Chapter 49: Traitor or Patriot

Riruru said, "Yup, these are strong stuff. What are you, 30?" Aoi replied, "Nah, 28." Riruru asked, "Why and how are you taking these meds?" Aoi answered, "Depression. Let me guess, tough being under Lucius and a bad relationship?" Anew added, "Yeah, isn't your boyfriend one of the three elites of Avalon?" Aoi replied, "Yeah, just nowadays, well, he's my ex now, and I guess we aren't in a relationship." Riruru said, "You kids these days... but still, as a senior, my advice is to basically change your knighthood as it isn't the best place for you."

Meanwhile, in the meeting of the captains, Licht whispered to Lucifer, "Based on what Lucius just said, I'd rate him 10 out of 10 as a knight, 0 in believing in his subordinates, and 0 in being a good leader." Alysa whispered to Lucifer, "Isn't he a bit extreme?" Lucifer whispered back, "Yeah, he really is an extremist, and that idiot is really just selling out his subordinates." Lucifer then said, "Based on everything I've heard and the reports submitted, I don't think this situation is as simple as it seems."

Xenon responded, "What the hell do you mean? Don't you see the clear evidence, or do you fail to accept the fact that your subordinates are traitors?" Lucifer said, "Or are you the one saying what you don't know? Let me explain—please sit down. Now, the only person who stated in their report was your elite, Zenon Elis. Based on other witnesses, they reported seeing a huge attack that caused the destruction of four ships, and then suddenly, all attacks stopped. Then the central ship left formation and split up, and no one knew where they went. The central ship clearly stated that they were innocent, yet we ourselves declared them traitors. That's our information until now."

Licht added, "I must agree. None of the information clearly states they left the fleet. Rather, it states that they disobeyed orders from Elis as she herself failed to do anything, and it was a simple cover-up for her mistakes." Xenon said, "What are you saying? My subordinate could never do anything like that!" Lucifer replied, "You sure have high faith in your subordinate, or is that simply because she is the heir to the Blong family, and that family has supported you quite a bit in your struggles to become a captain?" Licht said, "Well, our sources would support that theory."

Xenon snapped, "Don't be absurd! Just because you made up some story to protect your little traitors, you're trying to put the blame on my knighthood!" Lucifer said, "My traitors, you said?" As Lucifer looked at Xenon, his malice alone was enough to bring her to her knees. Xenon trembled and could only say, "I am sorry, Lord Lucifer, please forgive me." Licht said, "Lucifer, you really need to practice a bit more self-restraint." Lucifer replied, "Well, what can I do? This idiot over here was wasting my time and blaming my subordinates without any evidence."
