HIGH SCHOOL DIARIES (A Tale Of Love And Deception)

Chapter 130: Chapter 130 The last battle

10 MINUTES BEFORE HADRAIN ARRIVAL

The red, spiraling beam tore through the ground, piercing the heavens as Hadrain and Lamia stepped out of the portal into chaos. Ivory High, once a beacon of sophistication, was now unrecognizable—a graveyard of collapsed buildings and smoldering ruins.

Lamia froze, his breath hitching as his eyes darted from the crumbled towers to the countless lifeless bodies scattered across the grounds. Screams of terrified parents and students echoed as demons rained fire from above, obliterating what little remained of Valemont City.

"Hadrain, people are dying!" Lamia's voice broke, trembling. "Grandma was right. We have to stop this. We can't just stand by and let them destroy everything!"

Hadrain glanced at Lamia, his face taut with determination. He knew Lamia's powers were still raw, untamed, and the thought of Lamia facing this destruction alone was unbearable.

"You're not ready for this, Lamia," Hadrain said firmly. "Your powers aren't fully developed, and I won't let you get hurt—or worse, killed. Let me handle this."

"But we're supposed to do this together!" Lamia protested, only to be interrupted by a familiar voice.

"Lamia! Oh my God, Lamia, you're back!"

Sylvia rushed toward him, pulling him into a tight embrace. Her relief was palpable as she jumped with joy. "I thought we'd lost you! What happened?"

Before Lamia could answer, Hadrain's sharp voice cut through. "Sylvia, there's no time for this! People are dying out there!"

Sylvia sighed, reaching into her pocket to reveal a glowing stone. It pulsed with a strange energy, growing brighter as it neared Lamia.

"What's that?" Lamia asked, eyes narrowing.

"It's from Mrs. Anderson, our principal," Sylvia explained hurriedly. "She said it's the only way to defeat the enemy. Lamia, you're our only hope. Please, don't let us down!"

Without hesitation, Lamia took the stone. A blinding light engulfed him, and before Hadrain could react, Lamia vanished into thin air.

"Sylvia, what have you done?" Hadrain roared, his golden eyes blazing with fury.

"Relax," Sylvia stammered. "He's gone to meet the oldest divine hunters—the only ones who can help him defeat the Lord of Darkness."

Hadrain's jaw tightened, but he knew there was no turning back. He glanced at the chaos unfolding around them, demons pouring out in waves.

"Stay out of this, Sylvia," he commanded. "Leave the school grounds and find somewhere safe. I'll handle the rest."

Sylvia hesitated, but Hadrain's hypnotic gaze left her no choice. She turned and fled, leaving Hadrain alone to face the onslaught.

Hadrain's lips curled into a cruel smile. "Your reign of terror ends now, Lord of Darkness."

With a surge of power, he vanished into the shadows.

Hadrain materialized before Asmodues, the air thick with malice and raw energy. The Lord of Darkness stood tall, his crimson eyes blazing as he unleashed a torrent of green and red energy.

"Shall we see who stands taller?" Hadrain taunted, his golden eyes igniting with a deadly fire.

Asmodues roared, firing his energy with unrelenting force. Hadrain countered, summoning dark shadows intertwined with beams of fire. The two attacks collided, shaking the very foundation of the earth.

Asmodues transformed, his body swelling into a grotesque demon with jagged horns and massive wings. Hadrain's own form shifted—a beast with fiery eyes, sharp claws, and shadowy tendrils.

Hadrain leaped forward, his claws slashing through Asmodues' armor-like skin. The Lord of Darkness howled in rage, retaliating with a swing of his colossal arm. Hadrain dodged, his movements a blur as he delivered blow after devastating blow.

The battlefield erupted in chaos as Hadrain summoned a prison of dark energy, trapping and obliterating the demons. One by one, they disintegrated into ash, their souls cast into the abyss.

"You underestimate me, son of Lucifer," Asmodues sneered, rising from the rubble. "My Queen's sacrifices empower me beyond your comprehension!"

Asmodues drew upon the blood magic, his chants echoing as he hurled dark rituals toward Hadrain. The energy struck true, sending Hadrain crashing to the ground. He screamed as blood poured from his mouth, his body convulsing.

Lamia found himself in a clearing dominated by a massive red oak tree. The air was eerily silent, broken only by his frantic calls.

"Hadrain! Sylvia!"

A voice emerged from the shadows. "Welcome, chosen one."

Lamia turned to see an old, blind man step forward. His presence was both comforting and foreboding.

"Chosen one? That can't be right," Lamia stammered.

The man chuckled softly. "You possess the mind of a god. Use it wisely, and you can defeat Asmodues. But beware—this power comes at a cost. It may claim your life."

Lamia's heart sank. "There must be another way," he pleaded.

"None," the priest replied gravely. "Abigail's sacrifices have tethered him to this realm. Only a powerful sacrifice can seal him away forever."

Tears streamed down Lamia's face. "What about my children? My fiancée?"

The priest hesitated before speaking. "Your children will shape the world in unimaginable ways. One will wield a power capable of tearing the universe apart and I see a man her partner the conjurer of darkness itself and lord of calamity and chaos both of them will bring doom to the world."

"No... it can't be true," Lamia whispered, his voice breaking.

"Use your mind, Lamia," the priest urged. "Your mind is your greatest weapon."

Lamia clenched his fists, determination hardening his features. "If this is my fate, so be it, but I won't let my children stay in a world ruled by demons."

Back on the battlefield, Hadrain pushed himself to his feet, his golden eyes burning with renewed fury.

"You forget, Asmodues," Hadrain growled. "I'm Lucifer's son. Immortality is a curse you cannot break."

