Get out of here you damn birds. Fly freely overgrown birds, fly freely~
Felix with an amused expression could be seen standing at the windowstill of his office, watching the figures of many colorful Owls fly throughout the air, all carrying a bag containing the Acceptance Letters of children.
131 students in total. Out of the 10 Owls, some became unlucky and we're actually tasked to deliver 10-20 letters, and some who's lucky we're tasked to deliver 5-10.
The unfairness of this is most evident to some of the Owls faces as they grumbled under their breath, only they understood each other. While some sing a happy tone to themselves, which the grumbling Owls seems to detest.
Felix sights, he couldn't do a thing about this. This is the most effective set-up he could brainstorm at night, with each state having a different number of students.
Kansas for example had 16 students, which one Owl is tasked to deliver. All-while Gotham City had merely 5 students, meaning 5 letters.
Numbers differ for each state. Due to lack of manpower (Owls) he needed to do this, because not sooner than later he, alongside McGonagall needed to visit each student one-by-one.
Interview, showing the magical side of the world, promises for a better future, convincing the parents to enroll their children in a boarding school in another world.
In another world which is empty, except other than a stern Deputy Headmistress, and a chill, caring Headmaster. There definitely wouldn't be a problem, I assure you.
Felix had even practiced repeatedly what he'll do to convince the children, and the parents to enroll their kids. More on charms, more on deceptive, more on talking and convincing.
While McGonagall had her own style, in contrast to his playful demeanor, she'll go with professional, transfiguration, and explanation about this and that.
But before that, he needs to prepare the Wizardry World for the children. Most importantly he'll have to start with Hogwarts; facilities, offices, great hall, stairs, decorations and such.
Felix turned around and looked around at his messy, cramped office filled to the brim with either crumbled paper thrown to the side, or books relating to magic, some open, some not.
With a sight Felix thought of calling for an House Elf, but decided not too. Only 4 Elves is currently living inside Hogwarts Castle, all working day and night to make meals for McGonagall and him, grande meals even though he only brings them magic ingredients.
Like boar meat, some spices, and other such ingredients. Not wanting to bother them, who's probably cooking for a meal, Felix decided to clean his mess himself, and probably improve the room by spending some of his accumulated wealth here.
And so with a hand gesture from his hands did the trash gather at one place. The wind causing Felix to slightly cover his eyes in response, not wanting to get some dust into his eyes.
With a smile he watches closely how the cobwebs that have accumulated since he got here be cleaned out, the spider on the corner of the room tightly holding onto the corners for dear life — all while presumably grumbling in its language.
Felix didn't care at all, he refocused his attention on the steady stream of dust, cobwebs, dirt, stains, and paper, then with another motion of his hand all of them pulled themselves inwards until none was left. The beauty of magic is that, it makes life easier the more one uses it.
So it's not a surprise that Felix became lazy after being familiar with his abilities.
With another wave of his hand the once messy stack of books, and papers stack themselves neatly on the side of the room. With another the table and chairs then fixed themselves upright.
With another the curtains in the room was dusted. With another the windows got cleaned by cloth and water that appeared out of thin air, moving freely in the air.
With another feather dusters appeared out of thin air, flourishing the corners of the room, causing a game of cat and mouse in-between them who's solely focused on cleaning, and the small spider on the corner who's busy with staying alive. Playing life of death.
Like a conductor in an opera, and his hands as his baton, Felix made changes throughout his small office. The stains throughout the room, and the unexplainable aroma disappear in no time. Which made Felix quite satisfied.
Looking in front of him, at the office which is uncharacteristically clean compared to the owner of it, which isn't, Felix felt proud slightly as he finally made his way out of his office, stumbling into the maze-like hallways.
Hallways in which only has basic decorations in them, wooden furniture, unmoving painting, and finally suits of armor. All of them not having any magical affinity due to Felix's lack of funds, and way of saving money.
But soon they'll gain life, gain sentience. The great Hogwarts halls will be filled with ghosts, poltergeists, magical moving paintings, and finally moving armor as guardians with their own sense of humor.
Basic landmark which Hogwarts have been known for. The moving stair case with their unpredictability, the room of requirements that fulfills the user's every whim, the candle lights of Great Hall that shines like stars.
Felix wanted to recreate his childhood and make it more fun for the future generations to come. But due to lack of funds, and ways to gather wealth, hard-earned Gold Galleons, can he yet to upgrade Hogwarts.
He made a vow to himself, and finally to the Wizardry World that he found himself in, to make this world an inhabitable place not just for himself, but for the young wizards and witches who lives scattered throughout the other world. Of Detective Comic's Universe.
In comparison to his previous world, the other world didn't even have the luxury to learn magic, or establish a hidden world underneath theirs.
Pitiful, Felix finds it pitiful. So right then and there, Felix's simple musing actually became more heavier by the minute, until finally it became a full-grown motivation to him.
He doesn't know if it's the hunger getting into him, his days of not sleeping, or worry and anxiety about being one of the only two Professor inside New Hogwarts. But he knows damn well that he'll have to move faster if he wants to eat.
To the Great Hall.
