Chapter 8: Chapter 7
Chapter 7
Writer: Thank you for reading 'He's special To Me'
Hae Jin: You ignored me in the previous chapter!
Writer: Chapter 7 begins.
Hae Jin: Don't ignore me!
Writer: Oh, right, I have to say this. In a few days from now, it will be exactly 6 years since Hae Jin's death. He just ignored the fact that it's a few days before it will truly be 6 years before his death.
Hae Jin: Right, just like how you are ignoring me now.
Writer: Sigh. You're unbelievable.
Hae Jin: So are you.
Writer: Leave now, I have to write.
Hae Jin: Like I care. Just listen to me. I want to talk to someone.
Writer: Find someone else. I'm busy.
Hae Jin: Like I care. Just listen, will you?
Writer: No! I'm busy.
Hae Jin: it will only take a few seconds.
Writer: No.
Hae Jin: A second.
Writer: No
Hae Jin: A minute.
Writer: No, and stop increasing it.
Hae Jin: An hour.
Writer: Hell no! You know what, I'll just kick you out.
Hae Jin: You dare not.
Writer: That's it, I'm leaving.
Hae Jin: No! Hold on!
Writer: Goodbye Hae Jin.
Hae Jin: Wait.
Writer: What?!
Hae Jin: Did we talk before the story began?
Writer:............
Hae Jin: I think we did.
Writer: Bye.
Hae Jin: No! Wait! Don't leave! I think we did! Wait!
***********
"Listen to me Hae Jin" And the atmosphere turned serious again. Like Hae Jin wanted. For some reason, before, he felt excited at the thought of Tae Jin growing up to be a fine, good looking young man.
It was embarrassing as hell! So he felt relieved when Sung-Yoon changed the subject.
What he felt.......
Wasn't right! Yes, it wasn't! Tae Jin was only a kid! He could even be his father for god sake!!!
"Hae Jin?" Hae Jin snapped out of his embarrassing thought, looking at Sung-Yoon with a questioning look.
Realizing Hae Jin heard none of what she said, Sung-Yoon sighed tiredly and then repeated what she said, "I said, we ghosts can't have any feelings for humans"
"But what about our families and friends?" Right, what about their families and friends? Can't they (Ghosts) worry about them? Take care of them? Can't they guide them?
"You don't understand. You will find out yourself. In any case, as ghosts, the only thing you should worry about besides your families and friends is yourself. No one else. You can't develop feelings for humans"
"Because we live in different worlds?" Hae Jin asked, sounding sad.
Sung-Yoon was definitely talking about Tae Jin here. Hae Jin was sure she had noticed he wanted to form a bond with the kid. As a friend that was.
He didn't know for how long he would stay in this world but at least, he would experience being alive, being human with Tae Jin in his life.
This was why he was hesitant to let the kid go. And also didn't reveal his true identity as a ghost to him, thinking he might lose him.
"Yes" Sung-Yoon replied, looking at Hae Jin with a sympathetic look on her face, feeling bad for Hae Jin who stared up at the ceiling with a sad expression on his face.
"Because we live in different worlds, because sooner or later, we will have to leave. Is better not to form a strong connection with anyone as it will only lead to hurting you both"
"I understand," Hae Jin replied, sounding so dejected.
He really liked the kid already despite his big mouth always running.
"Sorry, you don't have to feel anything towards Tae Jin. Don't feel sorry towards him because as a special one, he is already destined to be used. You're not doing a bad thing. You can just touch him or let him touch you and if he really is your special one, just stay away from him and find him when he's grown up. Then you can tell him all about yourself and him being your special one. He will have no choice but to help you" okay the last sentence didn't sound good. She sounded like a villain in some kind of a historical movie.
Using people just wasn't her thing but she had to make it clear to Hae Jin. He needed to accept this fact.
"I can't Sung-Yoon" And did she forget he was trapped in this house? It wasn't possible to step out and find him when he was all grown up.
"What?!!" Sung-Yoon exclaimed in shock.
"And what if he finds out about me being a ghost, being my special one and runs away. He might choose not to help me"
"You really are the definition of negativity. What's with the 'What If' thing?!"
"I don't want Tae Jin to find out I’m a ghost or what he is to me. I don't want to use him. I will find a way for myself. I will find a way to remember my past life, settle my business here (That's if he even had one) and then if I really crossover, glory be to God, if I don't, I'll just wait until is my time"
Wow, she didn't know what to say to that. Hae Jin really was......... too kindhearted and too stubborn for his own good.
"You have made your decision?" Hae Jin hummed, nodding in reply.
"You.......do you have feelings for the kid?"
"What do you think I am?! A pervert?!! He's just a kid!!!"
"I didn't say anything. You could be waiting for him to grow up for all I know"
"He could be my child!"
"But he's not"
"Stop your nonsense Sung-Yoon. I only think of him as my first friend"
"And what am I?" Sung-Yoon asked annoyingly. Here she was thinking she was Hae Jin's first friend, however, he has already made his decision. Then, what was she to him?
"My first ghost friend," Hae Jin replied with a smile.
First ghost friend? The ghost wasn't important. She’ll remove it and then, it will be 'First Friend'. Yeah, that sounded much better.
Satisfied with her choice, Sung-Yoon smiled happily. "So, are you sure Tae Jin is your friend"
Hae Jin hummed in reply with a smile. "He is. He's my first human friend. I repeat again, first human friend"
"I'm not convince"
"You can think whatever you want"
He would never use Tae Jin. The first human who could see him, hear him. The first human, with whom he could feel human again. He would never lose him or use him. Even if it would cost him never finding out his past, it was okay.
At least, he could feel like a human again.
