Apep tried her best to make her voice sound as alluring as possible, hoping to earn some sympathy. Internally, she vowed that if given the chance in the future, she would devour him whole. For now, she had to endure.

Just then, Yu sensed a familiar presence. He turned around.

A striking figure dressed in violet appeared before him.

Yu looked down at himself…

Ei noticed too, realizing she had arrived at a very awkward moment. Her gaze shifted to the curvaceous woman lying nearby, entirely unclothed.

"It seems… I've come at a bad time. Sorry for interrupting your… business."
