Chapter 28: Chapter 28

Dohnaseek barely had time to react, his eyes widening in horror as he saw Alastor's transformed figure looming over him. He tried to summon another light spear, his hands trembling as he desperately focused his energy. But before he could even begin to form the weapon, Alastor was upon him.

In a blur of motion too fast for the eye to follow, Alastor closed the distance between them. His four arms moved with frightening precision, each one a blur of deadly intent. One hand reached out and effortlessly grabbed Dohnaseek's wrist, crushing it with a sickening crunch, preventing him from completing his attack.

The Fallen Angel gasped, his eyes wide with shock and pain, but there was no time to react. With his other hand, Alastor plunged into Dohnaseek's chest with terrifying force. The sound of breaking bone and tearing flesh filled the air as Alastor's hand pierced through, emerging from Dohnaseek's back with a bloody, beating heart gripped tightly in his fist.

Dohnaseek's mouth fell open, a choked gasp escaping him as his eyes glazed over with shock and agony. His body convulsed once, twice, and then went limp, hanging uselessly from Alastor's grip.

Alastor pulled his hand back, the heart still clenched in his fist, blood dripping onto the ground. He let the lifeless body of Dohnaseek drop to the ground like a discarded rag doll, his eyes never leaving the blood-soaked organ in his hand. With a flick of his wrist, he tossed the heart aside, where it landed with a wet splat, forgotten and useless.

His four red eyes scanned the area, still burning with fury as if seeking out any other threats. The grotesque mouth on his stomach grinned wider, adding to his terrifying visage.

Sona, still reeling from the shock of the sudden violence, watched in stunned silence.

She had known Alastor was cruel to his enemy, but this… this was something else entirely. His true form, unleashed in such a brutal and unrestrained manner, was a stark reminder of the raw power he held within him—a power that could destroy anything in its path without mercy or hesitation.

Alastor slowly turned to face Sona, his eyes softening slightly as he saw her expression. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down, to push back the rage.

"Sona," he said, his voice still carrying a dangerous edge but now laced with concern, "are you okay?"

Sona nodded slowly, still trying to process what had just happened. "Y-yes, I'm fine," she managed to say, her voice shaky. "But… Alastor, you… you just—"

She is not worried about Alastor killing the fallen angel, she is concerned about the way he killed him.

"He attacked you," Alastor interrupted, his voice firm. "He deserved what he got. No one hurts you and gets away with it."

Sona nodded again, understanding but still shaken. She reached out, placing a hand on his arm, feeling the tension and power still coursing through his transformed body. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice filled with a mixture of gratitude and relief.

Alastor gave her a quick nod, his four eyes scanning the park for any other threats. "Sona, you should head back to your place," he said, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Sona looked up at him, concern evident in her eyes. "Where are you going?" she asked, sensing the anger still radiating from him.

"Just checking the surroundings," he replied, trying to sound casual, but internally, he was seething with rage.

I'm going to wipe those bastards off the face of the earth, Alastor thought to himself. The only reason I've let them live this long was to turn Asia into my peerage, but after one of Raynare's subordinates dared to attack Sona, their time is up.

Alastor's mind raced as he considered his next move. He knew that Raynare and her group of Fallen Angels were still in the church, plotting their next move. He had initially planned to use them for his own purposes, to bring Asia into his fold, but after this attack on Sona, his patience had run out.

"Alastor," she began, trying to calm him, "please, don't do anything rash. We can deal with this together. There's no need for more violence."

Although she didn't know exactly what he was planning, Sona knew Alastor well enough to sense that whatever he intended to do, it wasn't going to be peaceful. She had seen that look on his face before—the same determined, almost reckless expression he had worn when he decided to pay a visit to her ex-fiancé's house years ago. Back then, he had gone over to teach the guy a lesson after he had insulted Sona. It had ended with her ex-fiancé nearly getting killed, and a stern warning that no one ever messed with her.

She could see that same fire in his eyes now, and it worried her. Alastor had always been fiercely protective of those he cared about, and that protective streak often led him to take matters into his own hands, sometimes in ways that were far from gentle.

"Don't give me those puppy dog eyes, Sona," Alastor muttered, trying to keep his anger in check but finding it difficult with her looking at him like that. Her big, worried eyes seemed to pierce right through him.

"Alastor," she said again, more softly this time, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know you're angry. I know you want to protect me, but please, don't let your anger control you. We can find another way to handle this, without resorting to more violence."

Oh fuck! Seeing Sona so worried, so desperate to keep him from doing something reckless, made him hesitate. This is why I don't like falling in love, it makes you weak.

{But you are still listening to her.} Ddraig commented.

Fuck off.
