Chapter 3: fragile teacher
"Alex, wake up; your tutor is waiting," the sound of his mother's voice surged through his ears.
He woke up and said to himself, "Ah, my head still hurts; I don't know when I will be able to get used to it." After cleaning himself, he headed to the training ground.
From the balcony, his mother gave him a gentle smile, although he knew she was worried about him.
As he arrived at the training ground, he saw a frail, first-rate warrior - or rather, an ordinary human being without cultivation.
Alex couldn't resist laughing at the sight. The knight, Lars, looked at him in an annoyed manner, though he couldn't tell him to stop laughing because of his status.
"Second prince, my name is Lars; from today, I will teach you swordsmanship and magic control. From today, I will be your teacher for the next three months," the knight said.
Alex knew that the frail knight would not be able to teach him anything, but still, he said, "Yes, ordinary knight, teach me your sword, Lars." Lars started teaching Alex a sword technique, or in Alex's eyes, it was something similar to a whip technique used in the circus to command animals.
Although Lars described that technique as a great sword sense of the Aldir clan, Alex couldn't stop laughing while watching it; in comparison, it was nothing - even a third-rate technique of Murim's lower realm was better.
Two steps further, now two steps back; hold your sword straight, push with force, blah blah blah. After an hour of his circus play, he said to copy his technique.
Out of boredom, Alex copied his technique and tried to create something new with it; he did the same circus dance gently. Two steps further, two steps back; hold the sword straight, put force on the sword - oh my god.
Lars saw him with shocked eyes and asked him, "How can you, I mean, second prince, who taught you this technique?" He was shocked to see how a mere twelve-year-old kid could perform a technique par with an ordinary knight. He shouted, "You are a prodigy, second prince - hundred times!" and left for the royal hall.
Alex's mother, watching from the balcony, was worried about seeing the knight leave early. She left the balcony and came down to the training hall, asking Alex, "What happened, Alex? Why did Sir Knight leave?"
He knew if he told the truth - that his new teacher considered him a prodigy - she would faint, so he decided not to tell anything. "Mother, he shouted prodigy and left for the royal hall," he said.
She didn't understand, nor did he explain in detail.
... Lars, flustered, asked the guard knights to let him go into the royal hall. The knights stopped him - it was obvious for an ordinary knight - but still, he insisted and pushed them and went inside the hall.
As he entered the hall, the eyes of the general and all warlords were on him; the aura of the general suffocated him, and he couldn't speak. Though General Viscal saw him with eyes of awe and shame, General Viscal was an honorary knight who respected his party members as same as his family, so he decided to apologize for Lars's position.
"My Majesty, please forgive the foolishness of my knight," he said.
The King didn't mind; "Let him speak, General Viscal." Lars was finely able to speak; his voice jittered.
"Your Majesty, the second prince is a prodigy; he mastered the Aldir clan technique after seeing it only once, sir. Not only this, but he even created a technique with it." After hearing Lars, most of the warlords trusted Lars, because everyone knew in the royal hall that General Viscal's knight would never lie. But some insisted that he was lying.
Prime Minister Orcas laughed and chuckled at Lars. "He is probably drunk, my Majesty; please give orders to execute this foolish man."
Although the king saw Prime Minister Orcas with a murderous aura, he forced all warlords, General Viscal, deputy chancellor, and their heads to bow. They were not bowing their heads because of the royal position; it was simply the fear of losing their heads. Prime Minister Orcas was a fatso, so he couldn't kneel completely, but when he saw the king angry, he couldn't help himself from kneeling.
He forcefully thrust his stomach. "He said in an apprehensive tone, 'I just wanted to confirm that he was not lying, my majesty,' although, in his mind, he was making a murder scheme to kill the second prince. 'My majesty, pls let me give you an idea; why don't we test the second prince? Why don't we arrange a dual that will confirm everything,
Also, as an apology, I will personally arrange a two-star knight for a duel. The King knew Prime Minister Orcas's nature, but because he was the brother of his first wife, also he wanted to believe Lars that his second son had improved.
"As you wish, but in future, never order me again, or I will execute you with my own hands." Lars knew what he saw was true, but still, for a kid, a two-star Knight was a big deal; on the other hand, he was suggesting a duel, which was completely a method to kill.
"Sir Prime Minister, a two-star Knight is still too much for the second prince, please." As Lars was completing his sentence, Orcas interrupted in a sly tone, "My dear knight, you were the one who told us that the second prince is a prodigy, so we have the right to confirm its truth or not, am I right, my dear ordinary knight?"
Lars knew they were not words of kindness; instead, it was a complete threat - if he interrupted again, he would die. Still, he insisted, "Sir, please, then as a teacher of the second prince, I ask for one month for a duel." Before Orcas could say anything, the King said, "Do as you wish, but if he doesn't show anything, then I will exile you from this kingdom.
" Lars trembled in fear after hearing the King's order; still, he knew he couldn't do anything. He was the one who sickled his leg. "Yes, my Majesty, as you wish."
….. Today, Alex woke up early in the morning; his mother and head maid were in shock, Although he headed to the training hall, he saw Lars sitting on the stool with a face of disappointment and worry.
"Good morning, second prince; I wanted to tell you something - first, you need to promise you will not kill me," Alex promised him, and Lars told him everything that happened, and what he did.
Fang Cheon was a little angry, so he spanked his ass; but also, he saw an opportunity to demean the first bully of this kid, Alex, and an opportunity to put some muscles on his new body.
He started training daily in the morning; although he couldn't put an ounce of muscle with the normal methods, so he tried to gather his qi, and it was a success. Even though he didn't know why, still, something he understood - that the mana of this world is forty-three per cent similar to the qi of Murim, and he is a genius, the only heavenly demon…
He trained the method of a third-rate clan, because the heaven body art he created, this body could not handle it. Alex still progressed a little with third-rate art, Moon Body; it was the art created by the Moon Clan, they were a little bit famous in the lower realm of Murim.
10th day, Lars approached Alex, "Second prince, I think I did wrong; it is my fault, please forfeit. I will be happy; it is not a big deal for an orphan like me to be exiled from the kingdom, so please forfeit." Alex was calm; he heard Lars but ignored him completely.
Lars was also a persistent guy; he repeated the same words.
"Oh, so you are really thinking, Mr. ordinary Knight, that I am fighting for your sake?" Lars whispered, "Yes, my prince."
"No, you fu_king idiot, I have a suggestion for you - never again load this orphan b_lsshit in front of me, or I will beat your a_s."
For Lars, it wasn't shocking anymore to be spanked by a 12-year-old kid, or how he spoke differently. "As you wish, my prince.
" There were only 15 days left in the duel, from Lars's information. Alex understood the power level of the second-star knight, but still, in his mind, he knew if Prime Minister Orcas was the person how kid mentioned in his diary, then he would try to kill him, and he would choose at least a 5-star knight or an assassin to murder him.
Finally, The day has come.
