Housekeeper in the dungeon

chapter 84

EPISODE 84

Kang jin-hyeon watched Hee Na’s jaw drop, then opened his inventory and quickly pulled out an outfit.

It was a black T-shirt that was thin but looked pretty tough. I don’t know if it was tech wear or what it was made of, but it clung to his body and showed off his physique. It looked good.

“Aah!

Hee-Na realized in hindsight that she had been staring intently at Kang jin-hyeon body.

He had just come back from a dangerous battle, and her gaze toward him was so blatant that it made her blush.

“Ms. Hee-na.”

Could Kang Jin-hyeon feel her gaze?

He shook out his wet hair to dry it and called Hee-na’s name. His voice was more serious than before.

“Yes? Yes, yes……. Mr. jin-hyeon, please speak.”

Hee-na stiffened and straightened up.

She thought she was used to seeing this face every day, but not. His lips pursed in an angry, straight line, looked especially unfamiliar.

He let out a low sigh as if he didn’t like it.

“There were many things I need to hear, including how Hee-na entered this dungeon, which she entered alone, and how she was able to have an intimate exchange with the monster.”

Kang Jin-hyeon sharply questioned Hee-na. It was clear that he wasn’t going to turn a blind eye anymore.

Her mouth went dry under his stern gaze.

His jet-black eyes stared at her. She swallowed hard.

“…… Was that all there was to it?”

“Yes. I’ve told you everything. There’s nothing more I’m hiding from Mr. jin-hyeon.”

“Are you sure? You’re not hiding anything else?”

“I’ve told you everything, even the things you don’t know…….”

I waved my hands in the air as if I had been robbed, and Kang Jin-hyeon relaxed his arms as if satisfied. At the ‘Woo Min-ah didn’t know’ part, he loosened his expression and even flashed a small smile.

“Was that so?”

“Really.”

Hee-na had spilled all her secrets to Kang Jin-hyeon.

From how she awakened, to what skills she had, to what their effects were, to who she is, to why she was walking around this dungeon, and so on…….

I thought there would be a lot to explain since it happened over half a year ago, but in the end, it wasn’t that long of a story.

Kang Jin-hyeon listened intently to Hee-na’s story, asking her questions in between.

It was hard to imagine that this was the same person who had coldly advised Hee-na in their first meeting that she shouldn’t tell others about her class or skills.

“So, according to you, Hee-Na, you have a spatial skill called ‘Home Sweet Home’?”

“Yes. It was my house.”

“And this monster was…….”

“It was not a monster, it was a Go. It’s a little crazy, but it’s nice and didn’t hurt people. Look at it, how docile it is in front of Mr. jin-hyeon.”

Hee-na gestured toward the Go player.

The dog was sitting meekly on its knees-no, roots-next to Hee-na, as if crushed by the S-class Hunter’s momentum.

Kang Jin-hyeon let out a small sigh.

“……Yes. So this creature called Baduk is the pet plant of your brother, Mr. Lee Hee-won.”

“Yes. I got the seeds from a Class B mushroom dungeon that I fell into with Mr. jin-hyeon a long time ago, and when my brother planted them, he got the quest to raise a pet plant, and that’s how Go became part of our family.”

Hee-na emphasized time and time again that Go is not a dangerous monster, but her family. She couldn’t lose it now that she was in this situation.

“Hee-na was on a quest to walk a pet plant as a cooperative quest, and that was how she ran into me that plant happened to bring a boss monster with it, which complicated the situation.”

Kang jin-hyeon summarized the rest of the situation. Hee-na cautiously raised her hand to voice her opinion.

“When you put it like that, it sounds like Baduk did something dangerous on purpose, which was not the case…… Probably not……. Right, Baduk?”

I glanced over at Go, and he shook his bud eagerly, showing me his leaf, which had been dissolved in the boss monster’s acidic solution.

It was meant to elicit sympathy.

Hee-na thumped her foot.

“He got hurt this badly, too……. Look at this. How much does it hurt?”

