LIGHTNOVELWORLD Chapter 21: Watching
Few hours has passed and it was quite a journey from the bandits hideout. Finally they have reached a city called "Besk city". The city wasn't quite big but it's comparable to illusium city. The sun is setting and it's getting dark.
"It's getting dark, let's look for an inn to sleep for the night". Jacob said. They didn't look far before they found an inn. The name 'winged snake inn' was written at the door post. The inn was a medium sized cabin and it seems to be owned by a guild bearing the same name.
Back at home when Iode used to work with his father, selling armouries and weaponry, a lot of guild members do come and buy stuffs from them quite well. In illusium city, there are two main guilds, one's a mage guild known as 'Dark ball guild' and the other is more like a mercenary guild called 'Terra guild' mostly filled with nationalities other than Wizards.
All four of them entered the Inn. In the reception, there were many people which one can obviously see, is packed with the members of the guild owning the Inn.
Jacob went towards the receptionist, which was a man dressed in all black, he's also a member of the said guild.
"Please we need two rooms for the four of us, medium sized ones". Jacob asked the receptionist.
The receptionist looked at Jacob and the three men who followed him, he knew that they were travelers and need a place to rest for the night.
"That will be 2 silver coins for each rooms". The receptionist answered. Jacob was about to pay as the price is not too far fetched from other inn's he visited across the kingdom.
"What a rip off, isn't it 1 silver coin for medium sized rooms, why are you charging us 2 for each room". Iode questioned the receptionist.
The receptionist looked at the young man who just spoke that wants to stop his business flow. "Young Man, in Besk city that's the price inn's, no pricing leave it or take it".
"Shh, it's it an unspoken rule that guilds that owns an Inn, charge less than privately owned owned inns ". Iode said this as he showed the receptionist a mark on his wrist.
The receptionist eyes widens seeing this.
"Should we go see the one in charge of the inn or go somewhere else". Iode continued.
The receptionist left eye twitched for a moment, as he starts to give iode a bad look for ruining his extra income. He tried to hide the fact that he was angry at Iode but it still showed.
"Who is this person? Is he in a guild? Where did he get that mark from? it's unlikely for a guild member to go on a solo work with a brigade officer and non adventurers, even he doesn't look like an adventurer, how does he know about that unspoken rule about guilds? What a bomber". The receptionist thought.
"Urgh, fine take the keys, go upstairs and to your left those are your rooms". The receptionist said passive aggressively.
They collected the keys and went upstairs
"Iode, right? How do you know about that, have you joined a guild back at home? Jacob asked.
Both Ian and Kyle thought of this and thought this is probably the way he got such a powerful aura around him.
"Nah, my dad sells weaponry and armoury to guilds and i do visit guilds bases with my dad very often so i know their norms, general do's and don't of guilds". Iode replied.
"Huh, here i was thinking this guy was naïve, but i still don't believe you, you clearly showed him something and know more than you look, I keep an eye on you, I'll be watching". Kyle said in his mind
