Chapter 11: Ch:11 furiously writing reseach papers
Orion hurried to history of magic and bareley was on time. Just as the bell sounded he came burst through the door.
He sat next to Neville and his brother.
"What did professor Snape want from you?" Mordred asked "the potion was perfect".
"Oh I kind of blackmailed him to help me publish my research papers" Orion said with a small smile "I also get private tutoring on thursdays and sundays just as he promised".
"Y....You b..b...blackmailed him?" Neville just asked with shocked eyes.
"Yeah after all I don't want him to steal my credit" Orion said.
"Hahaha you are just mad. Even the great me wouldn't dare to provoke Snape, that guy is really scary" Mordred said.
That moment professor Binns came floated through a door on the side of the classroom and began the lecture.
Orion could bareley last through the introduction of professor binns until he took out his book on history and began to read. That way his time is invested much more efficiently. He also planned to do the same during professor Quirells class.
The class soon drifted into quiet snoring and occasional yawing for those that managed to stay awake with the monotone voice of binns in the background.
The class was soon over and Orion had to wake up Neville and Mordred because they were soundly sleeping.
"Alright guys, wake up. Your beauty sleep is over" he said amused while shaking them.
"Did you need to wake me up now? I was just about to eat a giant can of delicious ice cream" Mordred protested sarcastically.
Orion just looked at him.
"Alright, fine" Mordred said and woke up Neville next to him.
"We have lunch break now right? Comme on let's go...I'm starving" Mordred said and marched ahead out of the classroom.
Orion this time didn't sit with them on the Gryffindor table. Instead he sat down on the end o the table and quickly ate his meal. He was suprised that a blonde girl in Slytherin robes approached him and sat down opposite to him.
"Nice to meet you Miss Greengrass. What do I owe the pleasure?" Orion stopped his eating and asked.
"You know me?" she asked suprised.
"Well you are from a very well known family aren't you?" Orion just replied and waited for her to continue.
"Your potion...this Auroras essence...does it really work against dark curses?" she asked not being able to hide her interrest.
"Well in most cases yes. It also depends on the quality of the ingredients and the purity of the potion. But if you are trying to cure your sister with this potion then I am sorry. It won't work" Orion said boldly.
This time Daphne just stared at him in shock. The Illness Astoria suffers from was a well kept secret within the Greengrass family. She narrowed her eyes and asked in a dangerous low voice"how do you know of this information?"
"I know a lot of things I shouldn't know" Orion just replied uncaring "but I can help you...for the right price of course".
"You are able to save my sister? Why should I trust you?" Daphne just asked skeptically.
"I can give you information. As I said, I know a lot of things I shouldn't know. I also have information of the maledictus curse your sister suffers from" Orion said and continued eating.
"How much do you want?" Daphne just asked.
Orion just burst out laughing. "Who said anything about money?" he just asked amused.
At this point Daphne was getting annoyed. This guy was playing with her.
"Then what do you want?" she asked.
Orion pointed at her with his fork and said "if you really manage to cure your sister with the information I gave you, I want a favour. A favour from your father"
Daphne just stared at him like he was crazy.
"I can't make this decision on my own" Daphne said.
"Then ask whoever can make this decision" Orion said and stood up.
He then went out of the great hall on his way to the room of requirements.
It was more than clear that Cyrus Greengrass wouldn't trust him with whatever potion he would have to give Astoria.
So in order to make his information more valuable and add credibility he needed fame...fast.
So he entered the room of requirements and started writing ln his reseach papers. He followed the examples of other reseach papers he saw from the potions guild community and wrote his own with countless experiments and other already known potions. He then also added a complex part about the properties of the ingredients and the reaction they have to each other. It was really complex to explain this reaction but in the end he finished his essay.
Casting a quick tempus to look at the time Orion cursed and raced out of the room with the stack of papers inside his hand.
He only had 5 minutes to run to the defense against the dark arts classroom.
Panting he bareley reached the classroom in time and quickly sat down.
Under the curious gazes of most students he placed the big stack of papers on his desk and sorted them. He then carefully packed them up inside his leather bag. Just as he was finished Quirell burst through the doors and began his lecture. The lecture wouldn't be half bad if you could understand this guy through all his stuttering but as expected his time was absolutely wasted here. Not to mention the intense stench of garlic that slowly filled the room.
Orion just rolled his eyes and began writing on another reseach paper about another potion named mind curing potion.
Orion choose this potion because he wanted to help Neville and if possible gain the political backing of Augusta Longbottom.
If his deal with Cyrus Greengrass is also succesfully he will have two of the most influence in Britain.
He planned to use their help to free Sirius Black legally.
If his plans work out he will have Sirius freed before the start of the second year.
He unfortunately couldn't finish his essay before the class ended.
Thus he got up and walked to the Slytherin common room where he sat down in a quiet corner and continued writing.
He finished when it was already dark. Explaining the human mind was incredibly more complicated than explaining the effects of dark magic or healing effects.
But he was statisfied with his work for today and went back inside his room to sleep. He was already too late for dinner anyways. So he just practiced his Occlumency for 2 more hours and then went to sleep.
