Heartstrings And Espionages

Chapter 84: Sole Decision

".....Your Grandfather, Chakan Chirapaisarnsakul, is in hospital now. His health is in worse condition. He's fighting against the spirit to live and… as his daughter-in-law, I need to stay when he's in an ordeal. That's my… responsibility. If your father were here, he would surely know how to deal with such situations. I…" She instantly halted when I glared at her.

"We're no longer Chirapaisarnsakul's, Mom. You don't have to concern 'bout those who were never in the helping hand for once. And this isn't something good topic to argue with your husband. I want you to pack your things and leave for home. I hope you understand, Mom."

Later I glanced at Dad and he nodded. He went close to my Mom and tried to round his arms around her shoulders but she shoved him away. With a death stare, she bounced with incessive.

"Moon! If you aren't ready to take responsibility then stay where you are. As your parent, I know what is right and wrong. You better do what I say or leave with Ren. There isn't any other option for you both!" She's absolutely out of her senses. Did she meet Chakan? How did she even get to know about his worse condition? Is that Chakan or Prasong? Or else… Zachary? I have my eyes on these three. Rather than these, there's no one who knows what my Mom gets triggered to so simply. Shh! My Mom… I doubt she was brainwashed…

I can't stand arguing with her. She isn't in a state to listen to anyone. Needed to be dealt quietly with patience. "Mom, I can understand your concern but you aren't in a state to call it a responsibility. They don't relate us to themselves. Then, why do you care about him? What is he to us more than an abandoned family member? Just for him, you were rooting to stand against your self family members. Does it even make any sense?"

"You don't have any right to point your fingers over him, Moon! They didn't abandon us. It's all your father's sole decision! He himself chased the exterior world to escape the reality of his interior world. He simply doesn't wanna become a cruel ruler like his father yet his father himself doesn't reject being a harsh and cruel ruler but he never desired his kids to play the same role as his. Likewise, your father failed to understand your grandfather's real intentions. Your Grandfather was good from the start, it's your Dad who put up a whole mess of misunderstanding between us and my father-in-law! All because of my expired husband!"

I held my fist in a ball and glared at my Mom. All her words clashing out my skin in blood-tears. All I could feel was aimless pain. Being unable to defend myself and my father in front of the one I call "my world"

"What did you say? Is it all my biological father's fault? Huh!" I moved forward clenching my vengeance but I was abruptly held back. Glanced at the large hand, holding my fist. Then, at the face, refusing me to not do what my thought comes on.

"Dad? Let me off. She lost her mind." I said, putting his hand away from mine yet he held my arm and pulled closer to his breath, blowing on my nose. Warm…

"I said no, Moon." Puzzled, I looked at him but he responded with fierce eyes. Ha…? He seems to be at his wife's side. The hell! "Huh? Taking your wife's side now?"

"I'm on my side, Moon. Remember, standing against your Mom is like standing against your existence. Don't forget that she's the reason for your existence. No matter how much she hurts you - you aren't supposed to stand against her. She has the right to rule on you but she never did 'cause she knows how it feels to be taken off your freedom. As a mother, she can never hurt you. The same should be implemented on you. No matter how much you hurt her or hide from her - she knows everything about you yet never said a word to You. Then, how do you think you can go against your Mom?"

Huh? Luggage in one hand, standing still being speechless. It was the only thing I could experience between the whole tension. The temperature feels so hot – when I matched my eyes with my Mom's I noticed her gaze glued on my Dad. I glanced and bounced in horror when I found him glaring at me. What in the world is happening to me today?

"Lily." A base voice echoed in the room breaking the unwelcomed silence. Me and Mom looked at him meaninglessly when his gaze only wandered on my Mom's.

"A-Ah! Yes, Honey?" My Mom stammered and I just stood there like a statue. "Pack up my luggage – I'm leaving with Moon." He stated, leaving me wholly shaken. What a freak!

"Dad?" I moved to hold his hand but he suddenly held mine before I could and said, "Enough of this, Moon. Let's leave your Mom to her will." And tried to drag me away from the mess my Mom intentionally walked into. Seeing her stand there with no hope on her shoulders, dropped my pithiness. I looked at my Dad, held his wrist when she suddenly halted looking at me trying to remove his hand away from mine.

"Moon. Don't tell me that –" He stopped when I wholly removed his hand from mine and stepped back with a pale look wandering on his arms. "I can't leave her alone again, Dad. I eventually have the responsibility of taking care of her behalf of my biological Dad."

He stood there still and quiet. I wasn't able to look into any of their eyes. Incapable, I held my luggage and stood pale in front of my parents – maintaining their distances. I gulped, gathering courage to ask for an excuse but he instantly moved aside when I walked in.

"After all…," I immediately turned around when he uttered and stopped. Looked into my soul and continued, "After all, I'm not your biological Dad. I should've known that I've some certain limits that I wasn't supposed to cross. I'm sorry, Moon and Lily. I overdid it this time. I'll take my leave… now." No… No! This isn't what I expected!

He left me and My Mom in awe but she didn't move an inch to reach him instead let him part the way. The cute relationship between them… colliding in parts. Neither I was able to move myself to chase behind him – the shock was too extreme to think over. But!

I need to stop him! "Dad!" I just pushed my legs without any second thought but before I could reach him, he closed the door on my face. Left me in a whole sum of awe. All at that moment I could feel fierce, clashing in my veins. Bangged his door until my hand turned bloody red yet he only opened when he was done packing up.

"Dad, stop. This isn't what you were supposed to assume." He abruptly shoved my hand away and yelped, "Then what else do you want me to assume, Moon? Assume that I'm the one wrong here and just nod my head for your Mom's timid decisions! Tell me! Tell me, what I was supposed to assume further?!"

"Dad, I know that all this mess is just getting on to your nerves but leaving without a word and misunderstanding will just lead to apart. I can't see another clash in my family, Dad. You were the most understandable person, what happened to you now? Why couldn't you get to the situation but get yourself worse into it?" I held his hand again hoping he would not shove it another time.

He glanced at my hand, holding onto his and sighed sharply. "I don't know what's wrong with me, Moon? I'm just puzzled and tired." I walked closer to him and patted his head gently. "Take rest, Dad. There's plenty of time to discuss this matter any other time. Don't stress yourself into it. It'll only worsen your condition."

He just nodded and I carried him to his room. Closed the door, stood against the door thinking how I just ended up into their argument. Sigh…. Such a weary day.

"Mom. Are you gonna stand there for the rest of your life or go to your room?" She didn't give me any response but at least walked away to her room. I just gazed at her while she was wearing a gloomy face. I know… I'm hopeless at this point. Being an elder daughter I wasn't even able to stop my parents quarrel. Sick! Holy sickness!
