Housekeeper in the dungeon

chapter 51

Episode 51

The brothers worked like mules.

The house was immaculate in less than half a day. Even the limescale in the toilet was so white it stung their eyes.

“Ah, it’s done! I’ll never have to pull tears out of your eyes again!”

Hee-na threw a romantic line at the snail on the table, and I could hear Hee-won clicking her tongue.

But Hee-na was serious. She even put the snail in her hand and patted it.

“How scared she must have been to be alone?

I can’t even imagine how lonely and alone he must have felt, thinking that his family was about to abandon him.

I regretted that I didn’t talk to her sooner, thinking it was just jealousy.

“If I had, the house wouldn’t be like this.

Hee-Na shook her head and opened the inventory window. She grabbed a bottle of Class A mold killer.

“I got lucky with this one.

Most of the items in the level-up random drops were worthless, but the Class A Mold Killer was really useful.

It cleaned up the mold in the house and, most importantly, saved Hee-na and Kang jin-hyeon’s lives.

‘I’ll leave it behind and pass it on as a family heirloom.

Hee-na clapped her hands together, determined in her heart.

“Now it’s time to get rid of the mold!”

She put on a disposable mask and shooed her brother and Oh out the front door.

Hee-won scooped him up in her arms and headed outside. It was just before dusk, so it was time to water the fields.

“Hard work.”

Oh, Sack poked his head over Hee-won’s shoulder, cheering her on.

The ground hardened after the rain, and it felt like they were closer after a good run. Hee-na smiled and waved at Oh Sae-yi.

She heard the front door close with a bang.

“Come on. Let’s get started!”

Hee-na shook the Class A fungus-killing liquid in her hand.

Her attitude was as fierce as when she fought the King Mushroom. This was her precious home, her blood, sweat, and tears. She couldn’t let a fungus take over.

Chirp! Chirp!

As she sprayed every corner of the room, she could see the grayish mold slowly disappear. The effect was always amazing.

I was thrilled to see such a noticeable effect. As I was humming a tune and spraying the solution, something popped up in front of me. It was a system window

*Achievement awarded for slaughtering over 10 million creatures cumulatively.

*Notes: The achievement is only counted for the first time.>

“Wow…….”

Hee-Na scratched her cheek. It was ridiculous that she’d gotten the 10 Million Slayer achievement for exterminating a fungus.

“I guess fungus counts as life.”

But I didn’t feel guilty about killing so many lives.

Mold was one of the main culprits of home comfort. She had no mercy for mold, mosquitoes, or cockroaches.

So she diligently sprayed the mold-killing solution, achieving the dreaded feat of “10 Million Slayer.

“that was it. Shouldn’t it be completely gone by now?”

She put the Class A Fungicide into her inventory and dusted off her hands.

Her eyes stung as she sprayed inside the closed house.

“We need to ventilate.”

Hee-Na wiped the sweat from her brow and opened the front door.

She opened the door to a lush, jungle-like dungeon that reminded her of her brother’s place.

Hee-Na did a double-take at the sight before her.

“Wow. You’ve done a lot of clearing, you must have worked hard.”

The area within a 4-meter radius of the front door, or a safe distance, was clean and clear. There were no odd-looking trees or grasses, just a neatly cleared vegetable garden.

“Are you done? It took longer than I thought.”

Hee-won was taking off her mask and breathing in the fresh air when her brother suddenly appeared. Hee-won was wearing knee-high boots and carrying a watering can.

“that was great, Lee Hee-won. You’re strong.”

Hee-Na clapped her hands in unison. To have cleared this land of vines and trees, was a feat that could only be accomplished with the strength of an ox.

“I finished it not long ago. I feel proud every time I see it.”

Hee-won laughs and shows off her four-meter radius garden.

“Plus, the soil here is so soft and moist, so everything seems to grow well.”

The siblings sat in the open front doorway and chatted.

“What happened to the cherry tomatoes you grew in the other field?”

