Chapter 62: Chapter -62 Please someone save us.
Chapter -62.
As Lester finished his mission and the ruckus continued, he rhythmically tapped on the key in his hand.
Meanwhile, far away in Azkaban, Carlson shared a knowing look with the two Aurors beside him.
"Did Lester truly break into the Ministry?" Carlson's gaze was fixed on a key lying on the ground, sending out signals in a steady cadence, his expression one of disbelief.
He understood this was the predetermined sign; upon receiving it, it meant the Ministry of Magic had been breached, and Carlson could officially enter the fray.
Without hesitation, he snatched up the trembling key and infused it with his magical energy.
Just as expected, Carlson felt a darkness engulf him, and moments later, he found himself transported to the Ministry of Magic, a thousand miles away.
"Goodness, is this truly the Ministry?" he gasped at the hellish panorama before him upon arrival.
Within the vast halls, skirmishes raged among a throng of wizards, while the lower floors had been decimated, now a raging inferno.
After surveying the chaos, Carlson quickly spotted Lester, who stood out like a beacon.
At that moment, Lester, eyes fierce, surveyed the tumult below as if he were a god surveying his domain.
Lester saw Carlson suddenly appear, exchanging an imperceptible glance with him.
In reality, Lester was far from reckless; he recognized that his ability to lead the prisoners in chaos at the Ministry hinged on an unexpected ambush aided by the Dementors, which had caught the pure-blood officials unprepared.
Furthermore, given that the Ministry was underground and centrally located in London, the pure-bloods hesitated to act, allowing him to exploit the geography to summon flames and assert control over the pure-blood wizards present.
Lester acknowledged that his victory stemmed from a stroke of luck—the flames had already been ignited while the pure-bloods had been caught off-guard, permitting his improbable success.
Had those officials taken adequate precautions and countered the flames the moment he unleashed them, they would have extinguished his flames before they could spread, and he certainly wouldn't have been able to best the formidable Bernard.
Thus, Lester recognized that sustaining his momentum necessitated a thoughtful plan; the magical world harbored far too many powerful figures. He needed to clear his name—not just for his sake but also for his loyal group of prisoners.
After all, fading away and altering his appearance would make it easy to escape blame for the Ministry's burning.
But he couldn't simply abandon the subordinates he had worked so hard to gather; leaving abruptly meant surrendering the stronghold he had established in Azkaban.
Therefore, he had previously coordinated with Carlson to stage a spectacular performance together.
A show designed to seize control of Azkaban while maintaining the allegiance of the prisoners.
Feigning ignorance of Carlson's sudden appearance in the hall, Lester waved his hand, conjuring a wall of fire that separated the prisoners still engaged in scrapping from the pure-blood officials.
With another motion, fiery walls materialized, encasing all the pure-blood officials and Aurors within, along with those tatters of wizards who had been robbed earlier.
"What do you aim to do?" Minister Smith barked, panic-stricken at the sudden fiery containment.
While enduring blows from the prisoners without retaliation earlier, he had presumed that Arlis would remain rational and refrain from killing all present.
However, witnessing Arlis now rigged to unleash infernos around them, it was evident that he intended to leave no witnesses!

Smith wasn't alone in his panic; Lucius Malfoy, head of his esteemed family, stood in confusion before the encircling flames.
Shouldn't someone of his caliber, a potent pureblood, be among those Arlis aimed to recruit? Why did it seem he was about to meet his demise instead?
Others shared the same doubts, and some prisoners felt even more mystified.
When Lester granted them permission to beat the pure-bloods, they assumed it was a sign he intended to spare their lives, thus allowing them to vent their frustrations.
Yet now that the assault was over, they hoped Lester might say a few calming words to bridge the gap and seek some form of reconciliation.
Why did it now appear as though he truly intended to eliminate them all? Even Voldemort had never dared to initiate such wholesale slaughter!
The atmosphere grew thick with impending death, quelling any voice willing to speak.

"You pure-blood scum deserve to perish!"
Fixing his gaze on Lucius, Lester's voice carried an edge of fury reminiscent of a desperate outlaw.
The fearsome fire dragon that bore him ascended, baring its sharp fangs to the terrified bystanders below, its mouth swirling with an ominous inferno.
"Die!"
At last, the ferocious dragon unleashed a torrent of flames, surging towards the pure-bloods in the hall.
Facing the hellish inferno, several pure-bloods shielded their eyes, resigned to their fate of being burned alive.
Lucius's face drained of color; he had never anticipated that a mere visit to the Ministry would lead him to confront an unhinged individual like Arlis.
While others may merely chant slogans of slaughtering pure-bloods and aim to win over Muggle wizards, this man was genuinely committing murder!
Minister Smith's heart surged with despair; he had been ruling well as a minister—but due to his subordinates' incompetence, he had attracted a globally infamous assassin in Arlis, who indiscriminately punished all—this was a matter of life and death!
"Is there anyone out there who can come to my rescue?!"
Other high-ranking officials within the Ministry, including members of the Wizengamot, stood pallid, yearning for a powerful ally loyal to the Ministry to emerge and save the doomed.
And at that critical moment, Carlson, who had been anticipating, sprang into action!
