Hokage: I Traveled Through Time With The Tenseigan

Chapter 110: Chapter 108: Everyone Is Lucky to Come Back Alive from the Battlefield

There were dead people in the morgue, but the medical room was filled with wounded soldiers brought back from the battlefield.

The second lesson on experiencing the cruelty of war was about to begin.

After making preparations, the two children followed Shigeru to inspect the ward.

Here, they saw many wounded people: some in better condition with intact limbs, and others in poor condition with severed arms and legs.

"Quickly ask Mr. Shigeru to send the patient to the operating room, quick!"

The medical room was one of the busiest places in the camp.

As long as wounded soldiers were brought in, the medical room never quieted down.

"Ah! My hand, my hand!"

A wounded man whose right hand was almost completely severed—with only a small amount of skin and flesh keeping it attached—was rushed to the operating room. Blood pooled on the floor. Nasuki and Namikaze Minato followed Shigeru, looking helpless.

"Be quiet."

Shigeru calmly raised his hand and knocked the wounded man on the head. The soldier rolled his eyes and fell unconscious. Shigeru quickly cut the nerves in the man's arm to stop the bleeding.

He carefully examined the wound for toxins. After confirming it was safe, he cleaned the nearly severed arm and surgically reattached it.

Once the arm was reattached, Shigeru used Ninjutsu to heal the wound and accelerate recovery.

When the wound reached a certain stage of recovery, he secured it with a fixed wooden board, completing the procedure.

After reconnecting the severed nerves, Shigeru instructed a nurse to move the injured soldier to the ward.

"Gulp~~~"

As he removed his gloves, Shigeru heard the sound of someone swallowing nervously. When he turned around, he saw the two children standing stiffly, their faces pale. They were clearly shaken.

Although the bloody scenes in the operating room were not as horrifying as the morgue, they left a greater emotional impact.

After all, the morgue was a place for the dead, while the operating room dealt with the living.

Washing his hands, Shigeru led the two out of the operating room.

"The wounded man just now was quite lucky. He was brought back in time, and his arm wasn't completely severed. After recovery, he'll be able to use it again," Shigeru explained.

"What about those people in the ward who have lost their arms and legs?" one of the children asked hesitantly.

In the ninja world, medical advancements, combined with medical Ninjutsu, allowed for complex surgeries that were nearly impossible in previous times.

As long as the medical ninja performing the surgery was skilled, the chances of failure were minimal.

Shigeru sighed, drying his hands with a towel. He turned to the children and said, "Being injured on the battlefield and surviving is already lucky. Many of those with amputated arms or legs didn't bring back the severed parts or were injured too severely to be treated."

"Some wounded soldiers are too far gone even when they manage to return. Others have to face amputation."

"Although the medical room is a place to save lives, it can scar people's souls just as much as the morgue. Watch carefully and reflect on what you see."

"Sometimes, coming back with a broken arm is a blessing. Those who are poisoned often fare much worse."

The thought of poisoned soldiers made Nasuki shudder. The poisoned victims looked even more horrific than those with severed limbs.

---

Unable to bear the silence, Nasuki elbowed Minato and whispered, "Say something, Minato! Help us out here!"

Minato hesitated but finally asked, "Sensei, don't we need to train?"

"Of course," Shigeru replied. "Sending you to the morgue and medical room is to strengthen your character. Training will resume tomorrow."

Hearing this, the boys perked up.

"Really? That's great!"

Shigeru smirked at their enthusiasm. He added, "Today, you can help out in the medical room wherever needed. But starting tomorrow, I'll take time to guide your training personally."

The boys nodded eagerly and threw themselves into helping out, though their minds were already on tomorrow's training session.

---

The next morning, Shigeru prepared breakfast before pulling the boys out of bed.

"Is it already dawn?" Minato asked groggily as he quickly got up. Nasuki yawned, rubbing his eyes and reluctant to move.

"No time to sleep in," Shigeru said firmly. "Breakfast is ready. You have two minutes."

"Coming!"

At the mention of food, Nasuki suddenly became alert, hopping out of bed and dressing quickly.

Soon, the three of them were squatting at the entrance of the rest area, holding steaming bowls of noodles.

"Sensei," Nasuki mumbled with a mouthful of noodles, "why are we eating at the door?"

"Because it tastes better this way," Shigeru replied nonchalantly.

"Really?" Nasuki squinted, unconvinced.

After eating, Nasuki gave Shigeru a hopeful look, clearly wanting the same attention as Minato.

Shigeru waved him over. "How many types of Water Style Ninjutsu do you know?"

"I know several!" Nasuki began excitedly, only to be interrupted by Shigeru.

"That's enough. Your training will focus on using one Water Style Ninjutsu repeatedly. Work on compressing it until it's perfect."

The Senju family's affinity for water and earth Chakra was evident in Nasuki. He had plenty of Chakra and a knack for Water Style techniques.

By mastering Water Style Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, and the Teleportation Technique, Nasuki could emulate a weaker version of Senju Tobirama, the legendary ninja.

"Focus on what you're good at," Shigeru advised. "Strengthen those areas, and the rest will follow."

Nasuki's eyes lit up with determination. His training was about to take a serious turn.