“It’s dead. I guess it didn’t like the dungeon.”

“Again?”

Hee-won scratched his head.

He was embarrassed to think about it. He was a farmer by trade, but he hadn’t grown anything. At most, he’d grown a few heads of lettuce.

“Haha. You’re not very good at farming compared to your clearing, are you? I don’t know what’s wrong with you.”

“Well, you’re just a beginner. You’ll get better gradually.”

Hee-na comforted her brother.

“Cherry tomatoes. My condolences. R.I.P.”

Oh, Sack joined the conversation as if he were there.

“Yeah. Thanks, guys.”

Hee-won chuckled picked Oh up and put him on his lap.

It was already dusk. The sky was beginning to turn red. The three of them sat still and watched the sunset. The rest after labor was like honey. The atmosphere was peaceful.

“Ah. By the way, brother.”

It was Hee-na who broke the silence first. As they talked about seedlings and seeds, something came to mind.

“Why?”

“What happened to the seeds I gave you last time?”

“The seeds? What do you mean, the ones left behind after the fragment of space disappeared, or the ones you picked up in the mushroom dungeon?”

“The back one.”

hee-na had long since given up on germinating the seeds from the Spatial Shard.

In other words, the seeds she was referring to were the ones from the mushroom dungeon.

Not long ago, when she and Kang Jinhyun had fallen into the Mushroom Dungeon, she had gotten three things.

The first was a B-class boss monster’s gemstone, the second was an SSS-class newspaper, and the third was a ‘mysterious seed’.

that was as much as Hee-Na could tell about the ‘unidentified seed’.

As the name implied, she didn’t know what kind of seed it was, and it didn’t have a rank. She also had no idea why it had been abandoned in a dungeon with nothing but mushrooms.

The only hint was the phrase “special care and attention”. It was like when I saw the information about the ‘dirty piece of □□’ before.

‘The special care and touch they were referring to was my caretaker’s touch.

The rust that had been so sad was wiped clean by Hee-Na’s touch, revealing its identity.

In a similar vein, if Hee-won, a farmer, handled the ‘mysterious seeds’, something could be revealed. This was just Hee-Na’s speculation, but it sounded like a plausible theory.

So Hee-Na handed the mysterious seed over to her brother, Hee-Won.

Hee-won alternated between looking at the seed’s status window and his system window for a while and then declared that he would try to grow it.

To his surprise, the moment he received the seed, a hidden quest window popped up. The quest was “Grow a pet plant”?

The quest didn’t give her any information about the seed, but it did give her a rough outline of how to grow it.

Hee-won took the seed and planted it in a corner of her dungeon garden. She planted it right next to the “□□□ □□ seed” she had planted earlier and tended to it daily.

Hee-Na had been so busy processing the paperwork for the three houses she had received from the Blue Dragon Guild that she had forgotten about the mysterious seed for a while.

However, with all this time on her hands, she was naturally curious about the whereabouts of the seeds.

“I planted it here, would you like to take a look?”

Hee-won pointed to a corner of the garden.

“It’s sprouted, and it doesn’t need water to grow. Maybe it’s because there’s a quest?”

Hee-Na followed her brother and squatted in front of the garden.

Within a few days, the seed had sprouted two leaves the size of her palm, with a sturdy-looking stalk growing between them.

At the end of the stem, buds were poking out of the leaves, and they looked like tiny tulips.

The tips of the leaves glistened with droplets of water as if they had just been fed.

“It’s cute.”

Hee-Na reached out and flicked the leaf with her finger, and the water droplets on the tip of the leaf did the same.

“It’ll probably get bigger. It’s not even 10% grown yet. The quest says it’s 3% grown.”

Hee-won explained. Hee-Na was stunned by the number.

“If it’s only three percent bigger, won’t it become a tree when it’s fully grown?”

“I don’t know. We’ll have to see.”

Hee-won shrugged in response to her sister’s surprise.

It was then.

There was no wind, but the trunk bent and two leaves began to flutter like wings.
