Global Live Streaming: From Streamer to Divine God

Chapter 16: Chapter 16 Ready

In his wallet, he had 450 yuan, and in his bank account, he had 2100 yuan, but the rent was due soon. Subtracting the 800 yuan for rent and 200 yuan for utilities, that left him 1500 yuan for living expenses.

What could 1500 yuan do? How long could it last?

If this had been earlier, Li Xu would have taken a job as a ghostwriter or picked up a cheap custom writing gig at a small site. No matter what, securing a basic livelihood to tide over the initial months of a new book release was crucial. But of course, he couldn't do that now. This period was precious to him, and there was no room to waste.

So where would the money come from?

Naturally, Li Xu thought of the Spirit Live Streaming Room and those 981 windows...

But quickly, he dismissed the idea. Yes, he couldn't lose sight of the bigger picture for a small gain, couldn't take such needless risks.

Sitting on a treasure mountain yet still unable to make ends meet—that was his current situation. With no other options, he shook his head slightly and sighed deeply.

The back exit of the internet café opened into a narrow alley with no street lights, sparse foot traffic, and dim lighting.

Most of the small shops on either side had already closed. Plastic bags, rotten vegetables, discarded fruits, and bamboo skewers from barbecue and hot pot littered the ground. In this sweltering weather, many things had already begun to spoil, the smell was truly "sourly refreshing," especially to Li Xu at the moment.

The result of his enhancement wasn't all positive; there were some aspects he wasn't accustomed to, like now, his sense of smell being overly sensitive.

As he walked, Li Xu suddenly stopped. Two seconds later, two figures emerged from the shadows about ten meters ahead of him.

He looked back and saw two more dark figures blocking his way.

"The kid is quite sharp…" Fu Qiang, bare-chested with a shirt thrown over his shoulders, a tattoo of a snake rearing its head inked on his skin appeared menacing in the dim light. He dragged a steel pipe along the pitted cement ground, generating a continuous "ding ding dang dang" sound.

Li Xu didn't move, allowing the four men to encircle him.

"Kid, remember me?" the other three remained silent, looking menacing while Fu Qiang, with a cigarette between his fingers, poked Li Xu's chest and asked with a sneer.

Li Xu frowned and stepped back, "Who are you?"

"Damn, forgot?" Fu Qiang's eyes shifted, then he laughed, "No worries about forgetting, just don't forget the money you owe me! How about it, when will you return that two thousand yuan?"

"Whoosh~" A nearby shop pulled down its shutter, making the surroundings even darker.

Seeing this, Fu Qiang sneered triumphantly, turned around to find Li Xu not looking scared, then threateningly said, "What, forgot? Want a reminder?" and raising the steel pipe, he gently tapped it in his hand while giving Li Xu a chilling sneer.

"Oh~~" Li Xu feigned realization, "Is this what you're preparing for?"

Fu Qiang, seeing that he still wasn't yielding, raised the pipe and cursed, "I'll rob you…" but before he could finish, the pipe was gripped tightly by a hand as if clamped by iron tongs. Then a fierce pain hit his chest, a surge of force came, and with a scream, he was thrown backwards.

"Thud!" He flew back two meters, spitting out a mouthful of bloody, acidic saliva.

It happened too fast, the other three hadn't seen it clearly or had time to react. Fu Qiang, clutching his chest, felt as if he'd been hit by a bull head-on. He couldn't even think about getting up, as even breathing caused excruciating pain in his chest, leaving him incapable of speaking!

Li Xu held the stolen steel pipe, slightly surprised yet excited. His eyes flickered as he faced the remaining three, somewhat eager to try.

"All together, kill him!" Blondie was the first to recover, shouting as he swung his club, "Damn it..." and brutally smashed it down at Li Xu.

Li Xu dodged nimbly, letting the wooden club swing past, and without looking back, he swung the steel pipe backward!

"Ding!"

Sparks flew as an iron ruler was sent flying. The steel pipe continued its trajectory, striking an ambusher on the cheek, sending him staggering out like a drunk, blocking the fourth man's path, and even causing two of his teeth to scatter into the air...

In the blink of an eye, two were down. Little Blondie and the fourth, a fat man, were somewhat stunned while Li Xu was fully exhilarated. Amidst the groans and moans, he stepped forward and with a slap, spun Little Blondie around twice in place before he slumped to the ground, all strength gone.

The last remaining fat man, realizing the situation was dire, immediately drop his weapon and ran without a second thought.

But he had only taken a few steps when he heard a whooshing sound from behind, "Bang!" The flying steel pipe struck him, sending him spinning through the air...

Finally, Li Xu crouched before the terrified Fu Qiang, asking with a smile, "What were you saying just now?"

"Don't get cocky, I still have a hundred and eighty brothers..."

"Smack!" Li Xu slapped him again, causing Fu Qiang's mouth to fill with blood, then he smiled again and asked, "What were you saying just now?"

"You, you..." At this moment, Fu Qiang deeply regretted everything. He had thought he was dealing with a docile sheep, but it turned out to be a fierce wolf. Seeing Li Xu's hand ready to strike again, he hurriedly pleaded, "Bro, I give up, I give up. What do you want, just say it..."

"Smack!" Another slap left Fu Qiang dazed, his ears ringing, his vision a swirl of red, green, white, and purple colors.

As the four beaten men limped away at the end of the alley, Li Xu flicked away his cigarette butt, stuffed a thick wad of cash into his pocket, and whistled.

This "game" came at the perfect time, dispelling the last bit of tension and doubt in Li Xu's mind, filling him with fighting spirit. He murmured softly, "Bring it on, I'm ready!"
