chapter 60
EPISODE 60
Hee-Na clutched her head.
“was this how my skills would be discovered again?
Woo Min-ah had tried to be as invisible as possible, but it was hard to do. She needed too many alibis to hide something. I got stabbed a lot, just like now.
“Yeah. How did I……?”
Hee-won stroked his chin, lost in thought, and then realized that this was it.
“Let’s call it a skill.”
“Skill?”
“Told them that there’s a skill that prevents noise between floors in the housekeeper’s specialty, so they won’t heared anything.”
It was a very strange explanation. Hee-na furrowed her brow.
“What was that, you think such a lame lie will work?”
“Well, you’ve got all the skills in the world, and you were in a unique class, so they won’t know what to make of you. It was a hidden class, so it was not a big deal.”
Hee-won imparted a bit of life wisdom, saying that in Korea, the loudest person wins.
“Right, right, right. He who cries first wins.”
Oh, Sae-yi twitched his antennae, saying that was the way things were in the world.
Even the Go player clapped his hands with two blades of grass as if he’d heard a great speech.
‘was loud and brash the answer after all?
Hee-na’s heart was moved by the fact that a man, a snail, and a plant were so insistent, and it seemed that they could fool Kang jin-hyeon if they were so shameless.
“was that so?”
“Thought about what happens next. What if we get caught? You said he can’t even ate his food, let alone yours.”
Hee-won, the eldest, was bold and carefree compared to Hee-na. Moreover, he revealed a strange humanity, saying that anyone who harms the person who feeds him is worse than an animal.
‘Hagin…….’
As I listened to my brother’s sermon, it seemed like he couldn’t be wrong again.
Kang jin-hyeon was so drunk that he was carrying Hee-na and thinking it was important. He even kept her in his room, saying romantic things about her protecting him from all worldly threats.
“I was a little worried about you when you say that.”
Hee-won smiled proudly and patted her chest.
“If you were so worried, you should put some furniture in the apartment and made it look like you were living there.”
Hee-na nodded. She took another drink.
“Okay. How about we went to the furniture store tomorrow and look around?”
“Tomorrow right away?”
“They said to get the horns sharpened.” ……. I have a lot of money and I need to spend it.”
Hee-Na had a lot of worries and concerns, but she wasn’t the type of person who would back out of something once she’d said it, and she wanted to get the job done quickly.
I made up my mind, dusted myself off, and got up, and a system window popped up in front of me.
Required Quests (0/2)
– Get the right furniture (0/100%)
– Arrange the interior decorations (0/100%)
Time limit: None
Penalty for not completing the quest: You’ll have to live in fear of being found unoccupied.
Quest Reward: Calm your mind and body, and level up your “Home Sweet Home” skill!
Additional rewards for completing the quest at your option>
This was the second quest I received.
Upon closer inspection, the quest was similar to the previous one. It asked me to decorate the interior of my home. The reward was also the same: leveling up the ‘Home Sweet Home’ skill.
Hee-Na narrowed her eyes.
“What did the system want me to do?
The system knew that she had found a house in the real world, and it even knew that she was afraid of revealing her skill to Kang jin-hyeon, so it wrote it into the quest.
People have often compared systems to computer programs: mechanical inputs and outputs with no particular emotion or purpose, just because they were made that way.
But the system was different for hee-na. Sometimes the system seemed to help her, sometimes it seemed to get in her way, and sometimes it seemed to drug her.
For example, when she first got the Home Sweet Home skill, and was sold a studio apartment in terrible condition.
Quests were the same way, popping up whenever Hee-na was in trouble and needed to do something.
Normally, quests have significant penalties for failing to complete them, but she had none of that. At most, it was an aesthetic pain, a mental and physical distress. It was a fairly generous quest.
The quest wasn’t even related to the ‘Home Sweet Home’ skill, except for the fact that it involved a house.
“But the reward is to level up Home Sweet Home?
After talking to many Hunters during my time at the Blue Dragon Guild, I learned that the system rarely behaves this way.
“Was this because my Luck stat was relatively high?” she wondered.
But usually, you get what you gave. Could it be that it was acting so special because it wants something?
It was enough to make me suspicious, even if the other person was a system.
“What was wrong with you? were you drunk?”
Hee-na must have thought it was strange because she began to stare into space. Hee-won tilted her head and sniffed.
“I don’t smell much alcohol, just meat…….”
Hee-na corrected her brother’s suspicions.
“No, it was because I have a new quest.”
Hee-won beamed.
“You have a new quest? What was it about?”
“Filled your apartment with furniture and decorate it.”
“That was it?”
“Yep.”
“That was pretty simple. My quest to raise a Go was unusual, and so was yours. Were all Hidden Classes like this?”
Hee-won’s question forced Hee-na to shrug her shoulders.
Hee-won nudged her skeptical sister’s back toward the bathroom.
“Well……. It was been hard, so let’s just think that we’re finally getting some sunshine. Don’t overthink it. If you were sober, wash your feet and went to bed.”
True. It was a waste of time to rack her brain for no answer.
Hee-na agreed to her brother’s words and went to wash her feet, feeling tired afterward.
* * *
The next morning. Hee-na woke up and installed a smart doorbell at the front door of her apartment. She had ordered it a while ago.
The smart doorbell was a device that connected the doorbell to her cell phone so she could know who was at the door, even if she was away from home.
I bought it just in case someone else came to visit. It also records like CCTV.
I thought I wouldn’t have visitors for a while, so I had been putting off installing it. But when she realized that Kang jin-hyeon lived next door, she couldn’t wait.
‘Just in case, Mr. jin-hyeon might come to visit.
After installing the smart doorbell, she immediately called the Blue Dragon Guild’s human resources team. The answer was Kang Mokhyun, the head of the HR department.
– How were you, Ms. Lee? No, Ms. Lee Hee-na, was the team leader of the status management team.
Kang Mokhyun answered the phone nonchalantly as if he didn’t know anything. The veins on Hee-na’s forehead immediately stood out.
“Mr. HR, you should have told me that the house next door is Mr. Kang’s hunter’s house!”
No matter how mild-mannered you were, you’ve got to call a spade a spade.
– ……Did you already know that?
“Yes, I did. You make it sound like you wouldn’t have told me if I hadn’t found out!”
– No, it had to be revealed.
The head of HR apologized, so Hee-Na pressed on.
“Of course, I was not saying I don’t like that my neighbor was Hunter Kang, but you didn’t give me any notice. It was the Blue Dragon Guild that found me a place, and it doesn’t make sense that the Blue Dragon Guild didn’t know about Hunter Kang’s whereabouts, especially since you were Hunter Kang’s brother.”
As I lay in bed last night thinking about it, a sense of betrayal washed over me.
Contractually, it was fine, but I felt like I’d been cheated. This was a guild I trusted like a rock, and they stabbed me in the back!
– I apologize. There were no excuse for this.
HR Team Leader Kang Mok-hyeon apologized politely and came up with something resembling an excuse.
– It was she third time I’ve gotten caught in a dungeon gate……. So it was already the third time you’ve gotten caught in a dungeon gate. This made Hunter Kang jin-hyeon worried, and he took it upon himself to protect me.
“So you were saying that I was going to live next door to Hunter Kang?”
– I apologize for not telling you beforehand. Speaking of which, there were other houses owned by Mr. Hee-na that were also owned by Hunter Kang next door.
