Chapter 184: Joining Her!

Chapter 184 - Joining Her!

Hestia's eyes, which had begun to dim, lit up again.

She grabbed Eina's arms excitedly, as if pulling her into an embrace.

"Hey, hey, hey! You just said that the person is planning to join my Familia, right?"

"I didn't mishear, did I? I definitely didn't mishear!"

Hestia tightened her grip on Eina, her heart growing warm, her eyes shining with starry delight.

"Ah, yes…"

Eina, unused to Hestia's enthusiasm, stood stiffly, responding with an awkward smile.

"Really?"

Hestia gazed at Eina hopefully.

Her earlier frustration had vanished without a trace, replaced by radiant excitement.

"Um, Lady Hestia, could you let me go first?"

Eina frowned.

Hestia was too close, holding on too tightly.

"Sorry."

Hestia quickly released Eina and forced a nervous smile.

"At first, Mahiro really did plan to follow my suggestion and join your Familia."

"But as you've seen, Lady Hestia, his first impression of you wasn't very good… So…"

Eina gave a wry smile. "Well then… I'll head back to guild first."

After speaking, Eina turned and left quickly.

Although she still held respect for gods in her heart, Eina felt a bit uneasy about Hestia's overwhelming enthusiasm.

She had no idea what odd situations might arise if she stayed.

Hestia was stunned for a moment, then hurried after Eina.

This was the first time in so many days that someone had actually considered joining her Familia.

If she missed this chance, Hestia worried that no one else would ever want to join in the future.

After these past few days, Hestia had long since lost the lofty ambitions she held when she first descended to the lower world.

Now, she would agree without hesitation to anyone willing to join her Familia.

"Wait for me!"

Hestia took quick, small steps and soon caught up to Mahiro, blocking his path with both arms.

"Huf…"

Hestia ran so fast that she was out of breath.

"What is it?"

Mahiro, seeing Hestia standing before him, appeared calm on the surface, but inwardly he was smiling.

Just as he expected, Hestia wouldn't let him leave so easily.

"Your issue is with my clothes, right?"

Hestia took a deep breath and looked at Mahiro with a determined gaze.

"I'll change it for you!"

"..."

Mahiro feigned confusion.

"So please, don't leave! Please join my Familia!"

Hestia looked at Mahiro with pleading eyes.

"Let me think about it."

Mahiro did not agree immediately.

"Eina," he said, turning to Eina, "do you have any more conservative clothing available?"

Hearing Mahiro's reply, Hestia felt even more nervous.

She wasn't a fool—she knew his answer sounded more like a brush-off.

If she missed this chance, who knew if she'd ever get another?

So, Hestia decided to act quickly.

"Uh… yes, I believe I have something," Eina responded.

"Please lend me one," Hestia requested, folding her hands together.

"I don't have any Valis on me right now, but I'll repay you as soon as I can."

"You're too kind. It's just one outfit," Eina said, feeling flattered.

"Mahiro, would you like to come along?"

Eina asked, since this was all for his sake, and his opinion mattered most.

"Okay," Mahiro nodded.

Eina's residence wasn't far from the Guild.

In less than ten minutes of walking, the three arrived at her place.

Along the way, Hestia spoke to Mahiro very carefully, trying to improve his impression of her and worried he might run off if she let her guard down.

Eina felt quite speechless.

She had worked at the Guild for so long and had seen gods who were approachable, but they always maintained a certain dignity.

To see a goddess being so cautious, as though terrified of offending an adventurer, was a first.

"Eina, do you live alone?"

Mahiro asked as they stepped inside, taking note of the home's layout.

"Yes," Eina nodded.

"But this is just a dormitory provided by the Guild. My real home is elsewhere."

"Mahiro, could you wait here in the living room?"

"Lady Hestia and I will go change her clothes," Eina said, then took Hestia into another room, leaving Mahiro to wait alone.

About ten minutes later, Eina and Hestia emerged.

Eina wore the same attire as before, while Hestia had exchanged her outfit for a cute, more conservative dress.

"How is it?" Hestia asked nervously, completely unlike her usual self.

She even pinched the skirt's hem, as if trying to steady herself.

Mahiro took his time examining Hestia's appearance seriously.

When Hestia was so nervous she could hardly breathe, he finally spoke.

"It's alright. It looks befitting of a goddess."

"See? I told you this would satisfy him," Eina said, relieved that her promise to Hestia had borne fruit.

Hestia's tense expression finally relaxed into a bright smile.

"Well then… about joining my Familia?"

Hestia asked, looking at Mahiro expectantly.

"Sure," Mahiro nodded.

"Great!" Hestia cheered, unable to restrain herself from hugging him.

Mahiro felt the warmth and softness of her embrace and smiled helplessly, sensing her genuine joy and excitement.

"You can let me go now," He said, not wanting to linger too long in her embrace.

There would be plenty of time in the future, after all.

"Okay!" Hestia released him immediately.

"Eina, may I borrow your living room to..." Mahiro asked.

"No problem," Eina nodded. "I'll go back to my room for now. Call me if you need anything."

"No," Mahiro shook his head.

"Hmm?" Eina looked puzzled.

"I trust you," he added said with a smile.

Mahiro knew that Eina was reliable—he knew this from the anime.

He felt no discomfort trusting her. After all, she was someone he knew to be dependable.

Besides, Showing trust would only improve their relationship.
