HINATA SISTER: THE GLOW OF RISING MOON

Chapter 10: Chapter 9: Echoes of the Past

The trio gathered in a quiet corner of the Lunar Archives, the faint glow of the memory crystal illuminating their faces. Amara sat cross-legged on the stone floor, holding the crystal carefully in her hands.

Seris knelt beside her, her silver eyes studying the artifact. "The crystal contains echoes—memories left behind by the Lunar Clan. But unlocking it requires a connection to the Crescent Light."

Kael leaned against a crumbling pillar, arms crossed. "Let me guess. That means Amara."

Seris nodded. "The pendant will serve as the key. It will link Amara's energy to the crystal, allowing her to see what's inside."

Amara hesitated, the weight of responsibility pressing down on her. "And if I can't control it?"

"You can," Seris said firmly. "The Light chose you for a reason. Trust in that."

Taking a deep breath, Amara placed the crystal on the floor and held the pendant over it. The two artifacts began to glow, their lights intertwining in a swirling dance of silver and blue.

"Focus," Seris instructed. "Let the pendant guide you."

---

As Amara concentrated, the world around her faded. She felt herself being pulled into the crystal, her senses overwhelmed by a rush of energy and light.

When she opened her eyes, she was no longer in the archives. Instead, she stood in a vast, moonlit courtyard surrounded by towering marble pillars. Figures in flowing robes moved gracefully, their faces serene as they tended to glowing orbs of light.

"This must be the Lunar Clan," Amara murmured, her voice echoing in the dreamlike space.

One figure stood apart from the rest—a tall woman with hair like spun silver and eyes that shone with the same light as the pendant. She turned, her gaze locking onto Amara.

"You have come," the woman said, her voice resonant and powerful. "Bearer of the Crescent Light, you stand at the crossroads of fate."

"Who are you?" Amara asked, her heart pounding.

"I am Selene, last guardian of the Lunar Clan," the woman replied. "The memories you see are but echoes of what once was—a time when the Light and Shadow existed in harmony."

---

Selene gestured, and the scene shifted. The serene courtyard darkened, replaced by a battlefield shrouded in shadow. Figures in dark armor clashed with the Lunar Clan, their weapons dripping with malevolent energy.

"The Ember Shadows," Selene said, her voice tinged with sorrow. "Once our allies, they succumbed to the lure of power. They sought to corrupt the Light, to twist it into a weapon of destruction."

Amara watched in horror as the battle unfolded, the Lunar Clan overwhelmed by the sheer ferocity of the Ember Shadows.

"But why? Why would they do this?"

"Power," Selene said simply. "The Crescent Light is not merely a source of energy—it is the key to the Balance. With it, one can reshape the world, for better or worse."

The scene shifted again, showing Selene standing before a massive altar. She held the pendant in her hands, her expression grim.

"To protect the Light, I divided its essence and sealed it within the pendant, binding it to a worthy soul. That soul is you, Amara."

---

The vision began to fade, and Amara felt herself being pulled back to the present. Selene's voice echoed in her mind.

"Beware, Bearer. The Ember Shadows will stop at nothing to claim the Light. You must unite the Balance, or the world will fall to chaos."

Amara's eyes snapped open, her breath coming in ragged gasps. The glow of the crystal and pendant had dimmed, leaving the chamber in near darkness.

Kael crouched beside her, concern etched on his face. "What did you see?"

Amara relayed the vision, her voice trembling as she recounted Selene's words.

Seris's expression grew grim. "It's worse than I thought. If the Ember Shadows succeed in corrupting the Light, they'll plunge the world into eternal darkness."

Kael frowned. "So, no pressure, right?"

Amara stood, determination replacing her fear. "Selene trusted me with this. I won't let the Ember Shadows win."

Seris nodded, her eyes fierce. "Then we need to prepare. The answers we've found are only the beginning. The true battle lies ahead."
