Hex Spectre

"Everyone, cover yourselves!"

Mike is currently fighting inside the Hex. The raid is currently led by a powerful B-rank hunter named Antonio Mendoza. He awakened with the class "Martial Artist" and was recruited by the Minokawa guild, one of the six great guild.

(Minokawa= a mythical dragon-like bird that once threatened to devour the Sun and Moon but was defeated by the Gods)

Unlike the failed Black Hex conquest of the Sarimbal Guild, Mike could see that this one would be successful. However, he also kept in his mind that they are only raiding an A-rank Hex that's why things are much easier.

Prior deciding to participate in the raid, Mike promised that he would stay anonymous since he is also aware that he was reported as dead and the Sarimbal guild is conducting an investigation to confirm his demise.

"They want to capture me, so that their dirty secret would not be exposed to the public."

However, a system announcement caught his attention.

*Urgent Quest! The system detected a powerful presence on one of the Hexes in the area!*

Mike opened the hyperlink in the phrase, Urgent Quest.

*Urgent Quest- Obtain the Eye of Mayari!

Quest Conditions- One of the dungeons in the area houses the Eye of Mayari, the goddess of the Moon. Obtain it, and receive a high-rank skill!"

Quest Failure Penalty- Death

"A high-rank skill, huh? and what's with this penalty? Surely, the system want me to be kept alive!"

He checked the quest website for hunters. At first, he couldn't spot any of it. Fortunately, at the last minute, he was able to find a last-ditch request from the Minokawa guild to fill up one of the missing slots for the hunting party. he decided to take up a new name-- Jacey Silvenna and wore a clothing that hides his whole body. Before going to the place, he also bought an intermediate-class magic book and absorbed the spells that was written in it using the system.

"I don't have money anymore, I need to work hard in this raid."

"What's your rank?," the party leader by the name of Antonio asked.

"It's G-rank," Mike, whose faces is covered by a black mask, answered.

"Hmm..," the party leader thought for a minute to weigh his decision carefully, "Can you handle yourself? I mean, no offense, but being a G-rank, I'm sure that you would understand me for thinking that you're gonna be a baggage?"

"I do, but I promise, you won't regret hiring me!"

"Excellent, then!," they shook hands.

Inside the Hex..

Now that they are fighting , the party leader was shocked to see Mike handle a hundred of B-rank monsters by utilizing his magic.

"I'm not sure if his rank is G! Boss, do you really believe in that guy's word?," one of the members told the boss.

"Well, it's not that It is a subject of my care!," Antonio refuted.

"But If there's one thing that weirded me out is that he is killing those B-rank monsters using a sword. He told me that his class is a mage, yet his swordsmanship surpasses that of a B-rank! Although they are low compared to A or S-class monsters, they are still the the third highest class of Outsiders! To think that a mere, G-rank can do these things!"

While they are in the middle of their suspicion, a giant spider with a name on it's forehead, revealed itself.

"The great arachnid of the mountains."

No answer was made but only a hysterical laugh coming from their leader.

"hahahahaha! HAHAHAHAHAHA! are you guys cowering in your hearts just because a giant spider suddenly showed up?"

"No, but if we are going to fi-"

"Shut up! Everyone, prepare your weapons, we'll going to fight that thing"

Before Antonio engaged in battle, he suddenly remembered one hunter whom he never saw for almost 10 minutes now.

"Fucking Mike! Where is he now?," he shouted.

"We don't know boss! Maybe he became too coward?"

Laughs enveloped the air as they insulted Mike in all ways possible. It is really easy for them to judge the lowest of the lowest of the hunters. Pathetic!

"Just like what I thought, that guy is a complete douchebag! Nevermind him, let's go and fight that bastard of a monster!"

"Yes boss!"

"We'll take all the drops by ourselves!"

"Honor for the Minokawa!"

They really thought they could fight a giant spider...

"I'm sure this is where I could find the item!"