No matter how close she was to Kang Jin-hyun, her arms bent inward. I couldn’t help but sneakily take the side of my family member.

But Kang was just getting started.

“The first thing I want to point out is Hee-na’s safety,” he said.

“This was her fourth walk today, and she’s been safe all this time, and she’s been wearing Mr. jin-hyeon’s stealth robe and defense bracelet, so if she hadn’t run into you today, she could have gone home quietly……”

“Enough.”

He cut off her steady stream of excuses.

“Dungeons are dangerous places where you never know what emergencies might arise. Even the safest dungeon in the world may have traps lurking behind it. This was especially true for a non-combatant Awakened like you. No matter how well you defend yourself with items, it’s not a 100% guarantee of safety.”

He was right.

If it weren’t for the Home Sweet Home skill issue, Hee-Na would never have gone on this adventure. Hee-Na was right to be impatient.

“If she wanted to go for a walk in the dungeon, she should have asked me, or at least Hunter Woo Min-Ah, to help her. She should have brought someone with her to protect her.”

“Min-ah was in the middle of a long hunt right now…….”

Kang jin-hyeon’s eyes sharpened as I stammered.

“Don’t make excuses. Hee-na’s judgment was complacent.”

He reprimanded her with tears in his eyes.

“Just because you can get in and out of the dungeon easily didn’t make it safer, which is why Hee-na’s abilities are woefully lacking. Given your history, I was willing to stay by your side just in case you were in danger, but it was troubling that you’d make the first move like this.”

“Yes…….”

Kang Jin-hyeon had always been soft in front of Hee-na.

Perhaps that’s why the gap between his stern demeanor and her own is so wide, and it makes him feel intimidated.

‘You had been so sweet to me all this time.’

Suddenly, she realized how exceptional he had been to her.

Of course, he was still angry at her for worrying about him, but…….

‘It was still scary, though.’

Hee-Na bowed her head heavily as the grass died. Then she heard a low sigh and a soft voice from above her head.

“Do you understand now, Hee-Na, just how dangerous a situation you were entangled in?”

“Yes……. In the future, I’ll make sure to consult Mr. Jin-hyeon or Min-ah first if something dangerous like this happens.”

Mr. Kang was very satisfied with the 100-point answer.

“Good.”

“……Then you’ll keep my skills and the existence of God a secret, right?”

I asked cautiously, and Kang Jin-hyeon nodded.

“Of course. If your abilities are known to the outside world, it will only endanger you, Hee-na, and I don’t want that to happen.”

Hee-na was pretty sure he wasn’t making this up.

Kang Jin-hyeon was a big mouth, but more than anything, he needed her. Without her, he couldn’t eat properly or sleep comfortably.

He was even the kind of person who would get drunk and carry Hee-na to his house as a precious possession. There was no way he would put her in danger.

Kang jin-hyeon eyes scanned Hee-na up and down, his gaze darkening for some reason. Somehow, his gaze made the hairs on her back stand up.

“……, if I could, I’d like to take you somewhere safe, but given your skills, that won’t be possible either, because you’ll be able to open a space and escape.”

Hee-Na broke out in a cold sweat.

“Oh. That’s right, escape.”

It must be an illusion, but it sounds like the phrase “keep her here” has been replaced with “trap her.

Before the ominous foreboding could continue, Kang interrupted.

“Anyway, I heard Hee-na’s explanation well. By the way, did you know that it was actually because of your skills that you packed me lunch the other day?”

He referred to Hee-na’s use of the gastronomical system to explain the missing pieces of the space, and the bento contract to restore power to Home Sweet Home after a power outage.

“I wasn’t lying, it was a snail in the house that snatched it up and used it, so the piece of space was missing……. Instead of a piece of space, some kind of seed grew, so I couldn’t bring it back.”

“That’s okay, I don’t think Hee-Na-san lied to you out of malice, wasn’t that the only choice she had to make to protect herself?”

Saying that stabbed me in the heart. Hee-na stammered out an excuse.

“I didn’t know what kind of person Mr. jin-hyeon was at that time, so I had no choice but to hide it.”
