Hunter x Hunter : Germain Joins The Hunt

Chapter 220: Chapter 209.2 : Ging and Brion!!

BOOM—

As the explosion resounded, Germain sliced through the swirling dust with his cleaver-like blade, his hood flapping wildly in the raging wind.

He landed firmly on the ground.

Behind him, the "Brion Giant Lizard," along with the "Blooming Brion," had been completely obliterated in the terrifying slash wave, its head reduced to scattered chunks of flesh.

Thud—

The headless "Brion Giant Lizard" finally collapsed, truly dead, stirring up another cloud of dust as it hit the ground.

Taking advantage of the cover provided by the dust cloud, Germain remained on guard against other magical beasts while quickly moving toward Bisky and Shizuku.

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a goddess-like figure floating in mid-air. She exhaled a strange mist toward the severely injured Shizuku.

In mere moments, the gaping wound on Shizuku's side began to visibly heal.

Her tightly shut eyes twitched, and her furrowed brows gradually relaxed.

The goddess smiled gently before slowly dispersing into countless fireflies that illuminated the night sky.

"I used the card Breath of the Archangel," Bisky explained. "Thankfully, I used it in time, and it worked…"

"You did the right thing," Germain affirmed.

At that moment, Shizuku began to regain consciousness. She opened her eyes, her gaze a little unfocused, looking at Bisky, who was holding her, and Germain, standing protectively in front of them.

"I… I'm not dead?" she asked, blinking her wide eyes.

"No, you're alive. Can you stand and move on your own?" Bisky asked with concern. "We still haven't broken through the encirclement."

"Got it," Shizuku said as she climbed out of Bisky's embrace and bounced a little. "Wow, my injuries are gone, and I feel even more energized!"

"That's the power of the 'Designated Card: Breath of the Archangel,'" Bisky explained briefly. "Now isn't the time to talk. Let's move."

"Understood," Shizuku replied obediently.

The three of them continued weaving through gaps in the encirclement of monsters, cutting down and repelling the creatures that came their way.

"I have a feeling the 'Night Stalker Species Roar' has made them more aggressive," Germain commented, swinging his meat cleaver to chop off the parasitic "Brion" embedded in a monster before catching up with Bisky and Shizuku.

Before Bisky could respond, a voice called out from afar.

"That's because it's exactly what the 'Night Stalker Species' does." A massive beast was split cleanly in two by a brilliant golden flash.

Ging appeared, adjusting his tattered hat as he leapt down into the fray. His body was drenched in blood, but he approached the group as if it were nothing.

"Are you okay?" Germain asked, running alongside him.

Ging kept pace with them, raising an arm to show his torn sleeve and the faint marks on his wrist. He smiled wryly.

"One of those 'Parasitic Brions' could release toxic gas. I used 'Sanbica's Antidote' to stop the poison from spreading, but my fingers are still a little numb."

Bisky, ever perceptive, grabbed Ging's wrist and forced him to halt.

"What is it?" Ging asked, puzzled.

Inspecting him closely, Bisky's expression grew serious. "You've been parasitized by a 'Brion.'"

Germain and Shizuku, having stopped as well, looked at Ging in shock before crowding around him.

All four of them stared at Ging's wrist, where a long, bloody wound revealed a small tumor, about the size of a fingertip, pulsing in rhythm with Ging's breathing.

Tiny, vein-like tendrils had burrowed deeply into Ging's flesh.

"Ugh," Ging grunted, wasting no time. He grabbed the tumor with his bare hands and yanked it out in one swift motion. Blood sprayed everywhere as he flung the parasitic growth far into the distance.

"I was surrounded by too many 'Parasitic Brions' earlier. I was being cautious, but I still got caught off guard."

He suddenly frowned and looked down again. Although the "tumor" had disappeared, the wriggling tentacles remained, making his expression grow grim.

"『Parasitic Spores』 have already taken root in your flesh and blood," Germain said calmly. "Ging, use 『Designated Card: Breath of the Archangel』. Otherwise, there won't be another chance."

"Got it." Ging didn't hesitate any further. He pulled out the 『Designated Card: Breath of the Archangel』 from his personal card box and activated it.

During this time, Germain, Bisky, and Shizuku fended off the surrounding monsters that attempted to close in, buying him some time.

Thankfully, the healing effect of 『Designated Card: Breath of the Archangel』 was swift. Ging's injuries were fully healed, and the 『Parasitic Spores』 in his body were completely eradicated.

However, this came at a cost. Two of the four members had now used 『Designated Card: Breath of the Archangel』, which would no longer work for them permanently.

Both Ging and Shizuku had lost the protection of a "second life." They now had to be extra cautious about their safety.

As they pushed forward once more, the atmosphere grew heavy. The four remained silent, focusing solely on defeating and repelling the waves of monsters until a colossal shadow loomed over them.

At first, they thought it was a cloud, but when they sensed something was off and looked up, they realized it was the 『Night Stalker Shark』 hovering above them, staring down with predatory intent.

"Roar——"

The deafening roar reverberated, and from the shadows of the towering stone pillars, the cracked ground, and the vast night sky, another wave of monsters surged toward them like an unstoppable tide.

It felt endless, as if it would never cease, making them doubt whether the number of 『Brion Parasite Seeds』 was truly limited to just a hundred.