Contrary to what the other hunters thought, Mike did not cower in fear, instead he is going for the KILL!

"I must hurry!"

Earlier, when the Arachno manifested itself, Mike was the first person to notice that the giant boss Outsider is a low-ranking A-tier monster. He is the only one to see the hole that it crawled out from. Thanks to the power of the Dagitab, which is far more advanced than all systems possessed by any hunter, he was notified that this is where the item- Mayari's eye is situated. 

"The heart of the spider is the Eye itself! If I could somehow get it, they might defeat the monster below!"

Mike knew it that this was all the system's doing. This Hex is truly meant for his quest.

As he was running, he was blockaded by B-tier monster that undoubtedly guards the cave where the eye is situated.

"Don't get in my way you damn bastards!"

Using the K'filan astra, he suddenly leaped to the air and incanted something on his mouth.

"Godly Swordsmanship, Gut"

He was able to replicate the movements of his Basic Swordsmanship and turned them into much more powerful attacks, capable of subduing the Outsiders with an atomic-like damage. Now that the system granted him S-rank abilities, he can now use the skills that he learned during his solitude with minimal efforts.

In a matter of seconds, the Outsiders were obliterated and was either smashed into a pulp or butchered into pieces.

"Holy cow! This is sick!," the former lowest-ranking hunter is now surprisingly grinning with his confidence in battle, something that was never seen in him.

He used the Hood of Loki's passive skill, "Leap of the Jotunns" to travel faster while destroying opponents on the way.

At the end of the lair, a bright light shines. In the center of it, lies a golden eye, outlined by tiny specks of pearls and diamonds. Beside it are hundreds of treasures that are brimming with glittering sparkles that seemed to be out of this world. 

"Holy shit!," Mike could only mutter those curses while staring at the immaculate sight in front of him.

Unfortunately, he isn't aware that something is lurking in the ceiling. It is definitely hungry and considered Mike's blood as sweet and delectable.

*Warning! A boss Outsider was detected!*

"Shit! The flank is completely destroyed!"

While Mike Sandoval is busy conquering the hidden boss lair in the ceiling, the Hunters who are full of confidence earlier were suddenly on the defense. The reason? The boss's defenses are surprisingly immune to any physical and magical defense. 

"What kind of monster is that? It seems like our attacks only tickles it!"

"Relax, my subordinates...," Antonio, the leader, told his men, "Can you see that? He is incapable of attacking while conjuring such a powerful defense! If we could somehow overwhelm it with our attacks then maybe we... c-can..."

Antonio's confidence was cut short when the boss lifted one of its legs and swiftly impaled a C-rank hunter.

"D-defeat I-it!," he really tried to finish his sentence before being thwarted by the legs on a giant rock, causing him to vomit blood.

"Damn it! I think my lungs were raptured," he is having a difficulty in breathing due to his right lung being reduced to a pulp.

But Antonio with years of experience in Martial arts and Hex Raiding, will not go down without a fight he deliberately closed both of his hands and started breathing calmly although the pain feels like a torture on his lungs.

"Self-Acupressure...," he whispered, causing his left lung to triple it's size and temporarily recovering the damage that he sustained and receiving a tremendous amount of buffs in mana and physique.

"Yeah! This is what I'm talking about!," he shouted, "It seems like I finally found the perfect victim to test this skills out!"

He positioned his arms and legs in a manner liken to a flowing river and immediately started moving his feet in the air as if he was flying.

"Free Lotus Technique, Lone Petal!," he muttered and delivered multiple punches and kicks on the monster's belly, which he rightfully believed as the weak and softest part of the boss's anatomy. He was never wrong as the boss started screeching in agony. After that, there were holes that spurted a hefty amount of purple liquid, which is the blood.

"Eat that eight-legged motherfacka! You deserve that for destroying my lung, huh?"

The monster then, moves swiftly up to the ceiling. Immediately when he reached it, he vomited a poison-filled thread that seems like soft at first but when came in-contact with the human skin is sharp as a razor wire.

