Chapter 154: The Force
Kyle was slowly bringing his world together, people he kept separate were now conscious of one another's existence despite not knowing the relationship he shared with them for certain.
In a few days, Jane became aware of Calista and Cassandra.
She didn't know what Kyle was doing with them but her innocent mind assumed she was the only one.
Why did she think this way? It was simple, that was her reality.
Jane had this problem where she gave people the benefit of the doubt despite the mounting evidence proving otherwise.
She did it with Clarence and now repeating that cycle with Kyle.
It was inconceivable that Kyle would do anything to hurt, a thought that was taboo to her.
But Kyle had to go see Cassandra, Jane was aware of this because Kyle informed her that she needed his help.
This left her in his house once again, all alone and bored.
Jane realised she didn't have much of a social life and the only friend she had was Ella.
But was that about to change? The doorbell rang and Jane didn't know if she should stay quiet or answer it.
She wasn't sure how Kyle would react but a sigh soon escaped her lips to calm herself down.
"Get it together!" Jane muttered under her breath before waking to the door and looking through the peephole.
"Kyle?" The voice called out behind the door, it was the voice of a woman.
Jane recoiled backwards but her pivoting heel hit the floor a little hard alerting the person that someone was indeed behind that door.
Jane took a deep breath, she understood that she had no choice now otherwise the lady would think that Kyle was being rude.
She wouldn't want to knowingly soil his reputation.
"U-Um, I'm sorry but Kyle isn't around," Jane blurred out like a frightened child.
"Oh, I didn't mean to intrude," The voice at the other end said, it was Aiysha.
The door slowly unlocked, and Aiysha realised that the woman before her wasn't the same one she had seen.
"No, it is fine! I-Is there something I can help you with?" Jane questioned, she was wearing one of Kyle's shirts, it was so big that it looked like a dress on her.
This told Aiysha that this lady wasn't a relative or anything of that sort.
Unlike the other lady that she encountered, this seemed timid yet polite or she wouldn't have opened the door in the first place.
"I came to give Kyle a progress report about the innovation," Aiysha said outright, Jane's eyes darted towards her chest and saw she was holding a document against them.
"She is so pretty!" Jane thought to herself and if these were the kind of women Kyle had access to, why did he even want her?
She couldn't help but feel insecure even though this woman had a wedding ring wrapped around her finger.
"But seeing as he isn't around, is it fine if I discuss it with you? Truth be told, I could use some help," Aiysha confessed.
Jane didn't know what to do in this situation. She could turn her away, but that risked leaving a bad impression, or she could accept the gesture.
If he was going to stay here then it wouldn't hurt to be friends with a few of the residents.
She had no idea who this woman was but risked it by inviting her in.
Aiysha looked relieved. Jones was originally meant to have this discussion with him, but his schedule had ramped up.
He was taking the restaurant so seriously even though there was no reason to as they would be set for life once this renovation was over.
It would be a hot site considering the rent remained the same for the first year, it was a steal.
Aiysha took in the feminine smell that lingered in the air, it had a soft yet gentle aroma.
"Is he polygamous?" Aiysha found herself wondering this but noticed that the house was clean.
The smell in the house implied that she had been here for a while.
"I didn't know Kyle had a girlfriend, not one as cute as you either," Aiysha said, wanting to know what kind of man he was.
Jane's face flushed red, if they weren't a thing, it was clear that Jane liked him with her reaction.
Her ocean-blue eyes looked to the ground, Aiysha helped herself to a seat and placed the document on the table.
"I cannot show you its content as the last thing I need is to make him angry," Aiysha shook her head.
"I think that is best. Ah!" Jane exclaimed out of the blue, startling Aiysha.
"I forgot to ask if you wanted anything to drink, " Jane looked eager to impress.
Explore new worlds at empire
Aisha couldn't hold her chuckle, this girl was different from the kind of person she thought Kyle would go for.
"D-Did I do something wrong?" Jane became self-conscious right away.
"No, no. I'm sorry. You're just a breath of fresh air," Aiysha confessed.
"And yes, I would like something to drink. Thank you…?" Aiysha asked, waiting for Jane to introduce herself.
"Jane, my name is Jane," Jane officially introduced herself.
"Thank you, Jane," Aiysha completed her previously interrupted statement.

Kyle went to Cassandra but she had company, Jessica to be exact because she needed to fill Kyle in on what was going on from a legal point of view.
However, Jessica didn't expect Kyle to look the way he did because which single attractive young man would be interested in an older woman with a child?
Who would want that kind of responsibility when there were millions without this burden?
Jessica expected to see a much older man with more of a fatherly presence.
But this was even better because it would appeal to the progressive side of the judge.
Kyle listened to everything in detail, Cassandra also included the way her soon-to-be ex-husband was greeting people there.
"Have you ladies considered the fact that he might know the Judge?" Kyle asked and the room went silent.
There was no doubt that her husband wasn't an impressive man but what was stopping this possibility?
Life had a way of establishing relationships with the most unlikely of sources.
In the same way, Jessica had misperceived the idea of Kyle, there was a good chance that this was the case here as well.
"You presented all the evidence but he focused on the narrative that would aid your husband in his case… Jessica might not want to say it because she fears it would make you anxious but that is most likely the case," Kyle pointed out.
Jessica was impressed by his deducting skills, this was something she entertained but there was no evidence to support this.
This was why she didn't see it fit to tell her client about this but Kyle had carelessly spilled it out.
She expected Cassandra to panic but she didn't.
"But with every problem, there is a solution…" Kyle said with a reassuring smile.
There was something about him that just put Cassandra at peace, she just knew in her guts that everything was going to be alright even though things were looking like they were about to take a turn for the worse.
"How are you going to prove that the judge is being influenced?" Jessica asked the important question.
"I won't but I know someone who can," Kyle said with a smile.

Priscilla was on one of her runs but Oliver had called in sick so she was alone.
She liked driving around in their new car, it made their work a lot easier.
It had more of a presence as well, it turned the heads of a few people because this monster was capable of doing things normal cars only dreamt about.
She was parked and enjoying a salad until her phone rang, it was a familiar number even though it wasn't saved.
"Hm…" Priscilla looked at it before picking it up, she waited for the person who called to speak first.
[[Hello officer Priscilla…]]
She instantly recognized the voice, it was no doubt Kyle's voice.
"Kyle? What can I help you with?" Priscilla asked, taking a sip of her smoothie.
[[I think I have a case you might be interested in…]]
Kyle already could tell from their interaction that she was the brain and Oliver, the brawn.
She was a lady who truly believed in justice and went the extra step to make sure it was served.
The just-concluded case of Clarence was proof of that and Kyle was about to play on that.
The donation he sent would have softened their perception of him and they would subconsciously want to repay him.
That was human nature and he was going to use to his advantage.
It shouldn't be hard to show that the judge accepted a bribe because Kyle had a plan on how to oust him.
The fact that this man was a prominent figure in society would make this somewhat high-profile even though the higher-ups were sure to try and sweep it under the rug.
