"Are you okay…?"
Alexander looked at Hanarin, surprised to find someone here so late at night. He hadn't expected anyone to show up, especially under such dangerous circumstances.
Hanarin, still shaken but now filled with gratitude, looked at Alexander and exclaimed excitedly, "Thank you! Thank you for saving me!" She hurried toward him, standing just a few steps away.
Alexander waved her off nonchalantly. "This place is dangerous. You need to leave quickly."
His mind was preoccupied with figuring out what to do next. However, instead of fleeing, Hanarin appeared emboldened by his presence. Perhaps it was the sense of security he radiated, but instead of running, she stepped closer. Her bright, curious eyes locked onto his as she asked,
"Excuse me… Are you, by any chance, an anime character?"
Alexander blinked in confusion. "Anime character? What anime character? I'm a local resident! I even have an ID card." He sighed helplessly, regretting his choice of pajama attire. If only he had dressed properly, he could've pulled out his ID card to prove his point.
"You're not an anime character? Then…" Hanarin's gaze shifted upward to the two dragons battling fiercely in the sky. "Are 'they' anime characters?"
Alexander followed her finger and shook his head firmly. "What's with all these questions, little girl? We're living in a modern world. Don't overthink it. Believe in science! Yes, believe in science."
---
"Believe in science?"
The live audience watching the broadcast was dumbfounded. 'Believe in science?!' They stared at their screens, incredulous. 'You're telling us to believe in science?! After what you just did with a wave of your hand?'
Still brimming with curiosity, Hanarin wasn't satisfied. "But… what about earlier? Was that… magic?" she asked, her voice filled with fascination. She looked at Alexander as if determined to get the truth.
Alexander groaned internally. "Magic? No magic here. Don't watch so many animes, little girl. There's no such thing as magic in this world."
He shook his head, trying to dismiss her questions. But before he could continue, a voice suddenly called out from his villa.
"Everyone, come help! That black dragon looks strong!" Nero's voice rang out clearly.
In an instant, a massive figure descended from the sky. It was none other than 'Nine Tails'!
"I'll handle this first!" roared Kurama, his booming voice echoing through the battlefield. "Chakra Eight Ultimate Fist! Overlord's Heavy Strike!!!"
BOOM!
Nine Tails struck the black dragon with a powerful blow, sending it crashing down from the sky.
---
"Holy crap! It's Nine Tails! It's Nine Tails!!!"
"Kurama! That's Kurama!"
"Wait a minute… Did Kurama just use Eight Ultimate Fist? Isn't he supposed to shoot Tailed Beast Bombs like a turret? Why does he look like a martial arts master now?!"
The chat was exploding with disbelief. But the surprises didn't end there.
"Now then, leave the rest to me," a playful voice echoed in the dark.
From the shadows, Kurumi emerged, her figure illuminated as she stepped into the light. With a flick of her hand, her iconic 'Time Emperor' rifle appeared behind her.
BOOM!
One precise shot stopped the black dragon mid-air. Time itself seemed to freeze as Kurumi's ability took effect.
The live chat room became even more chaotic.
"KURUMI!!! It's Kurumi! That's my waifu!!!"
"Shut up! She's 'my' waifu! Back off, idiot!"
"I don't care what anyone says—I'm heading to City H to meet her in person!"
"Calm down, dude. You'd be lucky if she didn't swallow you whole the moment you showed up."
"Exactly. Know your place. Kurumi isn't someone you mess with."
---
Alexander sighed. The situation was spiraling out of control, and now even more attention was being drawn to him and his companions. '"This is going to be a headache,"' he muttered to himself.
---
At the scene, as the immobilized black dragon struggled futilely, a radiant golden figure appeared in the sky. This figure sat majestically atop the Vimana, his expression filled with fury as he glared at the black dragon below. His face was a mask of righteous anger.
"You wretched mongrel! This king was just about to destroy the enemy crystal! And you dared to disrupt this king's internet connection? You damned reptile—I'll make you pay with your life!"
With those words, the golden figure raised his hand. Instantly, countless golden treasures materialized out of thin air. Not a handful, not a dozen, but hundreds of treasures, glittering like islands of gold, filled the sky.
At that moment, the rain of golden weapons descended upon the black dragon with devastating force. Each impact sent shockwaves through the air, producing a series of deafening booms as the treasures struck their target relentlessly.
ROOOAAARR!
The black dragon let out a furious cry. Marquis Voban, now in his dragon form, couldn't believe what was happening. He had thought himself invincible, yet these individuals, everyone of them, had the power to fight back against him.
BOOM!
The black dragon crashed to the ground, its body battered and bruised. Though its wounds began to heal quickly, the assault had left its mark.
Meanwhile, in the live broadcast room, Gilgamesh fans erupted in ecstatic celebration:
"Our king!!! It's our King of Uruk!"
"It's Gilgamesh! The one and only! And look at him—he's as dazzling as ever! That classic 'mongrel' insult—I'm losing it!"
"Oh my gosh! Did you hear him? He said he was about to destroy the enemy crystal! Does that mean… was he playing MOBA games before this?!"
"I think so! Someone said earlier that Gilgamesh was AFK from his game, claiming he'd be back after killing a dragon. Guess this is what he meant!"
"Wait, wait! Who was his opponent? Give me their ID—now!"
"Why?"
"Duh! I want to defeat him! Imagine bullying Gilgamesh in a match—it'd be legendary!"
——
Back at the scene, Hanarin stood frozen, watching the chaos unfold. She turned to Alexander, her face a mix of awe and disbelief.
"This… is what you call believing in science?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly.
Alexander sighed, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly as he tried to formulate a response.