"Ahh, shit! Just let me die!," a reaction by one of the D-rank hunter as soon as he was hit by the sharp threads.

Antonio and the other hunters gulped down in jittery seeing some of their comrades howl in agony.

"How many abilities did it have? Damn monster!"

Not only did it start attacking, it also became faster and agile, deflecting some of their attacks while also taking that chance to retaliate with its sharp and venomous threads.

"Everyone, occupy the high ground! We'll use fire magic!," Antonio Mendoza instructed his subordinates.

They did so as he asked and started making their signature formation-- The Hedgehog attack.

Tanks positioned their shields in a dome-like formation while blade users such as spearman and swordsman filled the gaps between the shields using their sharp weapons.

The mages then took on the space in the center of the formation, concentrating all their mana in a single hole. 

"Try to endure this attack from our magnificent formation," the Party leader taunt the creature, "Everyone, charge!"

As soon as he gave the order, the hunters attacked the boss Outsider first with their long-range hits, assisted by some of the Archers that they hired before the raid.

The Mages then started casting their fire spells towards the monster which halted its movements for sometime.

On the other hand, Antonio and his assassins who positioned themselves in the ceiling, jumped at the back of the boss and started slashing its thick shell in order to give way for the long-range attackers to fire and damage its insides.

"Breath of the Mantis!"

The party leader then used one of his most powerful Kung-Fu attack that sliced through the shell of the opponent. In response, the monster screeched in pain and started moving at an incredible speed towards the Hedgehog formation.

"Shit! At this rate, we would fly faster than damaging this thick steel of a body!

"Everyone, held yourselves!"

"Shit, I did not anticipate this one!"

Mike readied his body for an imminent confrontation with the Boss Outsider who is undeniably more powerful than the one Antonio and the hunters are fighting below.

The giant lion then started running towards him in a wild manner.

"That's too fast!"

Fortunately, the system warned him about the impending attack and evaded it at the last minute.

"Grrr!"

However, a boss outsider is not a one trick-pony that only resorted to one attack, especially if it's high-rank. Surely, Mike is much stronger now, but still, an S-rank monster is an S-rank. It would not be an easy defeat for him. 

"Compare to that god, you are nothing!," Mike is now full of resolve.

"Summon, K'lung and K'filan!," Mike summoned his powerful Astras.

"Blood Moon!," He activated the skill of the sword which began emanating a crimson hue and collided with the Arimaonga's attack.

"Slash!," He now inflicted his first ever slash to the monster.

The monster, although suffering from a wound, continued the advance and moved its claw in a swing. The aftermath of the move produced a fiery blade-like attack that chased Mike.

Mike, however, is not planning to retreat. He then deflected the attack using the shield and casted a powerful lightning spell that hit the boss on the chest.

"Blood acquisition 10%"

Using the Hood of Loki, he ran towards the monster at an incredible speed which accelerated the energy of the surrounding, propelling him alongside his blade to pierce the Boss.

"Blood acquisition 14%"

"Roar!"

The suddenly accumulated fire magic in his mouth and launched it towards the Mike who cannot deflect the attack speedily.

"Damn it!"

The monster then launched a physical attack that sliced through the armor of Mike, causing him to suffer more damage.

"This is not possible!," Mike who's now full of agitation, then aggressively moved and slashed his blades towards the monster.

Powered by the bloodlust of the sword K'lung, he thwarted himself towards the monster again and started exchanging an endless chain of attacks with the boss.

"Godly swordsmanship, Gut!," he slashed the monster in a cross-shape attack that damaged the hard body.

"I won't make this easy for you!"

Suddenly, the monster halted attacking and casted a massive shield to protect its body. While inside of it, he started roaring in an eerie manner. At the same time, its fur had started to grow longer while he became taller. His tooth and claws looked like they became sharper while its eyes are now bursting with fire.

A system warning manifested infront of Mike.
