Chapter 53: A Monster
Do they truly believe they have the right to judge me? To label me a monster, a villain, for seeking what is mine by birthright? All I ever wanted was what they took from me—a family, a future, a chance. A second chance to rewrite the ending of a story that never should have been written in the first place.
I remember the day they were taken. The day my world shattered, leaving me to pick up the pieces alone. Do they know what that's like? To feel the world collapse around you and be helpless to stop it? No, they never will. They never understood what it was like to stand in the ruins of your own life and scream for something—anything—to bring them back. They wouldn't let me… no, they couldn't let me. They told me it was wrong, that it was unnatural. But what is life if not a constant battle against the natural order? Who says I cannot defy it? Who says I must bow to the laws of the world that took everything from me?
They took my family, my future—they left me to rot. In their eyes, I see nothing but mockery. They look at me with disdain. The same people who have no idea how far I've gone, how much I've sacrificed, to do what they never dared—to take control of my own fate. They tell me I am evil. They say I should let them rest. But how can I? How can I let them go when I can feel them? When I can hear them, calling out to me from the shadows, asking me to bring them back?
They don't understand, do they? They think I'm doing this out of greed or madness. But no, this is purpose. This is my destiny, the only path that makes sense in this broken, chaotic world. I will not be weak again. I will never be powerless. I will do what I must to bring them back, to set things right.
I will raise the dead. I will command the very forces of life and death. They will see. They will all see. They will regret the day they ever crossed me. But it's not too late. Not yet. I can still make them understand. I'll build an empire, a kingdom of death, where no one is ever left alone, abandoned, or forgotten. A world where no one will ever feel this pain again.
You can call me cruel. You can call me mad. But when my family stands before me once more—when I make them whole again—you'll see. I'm not the villain here. I'm the only one who dares to do what's necessary. I'm the savior. And they… they are the ones who are blind.