Summoning the Book of Shadows, Hadrain unleashed an overwhelming surge of darkness, drawing power directly from the depths of hell. His form shifted once more, radiating an aura of pure destruction.

Asmodues roared, his body now possessed by countless demons, growing tenfold in size and power. The ground trembled beneath his steps as he lunged at Hadrain.

Lamia appeared, his body bathed in a silver light that seemed to pierce through the darkness.

"Enough!" he bellowed, his voice echoing with divine authority.

Hadrain turned, stunned. "Lamia, what are you doing here ?"

Ignoring him, Lamia closed his eyes, focusing on the power within. A massive windstorm erupted, tearing through the battlefield and scattering the demons, including Hadrain.

Asmodues smirked. "We meet again, Elysian."

Lamia's silver light intensified, engulfing his entire being. With a single motion, he directed the energy toward Asmodues. The demon screamed as the light burned through him, his form crumbling.

Summoning all his strength, Lamia conjured a massive firestorm, directing it toward the altar sustaining Asmodues. The fire consumed it, sealing Asmodues' fate.

Hadrain watched in awe as Lamia obliterated the remaining demons. But as the gate to hell opened to swallow Asmodues, Lamia's body began to waver.

The battlefield trembled as the Gate of Hell roared, its vortex of crimson fire threatening to devour everything. Lamia's body shimmered like fragile glass, breaking apart as he fought to contain the infernal forces. He gritted his teeth, the silver light of his power pulsating with divine intensity.

But amidst the chaos, a broken voice shattered the air.

"No! Lamia, no!"

Damian's voice, raw and desperate, tore through the battlefield. Bloodied and battered, he stumbled forward, his body refusing to heal from the wounds he'd sustained. His Hazel eyes were clouded with pain, but his sheer will drove him toward Lamia.

Hadrain shouted, "Lamia stop! Please I love you let's think about this!"

But Lamia wasn't listening so as Damian. He reached the barrier surrounding Lamia, the divine energy crackling violently. Being a descendants of the dead witches, he drew upon his remaining power, forming a narrow opening in the barrier that even Hadrain couldn't cross.

He pushed forward, ignoring the searing pain that tore through his body.

"Lamia!" Damian cried, collapsing at his lover's feet. "I'm so sorry—for everything. You are my love, my life, my salvation. I can't lose you again. You once gave your life to save the world, and I swore I'd never let you go. Not again."

Lamia, his form flickering, looked down at Damian with eyes filled with pain and anger. His voice was hoarse but unwavering.

"You betrayed me, Damian," Lamia said, his voice breaking. "You slept with another while I was suffering. You didn't care. You abandoned me."

Damian's tears fell freely, mixing with the blood on his face. "I love you, Lamia. I always have. And to prove it, I'll give you back the happiness you lost. I'll undo the pain I caused."

Before Lamia could respond, Damian began chanting in a low, guttural voice. The ancient spell carried the weight of forbidden magic, and the air grew thick with oppressive darkness.

"No! What do you think you're doing, Damian?" Lamia shouted, struggling to pull away.

But Damian silenced him with a kiss. The embrace was tender, desperate, and filled with a love that transcended words. A shadowy aura enveloped them both, pulsating with unholy power.

Damian's body convulsed violently as blood poured from his eyes, nose, and mouth. He screamed, his voice echoing across the battlefield.

Hadrain watched in terror, frozen by the overwhelming display of power. "Damian, stop! You'll destroy yourself!"

Suddenly, Abigail emerged from the shadows, her form twisted and monstrous, a massive demon towering behind her. She carried a jagged blade, her eyes wild with hatred.

"You can't destroy everything I planned!" she screeched, rushing toward Lamia with deadly intent.

But before she could strike, Emily appeared from behind her, wielding an axe. With a feral cry, she drove the blade deep into Abigail's abdomen, slicing her torso clean in two. Abigail gasped, her eyes wide with betrayal as she fell to the ground.

"I thought you loved me, Emily," Abigail whispered, her voice faint and broken.

Emily stood frozen, her hands trembling as Abigail's lifeless form crumpled to the earth.

Suddenly, a violent wave of light erupted from Damian's body, shaking the ground and tearing through everything in its path. The vortex consumed demons and mortals alike, including Damian.

As he was pulled into the void, his voice echoed, haunting and full of love.

"I love you, Lamia, with all my heart. You're now a half-god and witch. Stop the gate before it consumes all living things."

And then, he was gone.

Lamia's heart shattered. Tears streamed down his face as he cried out, "Damian! No!"

But there was no time to grieve. The gate's firestorm surged toward him, threatening to engulf the entire realm. Lamia wiped his tears, his determination solidifying into unyielding resolve.

"You won't have me, Gate of Hell. I hereby destroy you!"

Summoning every ounce of his power, Lamia unleashed a blinding beam of silver light. The energy collided with the gate, forcing it back inch by inch. The ground quaked as the vortex was pushed into the realm of darkness, dragging every demon with it.

The blood moon faded, replaced by the golden rays of a beautiful sunrise. The world fell silent as the gate vanished, leaving behind only peace.

But Lamia collapsed, his body lifeless and still.

"Lamia!" Hadrain screamed, rushing to his side.

Emily followed, her face streaked with tears. She glanced at Abigail's lifeless body, memories of their last kiss flashing before her eyes. Her heart ached with conflicting emotions.

Hadrain cradled Lamia in his arms, his golden eyes filled with anguish. "Don't leave us, Lamia. Not like this."

The sun rose higher, casting its warm light over the battlefield. And in that moment of quiet, the price of love and sacrifice became painfully clear.
